130605 Training from Hel

Postby suntiger745 on Thu Jun 06, 2013 12:51 am

No work tomorrow so I can stay up and post the info about the page.

Don't worry, Xenon didn't really make Alkarasu carry her on her shoulders, she was just teasing. ;)

I think Raeth's actually supposed to be back in the city with the kids but I wanted Lua'nar to have company when Zephyr came to ask her about mana efficiency while she was relaxing and I couldn't come up with a more fitting option than Raeth giving her a massage. Sure there's Vishka but she's usually busy. So he got tossed in anyway. Let's say he's been along for this trip (but not the previous ones) and has been keeping a low profile. He did help the healers with the wounded during the fighting at the Nal outpost.
Also, Raeth and Vishka has been exchanging tips on how to give a good massage. They may or may not have an informal competition to see who can first make their 'client' melt into a puddle of contentment and relaxation. ;)

By the way, Lua'nar isn't blowing Zephyr off by telling him to go speak with the engineers. The concept of leverage is important to grasp how to be effiecient with your mana and the engineers use that in a very direct manner easy to understand which can then be applied when you do things with mana.

Elhvir has begun construction of the fighting golem, with Gultyrr pitching in out of boredom. And the hope of a kiss or three from Wei'rune no doubt.
Alas, the head cook had need of Wei'rune's talents in the kitchen. The training regiment will make the warriors and scouts (and anyone else who joins in) very hungry indeed.

Not really happy with this page. I tried to mention the bits that there wasn't room to show but the result is not good. It's the antithesis of "show, don't tell" wich is what sequential art is supposed to excell at.
Instead I'm running counter to that and it shows.
If people prefer that I try to include mentioning things in conversations I'll keep doing it though. The alternative is that it neither gets mentioned nor shown after all. :(

I like a casual mention when space constraints make it impossible to show, it let's all the readers know about things that are progressing.

You did well combining the near duplicate actions into a workable script.

How far is the completion of the 5 mk3 armors with the climate gems proceeding?

How many days left till the wargolem frame is ready for testing? I mean i understand only 1 limb has been shown but is there any progress so far?

Also i love the fact that you are trying to get everything shown or at least mentioned that the projects are advancing on schedule even if they did not get shown much.

He is, but that's okay, lol. Ninorok will likely go join his two lovers after his shift is over. ;) Everybody likes cuddle time(and massages!).

Sure there's Vishka but she's usually busy. So he got tossed in anyway.

An amusing and unusual situation, to be sure, but again, thanks.

Let's say he's been along for this trip (but not the previous ones) and has been keeping a low profile.

Keeping a low profile is exactly why even when I returned to PtP2 I did not post advise. I didn't want Raeth pictured in comic by my own actions. It's not about face time, it's about being true to my character. Raeth keeps a low profile. Keeping him out of the comic kept a low profile. So I am comfortable with this situation. It was not by my hand... how could it be? I cannot post advise and would not even if I had the option. Let 'em eat cake.

He did help the healers with the wounded during the fighting at the Nal outpost.

Was that shown in comic? I don't remember that.

Also, Raeth and Vishka has been exchanging tips on how to give a good massage. They may or may not have an informal competition to see who can first make their 'client' melt into a puddle of contentment and relaxation.

Low profile. ;) I would ask that if Raeth is presented again he is not depicted in company other than Lua'nar. If I have any real request it is that he NEVER be given dialog. I accept I (as everyone else here) handed over artistic and creative license to the character the moment I gave him a PtP profile, thus he is not my character to command and I have no legal right to demand that he be presented in a fashion of my choosing. I ask this merely as one humble writer to another. If he is depicted at all I should like to see him silent. Raeth should be seen and never heard. I have nothing to personally contribute to the community, I would wish for my character to reflect this position.

Arigato.

Hey suntiger, what's the status on the wounded? And how much time has pass since we left the previous Nal outpost? I'm kinda hoping my character will be back in tip top condition by the time we land at our destination.

Um... I'm not asking the senior engineers for help anymore, Suntiger. Nowhere in my advice or my PM about it did I say or imply I was doing that. The only person I might need help from now besides San (who is a mana specialist with golem knowledge and also my mate) is maybe Briminghurst, and he's already stated that he won't help until I find a foundry we can stay at long enough to build a prototype and the materials to do so. Which from what I can see is until we get back from Amavarde. So I'm focusing on the gems and what I might be able to do with them for now, starting with how I want the blasts to operate before I try to program the core matrices to imitate that.

do what you must. Though I feel that if there's just not enough room, some advices with low votes should be passed on. We have a terrible habit of piling on 8-12 advices (that only get 1-3 votes besides) before stopping to look for duplicates. Having to squish that many into one page (with limited artist resources) must be a pain.

Working on the golem now... Good, good. Hopefully we can get the thing up enough so we can start testing it out soon.
For the new event submit I've set up, I trust we can have enough materials for it, just takes time? Using the old lines to justify it...

minalia wrote:Also, the current wargolem is to be a piloted version it will not require so many gems. At best we only want to ensure that he locomotion parts of the wargolem be built. The offensive limbs and tails can be added later on. ^^;

That, or so that we could at least begin making the limbs and make sure they work in sync, if nothing else.

You can start making a basic framework, sure. Perhaps make some of the 'program gems'. You don't have much in the way of high quality armor (by golem standards; you do have good quality armor for people) sut some parts should be fine to work on.

I understand we are not getting every single control gem up (CONTROL, not program. Hence the quotation marks in the advice when I say we start "programming" the stuff. This is piloted golem after all, and two-seater no less), but hopefully we can at least start testing out limb movement and possibly even sync movement between multiple legs.
No power cores nor seats for pilot yet, so testers will sit on bare metal makeshift ones. No testing for too long to avoid mana drain or cramps in bottox ;)

Yes, "Kiss the cook" is a well-known law XD

Also, like I guess most readers, I enjoyed the update, so maybe you are too severe on yourself ;)
