Just like Jungleflow I also think they refer to Ariel. I have the impression that these demons do not quite have a human (drow) level intelligence in the sense of understanding the events around them in context. They are more like some advanced but not quite conscious AI. So a guest will be a guest for them even in a hundred years, unless their status is explicitly withdrawn by someone with authority. Much like when a corporate IT forgets to invalidate the passwords of fired employee.

I do not think they refer to Mel as a guest, because I can't see how this team would have identified as Mel's companions.

Ariel (and by extension Kau and Sarnel) was the guest of Snad, back in chapter 46. And Mel is a kind of permanent guest, along with Zohr I suppose. These nurse demon could sense the filiation, couldn’t they?
