[Andromeda - You are cleared to land at docking bay 33C]

The voice of one of the Orion Space Station security and civilian relations officers came over one of the coms that were installed in the spaceship known as the Andromeda. The ship itself was of military design, armed to the teeth and equipped with state of the art technology. Its streamline look brought the eyes of a couple other ship pilots and crews to glance over in its direction as it came into the docking bay. Ships of all types lined the area, locked into place with gravity stabilizers and magnetic holds that were latched down upon them.

From inside the Andromeda, a female Drow sat in one of the two pilots seats. She had her elbows propped up on the armrests of the seat, hands grasping each other. A monitor inside of the cockpit showed that the ships A.I. had taken over and was making sure the ship landed and docked at the right area. A soft blue glow emitted from the magnetic latches that came down on either side of the ship. The main control panel for the ship showed two red columns on a figure of the ship, showing that it was now safe to leave and locked into place.

Without saying a word or making much noise at all, the female Drow rose from her feet and left her ship, stretching her body and letting out a heavy yawn. As soon as the doors to her ship opened, a security officer was standing there, in full body armor. He waved the female Drow over and pulled out his data pad, "Name, name of your ship, reason for visiting, you know the regulations." The female Drow showed her badge that said Special Forces upon it before reading off her name. "Kyndariana, Andromeda, I am here because I live on the space station, you know this already."

The security officer nodded his head, "I know, but it’s my job to ask these questions, you are clear to go. Sorry for the inconvenience ma'am, and please enjoy the rest of your day." Without saying another word, Kyndariana and the security officer went on their own way. The space station Orion had a population of roughly thirty two million people from all walks of life living within it. Orion was also the central hub for the Colitis galaxy cluster, all government and major aspects of life were taken care of from there.

Spending the last twenty-four hours on patrol with only her ships A.I. to talk with, left Kyndariana worn out both mentally and physically. At this point, all she wanted to do, all she wished for, was to avoid anyone that wanted to talk to her and head straight to bed. Thankfully for her, the walk was not far, and she managed to take a shuttle to the rows of homes that overlooked the lush presidium garden. The homes were more of very large apartments that were built neatly into one side of the presidium. The lights to her room instantly came on, a soft ambiance filled the room from them.

Kicking off her shoes into the corner near the door, she walked over to her bed and tossed herself onto it. The blinds to her room closed by themselves and within minutes, she had drifted off to sleep. Nine and a half hours passed before she awoke, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The TV to her room flipped on, the news about random things filled the room with noise while she stood up and made her way into the bathroom.

The sound of running water from the shower could be heard as well as jazz that played from speakers in the bathroom that she had personally installed. Surprisingly, unlike most things in her home, the stone floor and walls of the shower was not made out of metal, it was made out of a fine polished black stone. The mirrors in the bathroom started to fog from all the steam coming from the shower. The hot water helped work out a couple tense areas that were left in her muscles, putting her into a state of euphoria.

A half an hour would pass before she stepped out of the shower and dried off, putting her military clothes back on and heading out of her room. The time on her datapad showed [9AM] and she was swiftly heading in the direction of her favorite cafe on the presidium level of the Orion space station. Thankfully, the cafe gave a military discount on the weekends, and she was not about to let that go to waste, especially after the extremely busy and stressful week she had been through.

The cafe was designed to look like an old world tavern, its walls and floors were wood and it even had gas lanterns that illuminated the rooms. The seating outside overlooked a small forest and waterfall that had holographic animals running through it every once in a while. There was only one place on Orion that was like this, and it was clear that someone with a lot of credits and power had created it. Kyndariana did not think on this much at all, in fact it very rarely ever crossed her mind.

The two thick wooden doors opened to the cafe, and Kyndariana was greeted by the sound of music, laughter, talking, and general noise one would hear in a place of food. Taking in a deep breath through her nose, the delicious smell of freshly made breakfast foods filled her. Heading to the back of the cafe that overlooked the small forest, she took her usual seat.

Thoughts of the day before ran through her head while she waited for someone to server her. It did not take long before a waiter walked by her and handed her a menu, a cup of hot coffee and a cinnamon roll. "Good Morning Kyndariana, are we going to have the usual here or will you be picking out something different from the menu this time?" The waited, looked at Kyndariana with a smile, his brown eyes meeting with her blue. "French Toast, a side of three scrambled eggs, and some fruit please." she closed the menu and handed it to the waiter. He bowed before heading off into the kitchen relay the order to the chefs.

She added a small amount of cream into her coffee, stirring it with her fork for a couple of seconds before bringing it to her lips. This was something many people argued with her about but she thought that the cafe now as "The Royal Oak" Leaning back in her char, she crossed her arms over her chest, every once in a while unfolding them to take a bite of her cinnamon roll or drink her coffee. The cafe was full of people, she had a feeling she was bound to see some friendly faces eventually while being there.

A cargo ship docked without much cerimony, the crew got off and passed the Security Officer flashing IDs and responding to questions. A Ssu named Labran'che would wait for the crew to disappear from sight before he walked out of the docking tube. He zipped up his dark brown jacket and slung a duffle bag over his shoulder before he pulled the yellow hood under his jacket over his head. Trying to walk past the guard with just a, ID flash. "Hey buddy you know the drill." "Oh come on man, I just got shit canned." A hand would go on the Officer's weapon, "Fuck alright," Che pulled back the hood and held up the ID again, "Wes'ly, IIS Ewa Maru, Seeking employment." The guard entered the info into the data pad before he scanned the ID. "Says here the Ewa Maru only has 20 crew, you make 21." Che glared at the Officer, "Yeah asshole I told ya I was FIRED. Seams like paperwork travels faster than the ship." The Officer looked down at the Pad again then looked Che over, "You were in the Military?" Che looked back, "Yeah, Logistics. Can I go now? I got unemployment to collect and another Job to find." The Officer stared at Che before handing the ID back, "Stay out of trouble." Che grabbed it and stuffed it into his pocket, "Trouble needs to stay out of me." He would walk past and smiled, pulling his hood back up. Getting out of earshot, "Jackass. All cops are Jackasses..." snorting and spat on the wall as he rounded the corner, tossing the ID into a trashcan, "Guess you're good for something after all, dad..."

After a bit of wandering Che found himself at a rather curious place, Smells like a restaurant, that's because it is. He would enter the establishment and scanned the crowd. Need to find a Mark. Nobody's sitting alone. What about that guy? Che would look towards a lone customer that cupped the ass of a male waiter. We're not that desperate... He smiled when he saw Kyndariana sitting alone, She'll do, time to ramp up the pathetic. War Vet? War Vet, everyone feels sorry for them. His grin faded and his face went from it's normal cocky to more of a scared look. Walking up to Kyndariana, "'Excuse me, miss?" Waiting for her to look at him, "Care to help a down on his luck War Vet of her Majesty's 23rd Light Infantry?" Anyone in the military would know the Queen's 23rd was a Heavy Golem Brigade. His stomach would grumble at that moment, Fuck that's good timing.

Garrus stared down the sight of his C79 optical sight. Burning plasma holes around the bulls eye, at the other end of the firing range, with his his new Rk 95 rifle.

He transferred to the Orion space station about 2 months ago, and he was still getting use to the new equipment they had here. And the fact he cant smoke anymore while on the station. So he had to pick up other bad habits to fix his nicotine habbit. And, it came in the form of good old smokeless cigarettes. Or just Snuff.

He was sitting on his duffel bag and leaning his back to a wall. Different ships passed by the window he was looking out from time to time. He paid more attention onto PDA on his hands. "Cargo. Transport. Old. Civilian. Do they still fly those?" Man muttered to himself as the information of ships changed on his PDA. This kept going on for a while as he evaluated the ships passing by. Then one ship got his attention. Only information the PDA showed from that ship was it's name and class, nothing else. "Andromeda... military class. And nothing else? Not even the docking place... Damn." He stood up and showed the PDA into the bag before throwing it on his back.

Maintenance elevator door opened at the darker back alley at street level and he walked out. He watched for maintenance worker who had promised him some creds if he fixed the glitch in the system for him. "Try to do something good for a change and then people just ditch you..." He said while rubbing his head in frustration. His stomach grumbled a little. He shook his head and headed to the crowded street in hopes of finding a place to eat with the last few credits he had. Soon he saw a sign pointing at some cafeteria. He opened the door and peeked inside. It looked pretty cozy compared to places where he usually ate. He walked in and sat onto empty table and took his pda from the bag. He eyed it for the moment before his ears picked out and interesting start of a conversation near his table. He started listening. Waiter came by a moment and he ordered a coffee and a sandwich.

The datapad sitting upon Kyndariana's table started to softly beep, pulling her attention away from the holographic forest and back to reality. "What is it now, can I not get a moments rest with out being contacted by work?" she thought to herself. Placing her hand on its screen, it unlocked itself and fully powered up before pulling up the message she had received. "Oh good, its from command, couldn't they wait until afternoon to contact me?" With a sigh, she crossed her legs and leaned back in her chair, datapad in her hands. The message was not text based, but in fact a video. Pulling out a small pair of earphones, she plugged them into the datapad and played the message. Her Generals voice came up through the earphones, with the image of a space station upon the screen on the data pad.

"Kyndariana, this is General Lanus with the fifth fleet special operations crew. I hate to call you back into duty after all you have done for us but you are the only one I can trust with a mission that is this sensitive. If the general public found out there would be a political shit storm and a lot of flack would come our way from the counsel. Now, the situation at hand is a mess, we lost contact with a large research facility called Trinity in the Hades Gamma cluster. The space station is very large, in fact its one of the largest in the galaxy and it holds a very large amount of important information that is critical for the science and technology sector of the galaxy's government. What little information I have on the current situation is that a crew bought an artifact back from the planets surface and shortly after, the station went black. We need you to find out what happened to Trinity, and report your findings back to us. Your pay will be considerably high, and more government benefits will be added to your personal file. If you accept this mission, you can reach me in my officer via the military sector of Orion. General Lanus out."

"Damn it, I had plans for this week." said Kyndariana under her breath as she pressed a button on the datapad, accepting the mission. She turned off her datapad and slipped it into her backpack before resting in her seat once more. Right when she did though, she noticed someone had approached her table. Her blue eyes peered up at the man who seemed to be wearing a flight jacket, rather close in design to the one she was wearing. An emotionless face was her response after he had finished talking to her. "Majesty's twenty third Infantry hmm?" She said, her eyes meeting his. "Heavy Golem Brigade, I know of the twenty third. I am more of a Mech-Warrior solider myself. I hear they are phasing those useless and greatly over rated golems out of service, its about time they did that. I kept telling my superiors that Mechs are a hell of a lot more effective and reliable on the battlefield, even if artificial intelligence is controlling them." She paused and motioned for the man to sit down in the seat across from her, "You can join me if you wish, it has been a while since I had talked to someone who use to work in the field I also use to work in, way back when."

Her food was delivered as soon as she had finished talking, it looked and smelled amazing, and was presented very beautifully. Kyndariana leaned back in her chair and just looked at the for a couple of seconds, admiring all the effort that went into making it. "Would you like something to eat Sir? Its the least I could do for a veteran." Her eyes met his and narrowed slightly in irritation. The waiter standing next to her raised his hand and spoke, "There is no charge here for veterans Kyndariana, you and his meal are free of charge." She shrugged and leaned forward slightly, grabbing onto her fork and picking up a strawberry with it before taking a bite out of the side. "So you said you needed help with something, what would that something be?" she placed her fork down and took a sip of her hot coffee. "Oh, I never did catch your name, I am Kyndariana, special operations. I would tell you more about my job but then I would have to kill you." A smirk spread across her face.

Che's ears twitched when she mentioned the 23rd. Shit. His eyes darted around looking for an exit or a table to flip over and cause chaos to cover his escape. "Well I'd disagree with them being useless. They'd need to fill more of a support role for lighter units, ya'know?" He'd heard his father talk about such things and for the most part he was bullshitting to buy time. He would finally sit down when she gestured to him. He stared at her food. Dude, run. "Uh, yeah, could I get a hamburger patty, hashbrowns and scrambled eggs?" Fucking RUN. "Oh do you have any orange juice? Long trip." He waited for the waiter to leave before he lowered his voice. "Alright...I ain't a vet. I barely qualify as a military Brat...I was just trying to scam a meal out of someone..." He hesitated a moment, "You can call me Labran'che...so uh, what do I gotta do to keep you from kicking my ass and calling Security?" His voice noticeably changed. There was still a look of mild fear in his eyes as he stared at her.

Garrus took the train down town to get something decent to eat. The black beret didn't want to choke down miltary food for a change. "This place looks as good as any." Garrus said to himself as he entered cafe. It was mildly busy, lets hope he beat the afternoon rush.

Sitting down, he was handed menu. "Whats the special today?"

As the conversation went on on and the food arrived, he couldn't keep himself from leering at the other table. He took a sip from the coffee and tried not to cause any unwanted attention. As he heard two others discuss about uses of golems and mechs he decided to join in the conversation.

"May I join in the conversation?" he asked and just sat next to other male, without waiting for answer. "In my opinion mechs are way too vulnerable to electronic warfare. Too easily hacked or disabled by competent person. And name is Kur're, electronic warfare specialist." he continued.

Picking up her fork, Kyndariana cut off a piece of her cinnamon roll then brought it to her mouth, slowly chewing it. Her sapphire blue eyes stared intently back at Labran'che's. The military demeanor around her seemed to fade away as she chuckled softly, shaking her head back and forth. Once the piece of food had been swallowed, she grabbed onto her coffee cup and leaned back into the seat. "Well we can start with some honesty, I would like to know your real name, what you do for a living, and why you feel you need to scam people for free food." The mug of coffee was bought to her lips, where she took a sip before placing it back down onto the table top. "You could have just asked someone if you are truly that unfortunate." She paused and the all to familiar smirk was once gain spread across her face. "Or you could join the military like myself and have all those amazing benefits."

Kyndariana glanced down at her breakfast and picked up her fork once more, stabbing a piece of well done back and bringing it to her mouth. She was about to bite into it before she heard the voice of the newcomer. It seemed that he had decided barging into the conversation instead of using manners and waiting for a pause. With a sigh, Kyndariana set her fork down onto her plate and crossed her arms over her chest. "In all the many years I have worked as special forces, I have not once heard of a mech being hacked or shutdown by electronic warfare that was powerful enough." She pointed at the empty seat next to Labran'che, motioning for him to take a seat and join them. "I am Kyndariana, this is Labran'che, and free food today for veterans." She motioned to her food before taking a bite out of the piece of applewood smoked bacon that had been waiting patiently to unleash its blissful flavors of pure food ecstasy. "I am just glad you are not here to try and scam free food from me." with her eyes still looking down at her food, she pointed at Labran'che as if to say, "Ask him if you want to know what I am talking about."

After cutting a piece free from her french toast, movement out the corner of her left eye caught her attention. She turned her head and looked to the other side of the restaurant. Straining her eyes slightly she noticed that her friend Garrus was sitting at his own table alone. Pulling out her data pad, she glanced up at her company, "Please give me a moment, I need to send a message to a friend." Glancing back down at her datapad, she pulled open the message application upon it and quickly wrote up a message to Garrus. It said, "Good morning Garrus, I see you are also up early to grab some breakfast. Would you care to join me and a couple others on the opposite side of the restaurant you are sitting at? I am sitting near the back window that overlook the forest below." She pressed the send button and placed the datapad back into her side pocket. "So, if you would not mind, tell me about yourselves."

Che was looking more at Kyndariana's food than the woman herself. He looked back at her, looking like he was ready to run, "Fine...Labran'che Dutan'vali'er. Yeah...that Dutan'vali'er." The last name belonged to Che's mother, and a field Commander known as 'Blood And Guts' Myr'inil Dutan'vali'er. He was just about to run when his food arrived, sitting back down and stuffing his face, waiting for the waiter to leave. "I don't do shit," stuffing some eggs into his mouth, "execpt maybe whore myself out once in a while. That's why I scam for food. And it's bit late for that Dropship, so stop with the Recruiter spiel." He looked over at the newcomer, sititng up a bit straighter but still downing his food quickly. The waiter showed up, "Is there anything else I can get you?" Che grinned, "A refill please, and another order of hashbrowns?" He would continue on as if they were talking about Golems and mechs the whole time. He giggled, "Ah, you must not have read the After Action Reports from New Waia'nae Colony, against them cultists." He would stuff his face, "Though...Ah supposh haa whash." Swallowing, "more of a Police Action than Military. Still, that was a new BeldCorp Model 25A2c, which has got the same anti ECM systems as the Mk 29A1s that are being phased in to service for the Army and Marine Ground Garrisons." He would look at Kyn a moment and the other guy too, still eating and wondering if it was too late to run. Dude...flip the table and FUCKING RUN! This table's heavy as fuck, probably throw my back out trying. Then uncap the pepper shaker and fling that shit in their faces. No, I've got another order coming up. You're gonna get us caught, wouldn't be surprised if all three of em were bounty hunters. He looked over at Kur're, This guy's so AJ Squared Away if I shouted 'Commandant on Deck' he'd flip the table over on his way to salute. He kept eating, looking clam on the outside despite the mental store that was brewing in his head. He was really hoping Kyn wouldn't try to do a background check on him.

Garrus felt the rumble of his data pad, as someone texted him. "Hmm, Kyn." He stood up a bit and looked around, seeing her sitting with another Suss. Why the hell not, he never did like eating alone. As the waiter came back with his drink, the suss told him he was going to sit over there, with them now.

With his coffee in hand, he walked up to the table. "Hi guys. Kyn." He nodded, "Mind if I join you all?"

He nodded and sat next to Che. He looked in those blue eyes across the table and realized how rude he had been. "I... uhh... sorry for just storming in the table and... interrupting you two. he looked down to the table. He took the sandwich from the duffle and took a bite. "And I would not descend on that level that I would try to scam food from people. And about mechs. Of course they don't go yelling around that there are some faults in the programs of the AI. And also if ships can be shut down with proper equipment why not mechs?" he said while destroying the sandwich.

He eyed Che for a moment. Sounds pretty nuts. But maybe I'll live. He heard question about who they were. He sighed heavily. "Long story short... Names Kur're no family name because never had one. Raised back at some small forgotten space station, got recruited to the army and then they putted me in the Electronic "Warfare" branch. Got kicked out because hacked some AIs to prove how dangerous they can be. And... well... been stuck to this station for ages doing shitty jobs no one else wants to do. he sounded really sad while telling about himself. He had nodded in agreement for the newcomer to join in."And I played chess back in the day."

The French toast Kyndariana had ordered had finely cooled off enough to the point of where she could eat it. Her fork dug into into the meal and cut a piece free, which was promptly brought to her mouth. With her left hand, she motioned for Garrus to sit down next to her. After swallowing her bite, she patted her friend on the shoulder, "Good morning my friend, I was not expecting to see you here." The waiter brought Garrus's food over to their table and placed it down gently in front of him, as well as a set of eating utensils and a cup of coffee. "If you require anything else, please let me know and I will assist you." The waiter quickly turned and left to help serve other customers. Kyndarianas sapphire blue eyes moved away from her food and up at Labran'che, "Whoring yourself out is a poor way to live your life Labran'che, at least with the military it will give you something to live and fight for, as well as all those other benefits. I can even put in a good word for you, you look fit enough to skip the physical training part as well."

While taking a sip of her coffee, she watched as Kur're pull a sandwich out of his duffle bag and immediately start to eat it in a frenzied way. "You know the food here is free this morning for the military, right?" she asked with a look of slight confusion. "Guess he just rather have that sandwich." she thought to herself. Leaning back in her chair, she pulled the datapad from the pocket on her pants and started to read through the new message. "Hmm, well shit, there has been a change of plans and I am..." Kyndariana paused talking as she saw movement of what appeared to be special forces units out the corner of her left eye. "Being ordered to meet with a special forces squad commander to be give star-charts." The soldiers walked over to their table, wearing full bulky armor that covered their whole body. "You are Kyndariana correct?" Kyndariana looked around the table then back up at the soldiers followed by a nod of her head. "You and all of your companions are ordered to follow us for a briefing." Kyndariana raised an eyebrow, "For what? I already have my orders. These people have nothing to do with..." one of the soldiers cut her off.

"We were given the right to use force against any of you who did not comply." There was a long sigh, Kyndariana nodded her head and motioned for everyone to follow the special operations soldiers. She slid out of her seat and placed a tip on the table before walking along side one of the soldiers as they exited the restaurant. The other held up the rear, making sure no one tried anything stupid, like making a run for it. "There had better be a good reason for this interruption, I am on rest and relaxation that came from the chain of command." Looking over her shoulder at Labran'che, she shrugged lightly and said, "Looks like you were just drafted."

"Yeah, hacking an AI'll do that to your career..." He downed his orange juice and kept eating. He narrowed his eyes at Kyn and her continued attempts to recruit him. "Maybe, but I'm living my life how I want, not how some Cunt I popped out of wants me to." He finished his second order of food when he saw black armor outside of the Cafe. Holy shit. There's no way they'd send SpecOps on my ass, not someplace public, and not this quick either. He pulled an OD wool knit cap from his duffle and pulled it down as low as he could on his head, using the brim to hide his eyes. "If you'll excuse me I gotta use the bath...room...fuck." Che slowly raised his hands as the SpecOps team stormed the Cafe. So many screams filled Che's mind. He wanted to shout 'bomb' 'terrorist' anything that might start a panic and give him a chance to escape. With his hands still raised he looked at Kyn when she said he was drafted. He tried to jump out of his chair and away from the table when one of the Soldiers caught him by the neck and pushed his face down into the table, "HELP! I'M BEING OPPRESSED!" A stun baton crackled near his face, "Right, shutting up..." Before he knew it he was on his feet and his hands cuffed behind his back, maple syrup on his face and his cap knocked askew. "This is why I like whoring better. I can charge a marking fee for this kinda shit." He looked defeated.
