Well, that is troubling. The DT wiki needs an update, it seems. No matter, I shall make a few changes.

Also yes I do, in fact understand how Drow age. My changes are below.

Background: Napheto was raised in the caverns above Chel'el'sussoloth. His mother passed away after giving birth to him causing rumours to float about; pinning poor Napheto as a harbinger of ill will. Being born after the house's tragedy at Orthorbbae did not help this situation very much either, and so Napheto was given up by his subhouse and (after having discovered his sorcery) was raised by a shadow sorceress named Nu'al Val'Beldrobbaen. She taught him to use his sorcery, and raised him to be a mentally fit and capable Drow that would someday bring the clan greatness (even if his only future achievement might turn out to be fathering more children for the clan).

As he grew, Napheto often caught wind of the rumours regarding his birth. "...harbinger of sickness", "He doomed an entire house..", "...cursed seed". Napheto endured these and many other hurtful behaviours that were performed behind his back in secretive whispers. He felt that these people were cowards for not saying these things to his face, at least then he might understand it better.

When he was old enough to visit Chel'el'sussoloth in person he was instructed never to leave unless accompanied by a capable warrior to guard him. Also at this time Nu'al handed him a chainmail shirt and a dagger. "Your protection is of great importance, Napheto. Every loss that our clan sustains is a grave one."

Despite this warning Napheto would very often wander by himself into the town, taking great care not to get in any dangerous person's way. His favourite places were the crowded shopping districts where he could find all kinds of wonderful and rare materials. His mind would fill with extravagant ideas as he would pass each store front and stall. Eventually, when he had saved up enough money, Napheto would approach the district with the intent to buy something (Nearly anything). That is how he came to own a block of birch wood.

Napheto had never seen any substance quite like it, and so he immediately felt he had to have a piece. The boy's fondest memories were of wandering the halls of his home and seeing all of the wonderful artwork depicting spiders and the clan's massive family tree. This inspired him to carve the block of wood into the form of a spider.

Nu'al scolded Napheto harshly when he told her about what he had done. "How could you just carve up something so precious," She shouted. Napheto protested, "N-no, I made it better. Now it is art, see?"

After seeing his craftsmanship she went easier on him. "At least it is appropriate to our clan. Perhaps it does have more value now". Napheto exchanged these words with a charming smile.

It has been five years since and Napheto is now very knowledgeable of Chel'el'sussoloth's structures and layouts. He enjoys exploring the city and meeting it's inhabitants (though some are dangerous, he still feels compelled to watch from a distance).

He is also faced with the choice of whether or not to ask his house for permission to attend Orthorbbae to further his magical studies, a pursuit that may very well just end in futility if he does not show enough promise to be worth teaching..

Character: Napheto Val'Beldrobbaen

Conditionally Approved. That's a good rewrite there. Post to confirm that the other aspects of Napheto's character sheet remain the same as previously posted and you may begin play.

Thank you, I'm quite proud of my resourcefulness. For simplicity's sake I'm going to post all the approved portions here (so they are easier to find for GMs and PCs)

Name: Napheto Val'Beldrobbaen (male)

Race: Drowolath

Age: Twenty

Equipment: Twenty-three Ada

-Clothing: Usually wears a light, hooded robe (A dark green with black and white trim) with the Beldrobbaen clan crest stitched into the left sleeve. Under his robe he wears a loin cloth (To avoid the repercussions of sitting in something... nasty).

-Defense: Napheto has a chainmail shirt (with an accompanying under-shirt) that protects his shoulders, chest and back. His gut is exposed but he relies on his small size to keep him safe from attacks that low (he wears this shirt under his robe).

-Offense: Napheto carries a simple dagger in a simple sheath that is fastened to his chain shirt under his right arm. He calls this dagger "Quekla'in the impure".

-Effects: He prefers to carry one of each of the following in a pouch tied around his waist.
- A spidersilk cloth (twenty-four square inches when unfolded)
- A wooden spider figurine (see backstory).
- A vial of poison (Usually spread on his dagger. This poison effects the muscles of the infected target making them feel heavy and sluggish. If ingested the poison only gives the infected target a very painful stomach ache and can cause constipation.

Magic: Shadow Sorcery (He has a moderate talent for controlling his sorcery but has no long-term training (see backstory). His favourite trick is to shoot a volley of shadow needles from shadows covering his palms ).

Beginning city: Chel'el'sussoloth

Clan: Beldrobbaen

Background: Napheto was raised in the caverns above Chel'el'sussoloth. His mother passed away after giving birth to him causing rumours to float about; pinning poor Napheto as a harbinger of ill will. Description: Napheto's eyes have a greenish tint to them and he has dyed his hair to match with black that fades to green at the tips. He lets his hair go wildly as he usually keeps it under a hood. He doesn't care how messy it looks, he only cares about the colour. He usually greets people with a friendly smile but speaks in serious tones that give him a slight air of maturity, though his voice is still meek and childish.

Hey. I'm new here. I've read the comic for a long time but never really thought about joining. However, a recent interest in roleplaying aroused by the TVTropes Forums has intrigued me to checking out the roleplay, so I thought I'd post a character and see how I do.

*ahem*

This is a matter of profit. The bottom line is all that matters to me.”

Name: Anara'wata

Race: Drowolath

Age: 37

Equipment:
Armor
Thin steel breastplate underneath a dryder made silk tabard. It's small enough that it can go unnoticed underneath Anara's clothing, yet strong enough to stop a crossbow bolt or a knife should a deal go south, or a competitor attempt aggressive negotiations.
Weapons
A small golem type automatic crossbow slung over her shoulder. Anara doesn't use it often, but she does know how to use it. A dozen or so crossbow bolts are in the small quiver attached to her leg

A large knife strapped to her hip. Useful to prove a point, not so useful against a sword

A pair of four inch throwing knives, concealed up her sleeves. Just in case.

Other
50 ada in her boot
The keys to her business, concealed in a hidden pocket of her clothing
A water skin
A small encoded book of her various outlets and shipment manifests (A larger record is within her place of business) and a charcoal pencil for marking changes
A magnifying glass for both inspecting goods and checking fine prints in a contract.
A flute. She sometimes plays it when she is bored

Magic: Fire Sorcery. Can create and manipulate burning hot mana. Thanks to extensive training, she can also extinguish flames and can alter fire's shape enough to create moderately complex designs with flames, or with effort create compressed flames which can pierce goblin made armors.

Beginning city: Chel'el'sussoloth

Clan: Merchant

Background: Born in Nuqrah'Shareh as the fourth (of seven) daughter of a merchant family, Anara was raised by her eldest sister Len'ine, the keeper of the family's often empty home and manager of the family's funds, from her infancy until she was sixteen, learning the things one learns at those ages. Anara was found to have an instinctive grasp of music, as well as a sharp mind. She was also taught the mana arts, being found to have the innate ability to manipulate fire. When Anara was seven, an accident with an halme servant traumatized her, when she accidentally set the woman's hair ablaze. This has led Anara to be cautious with her abilities, and she trained very hard to be as precise as possible with her mana, even more so then her sister or the rest of her family. She also learned how to play the flute at this time, encouraged by her sister.

Beginning on her sixteenth birthday, she was educated by her mother, learning the trade of a merchant, how to take advantage of trends in trading, how to find prospective clients and how to act as a negotiator between buyers and sellers. As Anara's mother was always traveling between cities, Anara accompanied her. Anara has been to almost every major city of the underworld, although she never traveled to the surface. This was also when Anara became acquainted with the rest of her sisters, who also worked for her mother.

Anara was not in Chel'el'sussoloth during the Nidra'chaal uprising, however she did lose a sister during that time period to the fires of the Kyorls, and another became tainted. The family recovered, although the financial cost was several ten thousands of ada. This forced Anara's mother to place more trust in her daughters and began sending them with smaller amounts of mercenaries for protection, in order to recoup losses. This almost lead to disaster for Anara, when a shipment of halme to be sold to the Sarghress rebelled, getting loose of their chains and began slitting the guards throats in their sleep. Anara only survived due to her light sleeping habits, and three of the halme were killed by the remaining guards before the situation was under control. Anara was twenty six at the time.

Anara has decided to begin her own branch of her family's business, within the city of Chel'el'sussoloth. She has thus set up shop within the markets, trying to root out clientele amongst the small business owners as a supplier. As this is a very cutthroat market, she's seeking help to eliminate the competition.

Description: Standing just over six foot tall, with shoulder length spiky hair dyed green at the tips. Her Cyan eyes speak of a cutthroat attitude, while the floral tattoo designs that run from the tips of her ears to her cheeks speak of a slight playfulness of her past. She is generally dressed in a loose fitting black knee length cloak over a blue tabard, with her merchant company's logo, a pair of hands grasping each other at the wrist, emblazoned on the back in white. She wears long boots, except on special occasions. She walks with confidence, but also caution, displaying her family traits of being a cutthroat merchant.

Name: Kae’gaza Ba’surodo

Race: Drowolath

Age: 137

Equipment:
1 Scratchpad (slate board and chalk)
1 “Doodlepad” (50 sheets of hand-made mushroom fiber bound together using sticky drider silk)
1 drawing stick (ref: Demon Painter, the artist has some sort of drawing stick)
1 Ruler
1 Protractor
1 Abacus (skilled in usage of)
1 Messenger’s Pack (combination art-tote and legitimate pack)
1 Walking stick (useful for beating off particularly angry tiktikkis and not much else)

Magic: Golem Crafting, high precision but low output.

Beginning City: Chel'el'sussoloth

Clan: None

Abilities and Skills: Uneducated in the “proper” arts of the drow (martial ability, nether summoning, mana arts, etc.), but spent his youth as a studio assistant for a Sullisin’rune and is subsequently a highly capable artist and has some knowledge in basic alchemy (the “I can put this red thing with this blue thing and make a green thing that goes boom” kind). Has innate talent for engineering, but most of his book knowledge of mana and physics was either self-discovered or found in various books bought/loaned/stolen from institutions of repute/plausible criminality.

Has basic theoretical knowledge of combat and mana arts, but is NOT a fighter.

Background:
Kae’gaza Ba’surodo was born to a commoner female who got pregnant of a fun time in the night with some male. She worked as the owner of a masonry firm and wished Kae'gaza to manage the family business when she was engaged in other affairs. To this effect, he learned the arts of the mason as well as basic physics (“Newtonian” motion, circular motion, thermodynamics, etc.). However, he was never formally educated in the various other aspects of what would be considered a "good education", instead spending his time working on projects for his mother. He eventually moved out and found work in a Val’Sullisin’rune’s studio, infuriating his mother in the process, using his knowledge of forces, torque, and general construction to create canvas frames and other contraptions to assist the Val. At some point, he and his mother reconciled during his employ under the Val'Sullisin'rune. He eventually was able to convince one of the painting assistants to teach him the art of drawing and painting and was summarily discovered to be of no small amount of talent. Further education found him on par with, if not better than, the original assistant he consulted. The Val took him under her wing, and he flourished. Years passed, and Kae’gaza established a small reputation in the artistic community as “that unusually skilled assistant of that one Val’Sullisin’rune”. By necessity, Kae’gaza learned, and became enthralled by, various applications of mana to mixing paints, creating plaster for walls and art, metallurgy (for sculpting and casting of statues) and a multitude of other practical mana techniques that would assist him in his later studies. It was at this point that he was found to have an unusual talent in engineering golems. He subsequently studied those for several years and became quite skilled at creating decorative golems. Unfortunately, true combat golems escaped his grasp, as no one was willing to teach him. He did manage to self-teach several useful, if not necessarily advanced, ways to create golems that could pull carts, filter air, etc. His abilities eventually allowed him to begin making a bit of money on the side selling generic decorative pieces and commissioned works in golems, metal-working, and art pieces, eventually gaining him enough money to foot enough of the bill for a studio of his own that his mistress was willing to provide the rest. He opened his studio a decade ago, earned money selling more decorative works and commissioned pieces, and furthered his own education in plausibly illegal ways. He was once caught, imprisoned, and nearly executed by the Sharen before his old mistress came over and provided some legitimacy to his claims to four textbooks on advanced golem creation. He still had to give them back though (sigh) and was fined a large amount of ada. He is still in debt to the Sharen, who come around once every year to extort money from his person. He is currently a working artist and temporarily (hopefully for only a short while) out of work. However, his reputation as an artisan has not been tarnished, and his capacity to create interesting effects with two foci and a block of stone is still known in some circles.

Description:

Personality: Generally cheerful and optimistic about his work, if slightly cynical about drow nature. Mildly naive about clan machinations and politics, but compensates by taking a “it’s just business” for all of his commissioned works and keeping anything remotely relating to politics at arms length. He is also unusually unfazable when it comes to gruesome deaths, though this may be due to various experiments on tiktikki.

Physical Appearance: Average height, average features, somewhat scrawny. No facial hair, hair is died brown at the roots and gradually lightens as it reaches the tips, which are white and hang to the base of the neck.

Clothing:
1 Red beret
1 Red traveling cloak, designed to protect against flying debris, flames, and the occasional mana explosion
Set of white shirt and brown pants
Dark brown jacket, accented at the hems, buttons, and collars with gold thread
Work boots designed to assist in climbing promontories and moving through plausibly noxious and generally foul substances.

Timezone: US Central Time, whatever that means for the rest of the world.

---

The intended purpose is to give me an avenue to increase my own abilities in art. If approved, I would plan to establish a thread titled "Kae'gaza's Studio" and accept commissions for weapons, armor, and general art pieces from various player characters. I would attempt to stay mostly canon and not upgrade any characters. Occasionally, I might post theoretical notes I conceive as "notebook pages" with associated designs of weapons, if applicable. However, none of these designs would really come into being. Finally, I would assume that any art I created, if part of a commission, would be used by the player character as an addition to their equipment.

After some discussion with Thalar, I thought I should make this absolutely clear:

KAE’GAZA ONLY DOES DECORATIVE OR ENTERTAINING WORKS.

He is NOT CAPABLE of creating a sword that will shoot fire and have the sword still be usable as a legitimate weapon. Now, if the sword did that and was used for a somewhat entertaining performance in the street, fine. But you cannot (and will not) expect to see a sword that will light on fire and actually slice through flesh. Other modifications and golems of similar use or scale are also impossible.

More examples:

Weaponized Fire Sword: NOT happening.
Fire Sword of Entertainment: Will Happen.

Mana Grenade: NOT happening.
Hand Held Mana Flashlight (VERY bright glowing ball that you turn on and off without using mana from your own body): Will Happen

Golem Combat Companion: NOT Happening.
Golem Pack Animal (that runs off when it sees danger): Will Happen.

Magic: Fire Sorcery. Can create and manipulate burning hot mana.

Beginning city: Chel'el'sussoloth

Clan: Merchant

Background: Born in Nuqrah'Shareh as the fourth (of seven) daughter of a merchant family associated with the Ill'hardro, Anara was raised by her eldest sister Len'ine, the keeper of the family's often empty home and manager of the family's funds, from her infancy until she was sixteen, learning the things one learns at those ages. Her childhood was comfortable, her family being wealthy for non Vals. Anara was found to have an instinctive grasp of music, as well as a sharp mind. She was also found to have the innate ability to manipulate fire. When Anara was seven, an accident while using this ability with an halme servant traumatized her, when she accidentally set the woman's hair ablaze. This accident caused Len'ine to find Anara a tutor in mana arts, and she spent five years being worked to the breaking point in learning to control her gift, to prevent further accidents.

Anara has been to almost every major city of the underworld, even travelling to the surface once. This was also when Anara became acquainted with the rest of her sisters, who also worked for her mother. The family was prospering, it's fingers in many pockets shipping everything from goblin slaves to finely crafted foci, and for a while they even considered beginning a minor clan, independant of the Ill'hardro. This changed sixteen years ago, due to the Nidra'chaal.

Anara was not in Chel'el'sussoloth during the Nidra'chaal uprising, however she did lose a sister during that time period to the fires of the Kyorls, and another became tainted. The family recovered financially, although the cost was severe in terms of ada. All of the family's resources in Chel were burnt to the ground, and a great many of their shipments of food were taken by refugees or soldiers of either faction in the aftermath. This forced Anara's mother to place more trust in her daughters to both make sure shipments were kept safe, and find new clientele to make up the cost, meanwhile also beginning to hire mercenaries to protect the cargo. Anara was thirty six at the time.

Anara is in Chel'el'sussoloth to ressurect the family's business within the city, after nearly sixteen years of her family having any kind of presence there. Ambition for new markets and new clients have lead her to set up near the Dragon's Den, as a way to scoop up both upper and lower class buyers for the wares her family trades. It's an aggressive market, but one she is more then willing to step up to.

Description: Standing just over six foot tall, with shoulder length spiky hair dyed green at the tips. Her Cyan eyes speak of a cutthroat attitude, while the floral tattoo designs that run from the tips of her ears to her cheeks speak of a slight playfulness of her past. When on business or in the markets, she wears a loosefitting blue cloak over a white tabard, giving the image of a professional and no nonsense businesswoman. In private, she wears much more comfortable clothing, often in all black.

Character: Anara'wata

Review: An interesting character, but unfortunately has several elements which contradict the world setting and common sense. First, it's unlikely that a thin metal plate will be able to stop a crossbow bolt. Recall that crossbows were expressly designed to pierce armor.

Speaking of which, I'm not quite sure how creating focused blasts of fire would be feasible in defeating armor. It's best to just note that your character has a certain level of proficiency in fire sorcery. You mention that your character accidentally set a slave's hair on fire and can create burning mana; this would be impossible unless there was a nearby flame. If you've ever seen the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, mana sorcery and high arts works fairly similar to elemental alchemy on that show as regarding control of elements and that one can't create something from nothing.

Note that drow age half as fast as humans do until they reach approximately sixty years of age (thirty in human years) where aging stops as long as they are within a sufficient field of mana, i.e. surrounded with mana producing life forms such as other fae. Younger drow will need less mana to subsist than older drow.

The bit about losing tens of thousands of ada sounds a bit extreme...as far as I know that is an undreamed of amount of funds for anyone who isn't a Val of a major clan.

Considering how much I've been confused about the ada thing, I've intentionally made it vaguer, but also gave more detail on how it was lost. Fixed the crossbow bolt thing, gave just a basic explaination of fire abilities. The story is that she was playing with fire as a child, and while doing so accidently set the slave's hair on fire. Added ten years to her age.

Name: Uuera'unkara [You-eh-ra oon-ka-ra] Nori'fu Sarghress (Female)

Race: Drowolath

Age: One-Hundred-Ten Years

Equipment: one Ada

Attack: A viscous-looking crescent axe (two-hands). It has a sharp spearhead on the off-hand side (Uuera'unkara is left handed).

Defense: Full-body, highland raider issue armor and an intricate helmet that gives the appearance of wolf fangs encasing the head.

Golem: A small eye has been affixed to Uuera'unkara's forhead. It resembles a usual Drow eye (though it is a light-brown Colour and is easily noticeable against her skin). It always appears to be open and offers her the ability to see a body's life force as coloured light. Her conventional sight through it is about half as strong as she sees through her natural eyes (in a sense of distance and accuracy. It is not useful for using ranged weapons if she for some reason can't focus through her normal eyes).

Personal items: Uuera'unkara generally carries with her one heatstone, a waterskin (made from several tiktikis' stomachs) and a one-point-five litre bottle of fine Sarghress scotch (made from fermenting clumps of algae).

Magic: Wind Sorcery (Novice). Her only useful skill is drawing on the moving air to focus it around her axe-head reducing drag from her swings (In completely stagnant air this doesn't work at all and in crowds or busy, bustling areas it has a small effect. It is only in a strong breeze that this ability is truly deadly).

Beginning city: Chel'el'sussoloth

Clan: Sarghress (subhouse: Nori'fu)

Background: Uuera'unkara Nori'fu Sarghress was one of three females born into the Nori'fu house during what would have been the winter months one-hundred-ten years ago. Her mother is Iori [ee-ohr-ee] Nori'fu Sarghress; a strong-willed, highly independent woman whom worked as an assassin for many years before becoming a mother for the Nori'fu house (Since her retirement from the world of taking lives she has given birth to as many as eight children, six of which are female giving her a good reputation among clan elders and leaders).

Uuera'unkara's father, Ssinssrig, was a member of the highland raiders and frequently took part in long-traveled missions on the surface. He died in an ambush when some thirty goblins overtook his squad's camp with the aid of siege weaponry that utilized flaming projectiles and boiling, black oil. His death was reported around Uuera'unkara's thirtieth year at which point she had only just learned that her father was a highland raider (though she never saw his face or even knew his name).

Upon her discovery of her innate, wind-based abilities and at the age of twenty Uuera took up tutelage under an experienced male axe-fighter named Lo'ek Sarghress. They trained together for twelve years until Lo'ek felt she was ready to handle the battlefields of small wars with her skill. Feeling the influence of her father's genetics within her, she then took up her axe and joined the Highland Raiders.

From the age of thirty-two and on Uuera has been working with the Raiders to bring back many highly valuable relics and treasures for her clan and house. Over time she had earned her armour and had a helmet made to resemble a wolf with open maw. She then saved as much Ada as she could while still taking care of her needs and after seventy-eight years was finally able to afford a Golem. She wanted to be able to sense living things around her, however the best the craftsman could offer was an eye. She thought it a fitting addition to her physique.

Uuera'unkara thought that there was nothing better for her than a life of travel. High adventure and exotic locales drew her ever onward with her Highland brethren. Today she is a wonderful strategist and has been appointed to key positions in Raiding groups many times over, each time expressing her valor and strength in combat.

Description: Uuera'unkara stands six feet, three inches tall, has deep, purple eyes and long hair that reaches just past her waist. She has the top of her hair dyed red and the rest is pulled back into two long, braided ponytails that extend down from the back of her helmet. her armour is dyed in varying shades of blue and her hemlet is gold in colour. She is quite beautiful and speaks with a soft, deep voice giving her an aire of experience and womanhood.

Name: Lei’lana Sarghress

Race: Drowolath

Age: 95

Equipment: Lei’lana tends to travel lightly, not because she finds it to be more convenient but because she simply hates to lug around more weight than she finds absolutely necessary. On her person she has…
Her sabre: A gift from her mother after she came of age, this fine weapon seems to be out of place on a common Sarghress solider. The weapon weights roughly 6 lbs. and is carried in a hardened leather sheath on the left side of her hip. Thehilt is inlaid with traces of silver, forming an intricate dragon pattern that runs the length of the hand-guard. The weapon itself is just less than 30 inches in length, with the blade taking up the majority at 27 inches of length. Made of solid steel this blade seems fit more for a member of nobility or a merchant than for a solider on a battlefield.
Armor: Colored red and fashioned from a chain shirt and bits of plate she could scrape together this roughshod set of armaments isn’t quite up to par in terms of quality. The chainmail shirt she wears under the plates seems to be of higher quality than the rest, the rings made of higher quality steel than the plates she fastened over them. With the shirt extending down to her waist and the sleeves falling down to her wrists it offers exceptional protection from weapons like swords, and with the addition of a breastplate to shield her vitals the only weakness this armor seems to have is to weapons that smash, like maces of clubs which could be used to deliver massive blunt force trauma or even collapse the metal itself. To compliment this Lei’lana also has a set of matching red colored plated greaves, which extend from her upper thighs down to her ankles, where they slip over her boots. She doesn’t seem to have any protection for her groin however, leaving her undergarments exposed if one were to look closely. This has often leading to prodding from her fellows as to exactly what- sort of person she is when off-duty.
Knife: More like a stiletto than a combat weapon this thin blade seems more like a weapon a woman of station would carry when out on the town. Useful for shiving a nasty unwanted guest or for cutting a throat, the thin blade allows it to be hidden without much effort. She keeps it tucked behind the Right greave of her leg armor, pressed against her thigh and secured by a leather strap.
Other effects include:
A tin cup
A pouch for carrying small items, like money or pens, nothing bigger than a hand.
5 ada- These are special in that Lei’lana seems to have bitten each coin multiple times, as evident by the numerous teeth marks. She does this for fear of receiving counterfeit money.
A hand mirror. You never know when your hair is out of place!

Magic: Alongside basic mana arts that all of her kind possess Lei’lana was shown to have an affinity for earth based sorcery as a child. Unfortunately she was never allowed to pursue an in depth study of the mana arts and combining it with her tendency to simply disregard things that are too difficult for her she never got above a novices understanding of the art. That being said if her life was in mortal peril and she was to fall back upon her mana than it wouldn’t be surprising for her to collapse a pile of loose rocks with her power or perhaps re-shape a small amount of earth.

Beginning city: Chel'el'sussoloth

Clan: Sarghress

Background: Lei’lana Sarghress was not always Lei’lana Sarghress. In fact when she was born she belonged to an entirely different clan altogether. Born to a mother whom held a position as a merchantess of some renown within the Nal’Sarkoth clan, Lei’lana was groomed from day one to one day succeed her mother and take over her family’s portion of the Nal’sarkoth merchant empire. With that in mind Lei’lana have a very strict and altogether very dull childhood, filled with studies into what types of goods sold best at which time of the year, or perhaps what type of business deals tended to turn out most favorably. She never had a chance to play or enjoy her youth, as it was spent under constant tutelage and the watchful eyes of her family. This would lay the foundation for her dissatisfaction with her clan.

Time would pass by and Lei’lana would finally grow into adulthood, taking with her many things from her childhood. Among these things was a strong sense for business, rivaling even that of her mother, but also a fierce hatred for the confines of her position. She hated it so much in fact that after she accepted her position as associate head of her family, along with her sword and no small amount of money to start her own business she immediately delegated the responsibility to her younger sister, citing that ‘she wasn’t cut out for this kind of work’ as her excuse. Instead she loafed about her family’s home, occasionally leaving to waste whatever money she could find on cheap trinkets or ephemeral pleasures like alcohol or (wo)men. In fact rather than use the talents she had been given she found herself content to waste away in a life of what seemed like the worst fashion possible. This was her revenge. Her mother, outraged that the girl she raised to one day take over her position had so casually tossed everything aside, found her hands tied in what to do with the rebellious Lei’lana. On the one hand she debated simply having her daughter killed, however thoughts of backlash against her reputation served to pacify such thoughts. Instead her mother came up with a plan that would play upon the vices her daughter seemed so eager to flaunt, and in the end it would work.

Slowly Lei’lana found that the things she valued so much began to disappear. The money from her family gradually became smaller and smaller, until only a meager few coins trickled into her hands every few weeks. Soon more and more people from her family and her clan just refused to talk to her, always citing how busy they were or simply ignoring her altogether. Later on even the furniture in her room began to vanish until all she had was a mattress and a chair to keep her company, along with but a single change of clothes. Furious she barged into her mother’s study and, demanding an explanation as to why she was being treated so badly, received her punishment. In a furious exchange of words between the two, which involved no small amount of name calling, swearing and shouting, the tension between the two came to a peak. In a fit of rage Lei’lana stormed out of the room, shouting that she would no longer stand to be treated so poorly. She gathered what little she had left and without another word disappeared into the city, firmly believing that she would be able to find a better clan for herself to be a part of.
This wasn’t so easy, however, as very few were willing to entertain the notion of a scorned daughter joining their ranks simply because she was so angry at the woman who raised her. The fact that she had no real work ethic didn’t help either, and she simply refused to put the merchant skills she had been raised with to good use. So, in a last ditch effort to try and find a new place to call home she came to the doors of the Sarghress, whom took her in on the condition that she actually pitch-in and so long as she wasn’t afraid to get her hands bloody and shed her old clan affiliation she would be welcomed. So came to be Lei’lana Sarghress, one of the least driven Sarghress soldiers to date. She has spent most of her time trying to get the easiest assignments possible, supplementing her income with easy side jobs and usually blowing her money on things without a second thought. Still they keep her around, if nothing else she gets the job done with enough prodding .

Description: Lei’lana is a 6 foot tall woman with long white hair that extends down to the small of her back with a set of long bangs to match. Her complexion is one of the few things she cares about so she makes a point to keep her hair and skin as clean as possible, treating these parts of her body as sacrosanct. Other than this she has a shapely figure hidden behind her patchwork armor, though she never makes much of a move to flaunt her ‘assets’. She has however dyed exactly one of her bangs red, as per Sarghress tradition and it hangs on the right side of her face. She can typically be found in her armor, sword at her side, avoiding her commander as much as possible. She is a lazy individual despite some natural talent, preferring to get the job done with as little effort invested on her part as possible, perhaps because she still believes the world owes her some sort of payment for how ‘badly’ she felt she was treated as a child. That in mind she’s also quite childish and materialistic, valuing money and outward appearance over personality and depth. She still has some growing up to do that is for sure.

Name: Aaron’Natill (last name n/a) (Aftre reviewing and reading up even more of older applications and etc. I thought I needed to change a few things up for better specifications.)

Race: Drowolath (male)

Age: 42

Equipment:
Weapons-Short steel halberd, a fruit knife with wooden handle, stout wooden cudgel with steel core.
Carries inside his coat small trade goods such as relics, high quality gems, chocolate (in special containers so as to not melt them), snacks, spare ada (15-20), and small camping items (no mana required items).
A single large travel satchel filled with clothing and other living needs for the drowolath on the go.
(this includes food, spare clothing, and a few items only Halmes would use for light.)

Ability/Power/Curse: Draining mana

Beginning city: Val'Raveran

Clan: N/a

Notes*-Originally the mothers conception was affected by a incident involving ruins from the Moon Age during a relic hunt with husband a half breed of Drowussu/Drowolath, to help explain me using the term "husband" in a loose sense of bonding on a more intimate level then that of a say casual lovers. The total background story for my character was actually a story that was changed to fit in to the Drow's universe, but I changed it again after it ended up being 5 pages long. I've tried to add more from my second revision to this considering some issues I felt needed to be taken in hand.

Background: (before birth)-Born to a merchant’s daughter, who was 5th in line, Her mother was strict, controlling and had desired more from her then any one could truly hope to obtain.she had left and joined with a small cult she had been seeing and working with. It had contained many friends from the past. All talented weavers of mana, and tainted excluding a few. Being untainted and the strongest of them all considered by them, she took place in probably their only crowning achievement. To replicate the separation of ones “Soul”, like the Sharess long past. With small fractures of history and knowledge passed, gained through relic hunters and other sources. They cobbled together a method they thought would work, in hopes of reaching the demons world and gaining power to change the world they lived in.

It partially worked, they managed to separate her “Soul” and she did manage to go to the other side, but was brought back like a rubber band, bringing back nothing asides from tainting, and death. Demons possessed the few untainted and many of her friends and allies died that day. Running with the few tainted, stopped stopped at the cave entrance to their failed ritual. Apt at stone and earth, she sealed the entrance, with her remaining allies quickly dispersing with any escaped no-physical demons. They left that day going on their own, each fearing what had happened. While one left fearing what was now in her.

She left and joined a group of relic hunters that business had been done with in the past. One in particular she had been seeing was to be her future love for the rest of her life. She gained three things that day, a new start, a tainted soul, and discovery of pregnancy.

(After) Aaron was born through a difficult labor that took its toll on his mother,. Her love had manged to help her set up a trade caravan in Val'Raveran. When he was born, the first thing they noticed was his left eye was blood red while the other was a light blue. This was unheard of, and worried them both. As far as she could tell his aura was unaffected, though weaker then average. It was quickly discovered he no skills in mana manipulation to the simplest forms like light much to the disappointment of the parents. They loved him all the same, both of his parents left with the caravan, raising him on the go. Roads were his home, and teachers were whom he traveled with and his parents. Learning different skills, ranging from fighting with a variety of weapons, he took a interest in the halberd most. Following these were language skills, and a few things that could be useful in travel above and below. While he lacked mana arts, he held strength and speed that would take years of training. As he grew, something became very apparent, mana had begun to become more drawn to him.

Unchecked and left to go as he did, mana would slowly be drawn to him, like water in a sink. Lights in any city under, would flicker, anything storing mana would begin to leak. It became worse with direct contact, going so far as to completely shut down a golem. Soon, his parents decided to keep him above ground to see if that would help, all it did was cause the draining to become more focused to any fae in his presence. Much to the shock of his mother, she began to spend more days above ground when the caravan left to return below. Staying with her son in hopes of finding a way to control and temper his curse as she called it. Without mana he would complain of wracking pains and hunger.

It was from this that his mother died in her sleep spending days above ground with only her power to draw from and no progress in any training or method. When his father returned shortly after, he was met with two sites of horror. His one true love lying dead in bed, and his son crying. Overcome with grief, he lashed out at his son, attacking him with a knife, blaming him for everything.

His son fought back, wrestling with his father. Despite his size and strength he fell shortly after a slash to his sons left eye, with a swift quick, a snatch, and at last a stab. His father fell dead, Sad, depressed, conflicted, and most of all broken, he left taking with him what he could on his fathers Koa'Naka. Left to wander above ground he lived as he could. Sticking away from any fae in general and living as he could. The face as he left was that not of one who knew he would be consumed by a demon, but rather that of a soulless one. At the age of 23 was when many of his hopes and dreams died

Filled with sorrow over the loss of his parents, knowing that he'd never be able interact with any fae unless he could master his curse.Eventually he learned to control his drain, through focus and concentration and an endless tirade of his own inner demons (not ACTUAL demons).

The only side effect to his new found control was increased hunger, and headaches. His left eye eventually healed, but he wore an eye patch to hide it. He rejoined the trade routes and drow’s again after he felt that it was under control. Easily able to drain enough to curve his need, and his aura being relatively normal, he fears no persecution from Val’Kyorl’Solenurn, and briefly traveled with them, even with an empath she could apparently only see the surface of his thoughts. Another odd trait he gave thanks and curses towards his oddity.

Trading in relics and rarity's he had found or accumulated over his self made exile, he manged to establish good business in the city of his birth.
Using Val’Raveran as his base of operations; even though Tainted are considered outlawed there later to his dismay, he still managed to be able to do business and maintain his contacts.

Description: Clothing-He wears a leather coat with many pockets on the inside, underneath is mail sandwiched between soft leather and beneath all that are underclothes. If he isn’t wearing that, he tends to go with spider silk robes in dark shades for negotiations and formal issues. Black eye patch, and a scar stretching across his left eye downward are only real facial features worth noting. Doesn't drink alcohol, and tends to shy away towards any close relations due to his trait.
Standing at 6’3”, weighing in at 177 lbs., with shoulder length hair in a short ponytail streaked green.

Time Zone/Activity: Pacific Time Zone, and daily when not held up by anything serious.

Note: Unsure if "mana drain" is an actual affinity. Furthermore, almost certain that backstory will not meet acceptable guidelines for roleplaying.

On the other hand: this sounds like an AMAZING character for a fan fiction. Seriously.
