Path to power 3 GUIDE FOR NEW PLAYERS!!!!!

Postby minalia on Sat Feb 09, 2013 12:35 am

This is a guide thread where fellow players can ask questions on how the game works.

Questions most players ask.

I've read the players guide but it doesn't answer some of my questions.
Is it any similar to Daydream voting wise and updates?
Any information you can give me would be appreciated.

Answer:

Yes it is the same system of voting as DD, but no you do not need to be subscribed in order to vote. You will need to be paying subscription in order to have the right submit advices and get your character shown doing the action you want him or her to accomplish. Also you can re edit your advice even after you submitted it if you think it sounds stupid or told by others that it just ain't possible to accomplish after a debate and even delete it in order to better rewrite it, but the second someone votes on it. Your advice will be locked and depending on how many votes it gets and how relevant it is to the main plot. The GM may get it shown if he believes it can solve a urgent problem even if it only gets 2 votes.

What you do in action is what will define your character if you posts warrior advices you will get shown wearing armor protecting the clan members who have no armors and weapons like myself. By submitting advices in golem making or even piloting the ship you might get shown doing this action or someone else who has more experienced will do so. After a few advices submitted Suntiger our GM will basically lock your character in some kind of role in the scripts he writes and it might take a while submitting advices of a different nature till he changes what kind of job your character is.

There is 2 updates, the event archive *right section* is always on Wednesday and the Leader archive updates on Friday. The time of update is the same as DD, its random and it can be late up to a day since it depends on how fast the comic artist can get the job done.

The Event Archive *EA for short* is where our clan does large scale actions in order to accomplish activities like defending the clan, relic hunting, inventing a new design, scouting, buying stuff from merchants and do other fun activities during weeks where the main action is to party.

The leader archive *LA for short* is more tricky since that is where we can ask NPC's like Anjhali, Badai, Milli, our dvergar friend Brim about their opinions on current events and even ask them to assist in helping out in some actions. Currently we asked Anjhali to deal with the intruders in the *EA* and she went to work while my character is dealing with Milli on the *LA* trying to convince her clan to help occupy the island so our clan can claim the shipyard to build new airships on the long run.

Kern is the GM on the leader archive while Suntiger is the GM of the event archive but Suntiger is the one that deals with answering and giving out meta knowledge on a weekly basis to inform of the clan in what could not be shown in the comic so we can understand better what is going behind the scenes.

Also Kern has a no bullshit tolerance, he will not tolerate trolls or folks who are upsetting other players because he made 1 hell of a example at kicking out one of the worst son of bitches the community had for ages. The clan has no drama other then deciding where we want to go next once the island story arc concludes in a few turns.

Questions that other players may ask:

Was wondering what the restrictions were when you create a character though.
And how the families work if they are separate from the clan or everyone is part of the same clan.

Answer:

Families are mostly there for role playing and being kind to certain players and having children by being in a couple with a mate of a different sex if you want to have a dokkalfar child since this is what happens when children are born on the surface they become dark elves and not drows. The current generation of the oldest children age is 14 years old.

Before the families were meant to become noble families if folks were willing to spend the cash but the change of plans in ptp3 has made it redundant. Nowadays they are mostly club of like minded players who enjoy role playing and hanging around talking and do actions if they like to coordinate stuff in the EA or LA.

To make a family you just need to speak with the GM and have a fellow player to join you in order to make it kinda official, its better if you find someone of the different sex in order to have a kid. *bigsmile*

As for restrictions? Ok its simple you can be a drow of tekaliath origins, a drowosu from the kyorl compound, a mimian drow from the nalsarkov clan and a halfblood chelian and a normal drow of chelian origins. We can also play as ferals, they have been shown to be very resourceful in scouting, climbing and doing certain activities no one sane enough would dare do..like stealing stuff incognito.

I need help on editing this whole mess (HELP!!!). But this will help new folks at wanting to give this game a try once they read this little guide. ^^;

A survivalist should not be a pessimist, he should always be positive, happy and enjoying life more than anyone else because he understands that each minute of peace we have is precious and unique, and he never takes it for granted.

Here are some general questions I had off the top of my head:

--What is the benefit of being a subscriber?

--How can I integrate a character that does not easily fit into the ptp setting?
Such as bringing in a Chelian from a major clan in MA's current conflict

--Is there a place to discuss voting options besides the shoutbox and forums?

--Can your character post options for both Leader and Events?

--Can your character appear in one section in one voting round, then be able to appear in the other comic section the following voting round?

--What is the benefit of being a subscriber?

Answer: Your character will get shown doing actions and be able to interact with the non player characters and may influence how our clan will deal with folks in big events and may even change the course of events by being able to submit advices. My character is one such being. So anyone can do what i can do and pull it off so long as they get good ideas and can have folks to back them up to make them into a reality.

--How can I integrate a character that does not easily fit into the ptp setting?
Such as bringing in a Chelian from a major clan in MA's current conflict

Answer: Simple, by joining our clan your character forfeits any prior allegiance to their old clan and must accept our way of life and swear absolute loyalty to our clan. All of their prior possessions then belongs to the clan itself to be used as it sees fit as this is a way to make all of our characters equal in terms of equipment and skills. The only limitations is that no driders, naga or Vel characters can be made to join the clan..yet. *wutno*

--Can your character post options for both Leader and Events?
Answer: Yes, if you subscribe you can post 1 advice in the Leader archive to talk with npcs and influence events and even collect information to better make a decision in what to do at a given event if you know all the facts beforehand and do wacky events in the Event Archive to make the clan stronger or do fun events like a massive party that might devolve in massive drinking, belly dancing and my favorite debauchery. *wee*

--Can your character appear in one section in one voting round, then be able to appear in the other comic section the following voting round?
Answer: Yes, but it depends entirely on how your character is played out. If you always post advices in the EA as a warrior and suddenly write a advice in doing something completely out of character, the folks who are better suited at that task will get shown instead of you. The role you play is determined mainly by the first few advices you post since our GM suntiger then pegs you as that role. Act like a leader and you wll get shown as a leader, act like a follower and you will get shown as a follower. You can submit advices in the LA as well and get featured in both pages. I do it all the time since i got a lot of questions in the LA to ask and requests to get the npc to do some jobs for our clan. *heehee*
