Han'yia started breathing again, "Hail Sarghress." Slipping his tomahawk back into his belt. "Directions no..." He thought a moment, orders be damned. "We could do with escort, but I was told it was best to rest at night at these campsites. Is the village that close?" Ukan'nahla turned her attention to the two Emberi in the group, lifting up her mask and speaking in their language, "Hey, wanna be my Scourges?" Han would clear his throat and address Taldrin, "Ignore my daughter...she's a bit touched in the head." She just rolled her eyes at that, "But Daddy, Mama said she was gonna teach me to summon. Why'd we have to leave Chel?" It was clear the line was rehearsed with no emotion in it.

Meanwhile back in the village there was activity about. Workers were coming home from both the fields and the forests. Across from Mae was home that was still being built, drow children were playing and doing chores in the yard when a group of lumberjacks passed, a tall lath female splitting of from the group, hugging her children and going inside after setting down her ax. Boki smiled as he laid down another Domino, "I was a bit worried they wouldn't fit in here." As he said that a group of mostly emberi women passed by the house as well, giggling and laughter was heard as a male lath only slightly taller than the group broke off and entered the house as well. "It was a bit rough at first. Thankfully here hard work speaks louder than skin color or ear shape. Your move." The fat little Emberi smiled at Mae and sipped more tea.

"Well, hard work is come by.", Mae said as she looked at the board and her remaining pieces. No good options. "And more people are moving away from the underground, since mana trees are being replanted. I've been thinking about it. But things are testy with the clan right now."

Yeah, she lost this game. And she was beginning to wonder were Tal went off to. "You havn't seen my partner around have you?"

Despite the laughter and children playing, the black wolf just continued to lay and eventually just rolled over with a grunt. He probably didn't notice or care, that a sparrow bird landed on his side. Hopping around.

Taldrin considered the two drows.
A male and a child girl who was to learn summoning.
That was less than usual. And more than commoners.
- We are at about three hours of walk from Wu Kong village.” Taldrin simply said without pointing any direction.
- Would I be bold to ask what bring us the honor of a Val to such a small colony? Or rather, to an area borrowed to drows by goblins?” He asked with a little bow.
If the child really was a Val, what could lead such a young one on the surface?
At the moment, it didn't mattered that much, so he simply led the way.
- What is “scourge”? Soshi asked, looking at Ukan'nahla, Taldrin, and finally Han'yia.
The bespectacled Sarghress shrugged.
- Vloz'ress use this word for some sort of disposable servant soldiers. I don't know what she meant by offering you such position.”
Huo Ki considered that a bit, and then looked straight at the new comers.
- We Wu Kong sourges. No can be sourges of dagger ears visitors. But welcome to dagger ears visitors.” She said in broken drow.

Han'yia started to look a bit nervous as he packed the camp up as quickly as he could. When Tal mentioned a Val he sighed, Ukan'nahla laughed at him, "You suck, Bodyguard." He narrowed his eyes at here then turned to Tal and bowed his head, "I apologize Sarghress. I was under orders to claim her as my common born daughter." He quickly repacked the pack animal and helped Ukan'nahla up onto it. She huffed when the two told her they wouldn't be her Scourges, muttering to herself as she pulled the wooden mask down again. Han would take the reins and walk along side the animal on the way to Wu Kong. "I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I was told I would receive further orders from a...Bau'kie Yawnh'in? I was told he was the head of the village. I would think we're just passing through to Ys." "That's where Aunty Kane'ohe is! She'll teach me to Summon." The Young Val sounded estatic at that. Han was getting tired of the Val, "She's a bit of a trouble maker. Believes her father to be Vloz'ress, and she's taken with that...identity of all things." The Val nearly ripped off her mask, "I'll show you all one day! I'll be the greatest Sumoner there ever was! Mastering both Nether and Traditional Summoning!" She produced a stone from her dress and clasped her hands around it, using mana on the device, "Don't strain yourse-" "Shut up! I did it before!" A small summon would start to appear, taking the from of bear cub before it vanished. The Val slumped forward on the Halderi, Han stopped and checked her breathing and pulse. He looked to Tal, "I did warn her...you're my witnesses." Han picked up the summoning stone and tucked it back into the unconscious child's dress, he smiled softly, "Maybe now I can enjoy the scenery." He would continue with Tal towards the village.

"Oh, yes. He went to do some training." he chuckled softly, "I was surprised he actually wasted his time with Hu Bei, though now he's got some better students. If he's not careful he'll have a small army to train." Boki would turn to the gate when it made a clicking noise. A young, blonde haired light elf girl would enter the yard, nervously looking at the wolf before she got to the porch. Boki smiled at Makalah, "Are you done with your lessons then?" She would nod, "Yes sir..Father." Boki was beaming proudly and gestured for her to come closer. She would come to him and hug the larger Emberi. She would whisper in his ear, he would chuckle, "You can ask her yourself." The Light elf looked at Mae, nearly shaking as she asked, "M-miss Mae...can I pet your wolf?"

Mae was still considering her options, when the little elf girl came up to them. Her frowny face was still at it's normal level when the poor shaky thing asked her about petting Chez. "Chez?" She looked over at the sleeping wolf and considered it, before putting two fingers in her mouth to whistle. "Dumb ass, get over here."

The large wolf rose quickly up, noticing for the first time the little bird on his head flying away.

People often failed to appreciate just how big this wolf was. As he lumbered forward, pink tongue hanging from his mouth, he seemed to get bigger. "Lay down and be nice." The dumb brute listened and did so. "Be careful he doesn't try to hit you in the face. He means well, but he doesn't know better."

Mae placed her remaining good domino on the floor. "Shes not your kid is she?"

Taldrin felt sorry for the bodyguard. He had been a bodyguard himself, and most of the time this was an aweful humiliating job.
- I do be your witness. What is your name and clan? For I guess that being appointed as a Val's bodyguard makes you a clan member. We will probably go faster with the child asleep and on the haledri's back. And you won't hear her complaining for a little while.”
He took his skin and poured some fresh water on a cloth that he applied on the Val child's forehead.
- Let's keep moving, and maybe she'll awake in a comfy bed.”
Taldrin kept looking completely serious.
- As for the village's head, it is still so far the village counsel. A colony of our people -drows I implied, no offence meant- was settled there, but the Emberis of Wu Kong are still in their own homes. It was never about taking that from them.

Huo Ki looked at the scene of the girl disobeying “Bodyguard”. She turned to her comrade.
- She reminds me of Hu Bei.”
- I hope for her she is less big mouth more work” Soshi replied. “But you are indeed welcome at the Wu Kong, sir Bodyguard. I am Soshi.
- And I am Huo Ki.”
- They don't speak much of our language, so please don't mind if they ever say something strange. They are trying hard.”

The group could indeed go faster than first expected despite the two young Emberis tireness.
Night arrived while they were still on the way, but soon enough they saw the village's light.
- Huo Ki, Soshi, rest good. We go training outside again in five days.”
- Yes teacher!” The two teens answered together, quickly leaving.

Taldrin then spotted Mae and Boki under Mae's porch. And Chesz. Sharess be thanked, the wolf seemed to be rather busy so this time he might not run and jump at Taldrin, licking his face.
- Boki? We have visitors, includind a fainted child. Could your help be requested to find them somewhere to stay?”

Boki sat back in the chair he was in as Makalah pet the wolf, gently rubbing the nuzzle before she started to get more comfortable with it. "If your asking if I...erm, sired her, then no." Her ear's would visibly lower, "I am not that lucky. She is still my daughter" The light elf's ears perked up again and she hugged thew wolf. Boki looked to Mae, "Not many in the village know her true story. Simply that I adopted her on my trip the Chel." He sighed, "I unknowingly accepted her as payment from one of your Enemies. A Val'Sharen...no, Vel correct? Your titles confuse me sometimes." He continued, "According to Makalah they were attempting to flee Chel, but she got distracted and used her Ada to buy party dresses instead of supplies, so she had nothing when she got to me." He rose up and approached the wolf carefully, his hand was shaking a little as he went to pat the wolf himself, then hugged Makalah tenderly. "I turned my back and the Vel'Saren was gone, with just little Makalah left." He looked around, lowered his voice anyway. "Slavery is a taboo here in the village. The act itself is akin to murder, perhaps even worse." He would let the elf go and returned to his chair, "I was afraid I would be banished from the village just for having a slave, so I adopted her as my daughter instead. It raised a few questions, but it helps when your great grandmother is the Oldest Living Elder. Helps more when she wants a great great granddaughter more than her great grandson banished."
Boki looked to Makalah, "We're having dinner at Aunty Quing La's house tonight. When you're done with that wolf go wash up." The light elf sighed, not wanting to stop playing, "Yes father."
"Han'yia Nal'Sarkoth. Formerly of the Explorers...if you can count one mission and some training as being part of the Explorers..." He sighed, "Before that I was assigned as a simple guard in the compound in Chel. Protecting rare books from thieves and Vals such as her." He would turn to check the girl, "And she's..." he hesitated a moment, "I would appreciate this not getting spread around. I'm sort of on thin ice as it was. But I was told to avoid all groups outside of the Halme Caravan we traveled with until the river until we got to the village. So I'm not exactly at liberty to give her name...call her Ukan'yia if you need to, she's suppose to be my 'daughter' after all." Han listend a bit to Tal, "No offense taken. I've heard some stories about this Wu'kong from other Explorers. Cheap food and drink, friendly people for the most part." He would bow his head to the two Emberi, "Blessing of Spirit up on two you." He looked to Tal, "I can speak a little bit of theirs, mostly to give orders or ask directions, but it gets me by."

Han'yia would wave to the group on the porch. "Hail Sarghress." addressing Mae, he turned to Boki, "You must be the one I was told to contact. I am Han'yia Nal'Sarkoth." Boki sat up, "Oh. You're a day early. I would like to tell you your room has been paid for at the Inn, but well..." He scratched the back of his head, "The orders I was given was to keep you away from the other members of your clan till you got settled in, and the Explorers aren't leaving until early morning." Han'yia looked the shorter Emberi over, "What's the meaning of this?" Boki bowed his head politely, "It was the terms of the contract I was given regarding you. I also have a couple of packages and letters for you and your charge as well. But they're in my home, I can have you two stay in my guest room tonight." Han'yia looked confused, "Why can't we stay in the Inn? Er, not to offend your hospitality." Han'yia bowed lightly as an apology. "I'm not sure, but she said most of your questions would be answered by the letters."

Of course she knew Boki couldn't have real elf children. As far as she knew, no fae could cross breed with a goblin of any kind. But at least Boki seemed to genuinely care for the little light elf. Its more then what she had, she never got to pet wolves until she joined the army.

The giant wolf didn't seem to mind the hugs and petting he was receiving. Even as Boki's had shook, he didn't seem to notice the embries uneasiness. But he did look at him with his yellow eyes. "Well I guess the elf got the better part of the deal." She shrugged not having a strong opinion about it. "Yeah your grandma is older then sin. But her mind seems to be in the right place."

Another thing Boki had that she didn't, grand parents. But if Mae's parents had anything to show for it, she probably had worse grandparents then parents.

When Tal showed up, Chezz turned his head towards the new people. And if a wolf ever had a dumb grin on his face, Chezz had one. But Mae told him to stay, so he stayed put.

"Hail Nal'Sarkoth." She nodded. Trying to figure out what the rival Nals, were up to. "How goes Tal. You taking home strays or something?"

Taldrin couldn't ignore the big wolf's reaction toward him. Luckily, Chezz obeyed Mae and stayed still.
That wasn't common, but rather welcomed. For if Taldrin was far from disliking Chezz, being jumped on by such a huge beast wasn't his favourite thing in life.
- Good fangie. Goooood boy. Keep that way.” Taldrin calmly saluted the wolf.
- As you can see, Captain, I'm still good at unplanned side results. I go for a drink and eat competion, I end up with a new “sister”. I go for training goblins, I come back with trained goblins and stray Nal'sarkoths. I wonder what new surprise Wu Kong have for me.” Taldrin said, turning to Mae.
Sharess, he was worn out. But he still wasn't done.
- Beside these two, nothing unusual to report.”

Taldrin then turned again to Hanyia.
- You don't seem to have much choice. Besides, Boki is a good host. So unless your daughter can freak out at awaking in a house inhabited by Emberi goblins, you should accept his offer. Else, you can share my place, but it's a tiny, soldier's one. So don't expect me to be a better host than Boki”.

Boki looked lost in thought. Makalah had stopped petting Chez and shyly waved to Taldrin. She turned her attention to the Halderi and was gently scratching it's neck, which caused the beast to sway a bit. "I really didn't mean to offend. I'm just a bit confused as to whats going on." Boki spoke up, "Makalah, go tell Grandpa Ikooba that I won't be going to the dinner tonight, I have guest to entertain." She nodded and pat the Halderi, "Yes Father." running off towards the village. Boki turned to the Drow, "Well. I suppose a welcome is in order for our new guests. If you two would like to come to my home for the dinner you can, since these two can't go to the Inn to eat." Han'yia removed his helmet and stared at Makalah, "Your...daughter?" Ukan'nahla started to stir and groan, "Wh-wha happened?" Han'yia smirked, "You were attacked by a demon and have become tainted." She sat up, sounding excited, "Really?! Wow, I guess it's not as bad as they say!" nearly falling over. Han'yia grabbed the girl and steadied her, sighing "No...You used too much mana and passed out. Demons are much worse." She pouted. "Asshole." Boki looked taken aback by the young Val's language. Ukan'nahla noticed Boki now and spoke to him in Emberi, "Hey, I'll pay ya 20 gold if you stab this idiot." Boki smiled nervously, "I'm...not a violent man." She pouted and pulled down the wooden mask over her face, grumbleing into the mask. "I'll take you two to my home now and get you settled in." Boki would take the reins of the Halederi and lead the two deeper into the village, towards a larger home with a spacious yard and some mana plants growing in pots. Han'yia followed, stopping at the plants, "These aren't doing too well..." He would put his hand over the plant and use a bit of mana, "You need to repot them in larger pots." Boki would help Ukan'nahla down and would start to unburden the Halderi, "Yes, there's been some debate about that. My mother says they need another week. Father says they need more fertilizer, great grandmother says they need to be pruned, and the instructions I have say to replant them in larger pots with gravel surrounding the dirt ball. I would have planted them in the ground by now but I haven't had the time." Boki would grunt as he laid a chest down on the ground. "The guest room is on the right and in the back, if you want to move your things in there. For now you can put them in the main room." He clicked his tongue and lead the Halderi to something of a barn, "Ro, you have a guest tonight." The head of Boki's ox would poke through a fence and into the garden, regarding the Halderi with a snort as Boki opened the pen and herded the animal inside.

Han'yia would take Ukan'nahla by the hand after picking up some of their gear, entering the home and looking around the entryway. Past the ornate wood doors that had a crab motif and the plaster outer walls was paper walls and candles not yet lit on on copper dragon mouths on the walls. The floor of the entryway was recessed with a lovely polished stone and smooth wood making up the floor of the rest of the house. The main room looked to be the dining room with some lounge chairs put in and a stack of pillows in one corner of the room with a low table in the middle. Ukan'nahla let out a whistle and raised up her mask, "Wow. I thought we were gonna be sleeping in a mud hut or something. Mom sure knows how to pick em." Han'yia looked around as well, bent over a little to avoid a rafter that was low by drow standards. Thankfully the ceiling was vaulted. "I'll have to agree with that."

"So, I see." Mae said as she looked at their new Nal visitors closer. She supposed it wouldn't be that uncommon for Nals to be lurking around. While her clan didn't have many ill feelings, the Raiders were not buddies with the Nal explores. At least with Mae they were not.

Chezz nuzzled his muzzle and wet nose under Makalah hand, looking for more pets. But he just ended up watching the little elf go off. And, instead turned back to Tal. Someone he still remembers very well, back in the day. He stood up, with his tongue hanging out.

"Tal, did you hear that? Did hear I hear demon?" There was nothing that would get Mae blood running cold faster than neither world.

"I did hear this, indeed. Apparently, the child fantasies about summoning arts. That I heard already earlier." Taldrin had all the best reasons to hate demonic summons and being, and hoped he could talk about the Nal child to Mae in private, but the stupid girl did not let him a chance.
In fact, Taldrin started to seriously doubt the child's ability to survive with such a big mouth. First, telling away her bodyguard and lies that were to protect her.
And now, revealating such ill-considered art aspirations in public...
"I'm going to meet with them to check some things and get more informations. To be honest, I first thought of misleading them when I met them. But were the child really a demonic summoner, I like to have potential enemies close to me and under my eyes than having a bad surprise later. I hope you are not mad at me for that." While Taldrin was talking, Chezz couldn't refrain sniffing him. Waving his tail, he soflty yepped, calling for the small drow's attention.
Taldrin eventually indulged a petting in the head, which resulted in an overly happy wolf jumping at him to show his affection. In a second, Taldrin was on his back, Chezz licking his face.
- Mae... Please NEVER tell that to Die'tra." Despite the situation, trapped under Chezz, Taldrin kept his deadpan look.
- You, Chezz... What damn kind of wolf are you?"

Han'yia clapped his charge on the shoulder, "Don't break anything and don't set anything on fire." The Val huffed, then started to explore the house a bit. Han'yia would move outside and bring in their baggage, Boki was already picking some things up and smiled at Han'yia. Han picked up a trunk from the ground, "So...that light elf." Boki still smiled as he lifted up some of the camping gear, "My Daughter yes. I adopted her, poor thing." Han lugged the trunk into the entryway and down the hall, "Oh..." Boki chuckled, "Don't worry, I've seen that look many times from your kind since I've adopted her." Han went out to grab his pack now, "Yes...I've received the same looks myself when I was a child..." he ran a hand through his green hair. "I have to thank you for your kindness...but you said something about my orders?" "Oh yes. One moment." Boki disappeared into the house, coming out with a moment later with a wooden box and some letters. Han took them with a bow, "Thank you." "Not a problem, I'll get started on dinner. Hope you like pork." Boki went inside the house as Han opened an official looking letter that was sealed with the clan's symbol. Han started to read it, his eyes went wide, dropping the box which cracked open, spilling Ada on the ground. Han was in shock as he slowly fell to the ground. He sat there in silence in the front garden.

Meanwhile Ukan'nahla had walked out of the house and into the back garden, running into Makalah as the light elf was heading into the house. She quickly looked down, "I-I-I'm so sorry, please forgive me." Ukan'nahla laughed, "You must be be a slave or something." She stuck her hand out to the light elf, "Name's Ukan'nahla Val'Nal'sarkoth, your master staying here too?" Makalah looked up into the Vals eyes, "I-I'm freed Lady Val." Ukan'nahla laughed, "Well good for you. Hey, how bout you show me around this place?" Makalah would look at the Val, "But I-." "I'll pay ya." The Val smiled and pulled an Ada from her robes. Makalah would look for a moment, she'd never been actually paid before, let alone by a Val, "Uh...alright." She would lead the Val through the back gate and towards the village center. "Whats 'yer name by the way?" "Vis'a...Mistress used to call me that. Father gave me the name Makalah, and his family name of Yanyean." "Heh, that's Awesome! Throw out your slave name! Down with the Vals!" Makalah looked at the Val suspiciously, "A-aren't you a Val?" "Yeah, so?" The two girls continued to walk into the town.

Mae frowned deeply as the wolf did a very naughty dog. "Get! Get off of him." The wolf raised his ears (one of them was floppy at the tip.) and looked back as Mae came up and booted him in the ass. *Yipe* he whined, jumping away from a downed Tal and angry Mae.

"He needs an ass kicking is what he needs. Kind of wolf." She grumbled as she helped poor Tal up. "I wont tell. But she might ask who roughed you up. Probably think I did it, like I'd beat on you." Mae cleared his cheek as a mother would to her child, but she did in an attempt to annoy him.

Taldrin jumped back and rubbed his cheek.
- C... C'mon! Just don't tell her! She has no reason to believe you hit me and even if you did that's would be of no difference! I just don't want to be the comic element... again." The last bit, Taldrin almost muttered in frustration.
- Chezz! STOP doing that for Sharess sake!" He immediately went on, hushing up what he just said.
Addressing a military salute to Mae, Taldrin left to Boki's house so to have more talk with the weird Nals. Now that the emberi teens were back home, they could chat more freely.

Arriving in the house, he spotted the girl with Makalah.
So the so weird girl was busy. Perfect.
Taldrin simply nodded to Makalah in case she noticed him and went on.
As he was heading for the main entrance to annonce himself when he saw the one he was looking for, sitting on the ground of the front garden with a miserable look and adas at his feet.
- Hail. That won't grow into any type of tree." Taldrin called Han out. He was about to add that no matter what just happened, they needed to talk seriously, but just as words were about to be spoken, he changed his mind.
- No more Ys?" He softly asked the unfortunate bodyguard.
