so, one of the alternatives to Steam is Good old Games, personally, I used it to discover old gems such as Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and other such games; they have plenty of fun adventure in them, but lacking in grafics for understandable reasons.
all in all use Good old games to find high quality old games, but beware, since the Reviewsections are biased due to nostalgia!
