The RP. Is anyone in a state of free time? Pleeeaaassee?

Deme'dichi Clan Views are actually fairly accurate as set out by the table in the new Worldsetting Thread. So yeah.

I thought it was Pitdragon's turn for the RP unless I'm wrong and its my turn instead.

I posted there a while ago, so don't blame me:

....Though do blame me or forgetting to post my clan views despite suggesting that line of discussion.... ^^;

Anyway: The Aqrab are neutral on most clans. generally, they are very professional in their relationships - you got the money they do the job.

The only clans they realyl dislike are the Sarghress, for being their biggest competition in the mercenary market, and the Kyrol, whose fanaticism makes them too hard to work with to be worth the effort.

I have been going back and forth on what the Aqrab think of the Vir'eska - they kind of have similar backgrounds and are both animal specialists, but I could see that justifying positive or negative views. However, if they are working on the coalition together, then I guess it makes more sense to lean towards a positive view on them.

The Qin were a clan I was considering having above average view, at least among the younger Aqrab - that the Aqrab would frequent Qin entertainment a lot when they were in the city, and would conduct business there rather let strangers into their camps....but with the fall of the Qin I am not sure this is possible any longer....

The Demi'Dichi are another group I am kind of going back and forth on: they have a reputation for honesty I am sure the Aqrab would appreciate, and by necessity I think the Aqrab would need some loans to help them get started in the city. On the other hand, I imagine most trade within the Aqrab is based on barter and gift giving, and their exchanges with outsiders are monetary based but still simply affairs - interest rates, credit, and other baking stuff would be very confusing to them, which means they don't know if they are getting cheated or not - a position they would hate to be in. I imagine them paying off any loan they take as soon as they possibly can.

Since the Ailee'Khevlani invited them to the coalition and basically paved the way for the Aqrab to rise for power, I think the Aqrab would probably view them very well. They also just sound like nice people to work with in general.

I don't have a clan so all I had to contribute was getting the summary out. ^^; Unless you need me to DM it or drop in suggestions at times. It would really be Sionyx, DPD, you, and Jungle doing most of it. I'm watching though. ;)

Keep in mind that the Deme'dichi are perfectly willing to screw you over a bit if you've left a gaping loophole. While their thing with honor won't let them massive cockpunch you for leaving out a comma, if you're being very frustrating (like not paying your fees) and they figure that this one clause in the contract, which they haven't told you about because their devious like that, could be used to MAKE you pay up, they'd be willing to take that opportunity.

We could use a post from Sionyx, but I think that it'd be better for Kail'odian at this point. Any discussion on WHAT we're doing is going to be either agreed upon or argued against by the Vir'reska as quickly as possible seeing as they have the most vested interest in said action.

Keep in mind that the Deme'dichi aren't honest, just loyal and trustworthy. Those're two different things. See, trustworthy people, you can trust to uphold their end of the bargain. But dishonest people, you can't believe the words they say. So Jack Sparrow is an extremely dishonest person, but he's really quite trustworthy. You can trust him to do something! You just can't believe in the fact that he won't do something to counteract that within seconds of doing the first thing. It's a fine distinction and you might argue that I'm splitting hairs, but the Deme'dichi are quite good at splitting hairs and getting through tiny loopholes. Heh.

Ah. Now see, this is exactly the kind of stuff the Aqrab don't like and are nervous of. XD

Hehe, precisely. On the other hand, notice how the last drow who tried to fuck with a vendor that the Deme'dichi supported had her house foreclosed on, her business taken from her, and her entire life savings claimed by the clan. Also, her husband left her because it turns out that the drow was seeing someone else. The ensuing custody battle resulted in the father claiming rights to the children's lineage, as a Deme'dichi lawyer of impeccable skill was in charge of his case. Now imagine what would happen if someone tried to mess with a CLAN that the Deme'dichi were friends with. Why, an incident of that magnitude might just provoke the Illhar to freeze all enemy assets that the Deme'dichi had in their possession. Indeed, she might even go so far as to legally claim MORE enemy assets through sheer legal fuckery.

Of course, this is all hypothetical, since the Illhar would never do such a thing. She, and the Deme'dichi as a whole, are gentledrow, and hence eschew violent take overs and such things. Why, they'd even be willing to GIVE you some ada, no interest, in return for your good favor. Maybe to help you get those nice automatic crossbows from the Tei'kaliath? They ARE rather ingenious, aren't they? Really, the Deme'dichi, are just like little feral kittens. All they want, at the end of the day, is some love and attention and maybe a little ego-pampering if you're feeling particularly kind.

Just don't forget about how sharp Deme'dichi claws can be.

Or how dangerous a charging Rhino can be if you pull that kind of shit on the Vir'reska. ;)

Pitdragon, i didn't realize [or forgot, could be a combo of both 8P ] that you were not a clan maker. ^^; As for the rest, I'll see what I can do for my next post soon.

Pfft....as long as we are doing animal analogies, scorpions have armor, claws and a poisonous tail. I win! :P

(I also don't think the drow have a legal system besides appealing to feudal overlords for arbitration, and men certainly don't have any custody rights...but I get your point.)

Alright then, see you guys around the RP!

Alas I have not. Which threads are these?

viewtopic.php?f=82&t=12195#p588902 and viewtopic.php?f=82&t=12195#p698316 <- same thread, but two posts. I wish I had more on the orcs.

Working on the Ailee'Khevlani views now. They're mostly finished, since I knew how the Ailee'Khevlani viewed the Chel clans when I made the initial clan writeup but didn't include it. It's mostly a matter of adjusting for timeskip revelations and such. Was hoping to get them typed up tonight, but it's not going to happen. Sorry. I'm also working on a response for the RP thread. Since neither of my Illhars reacts as I would, I have to be careful how I write them in a situation like this.

And, of course, typing on a laptop isn't very easy when there's a cat convinced she's the rightful laptop...

When are you going to be posting? I've got a reply all jazzed up for the RP, but I don't want to throw your post out the window.
