Ship Mounted Ballista - Harpoon Launcher

Apparently our Illharess wants a ballista - harpoon launcher on the deck of our ship. Subsequent investigation has revealed that we did not bring any field ballista with us and that there were non to be obtained at the trade post. Therefore if we are to have one we have to make it. I have at the moment two styles of field ballista designs that could be converted to deck mounts and a quickly drawn rendition of a classic ballista that could be used. I also have a rather over kill twin ballista mount in a golem turret that would look really cool on the ship and really isn't all that special technologically speaking.

Other peoples ideas are also welcome to be presented for consideration.

But if we want to go ahead and have these deck ballista mounted for ship's defense we'll need to pick a type and collect the materials to build them.

So here's my drawings, others can add theirs, and the tech mavins can decide what we want do.

Tim, you just blew my mind. Well done. Next time we land home, we're going to do some serious upgrade.

First one´s way too huge/advanced, its like a nuclear bomb in spear form. XD

Like the rest, we can make them easily ourselves.

Still gonna try asking Anji what she thinks of the idea to have a cannon design project/get the dvergar into the ship project with cannon idea.

It all depends on what Kern and Suntiger are willing to let us get away with.

Personally I'm more for the simplified design. Fewer moving parts means less to go wrong and more importantly easier to build.
We shall settle this in the ancient way. WITH A CHILDREN'S CARD GAME!

Timmi rules ! Whoah ! And I suppose this is panzered Ballistae Mk I (in duerger Bpz IA), that after testing and proper engineering will be upgraded to the Ballistae of higher marks with the ultime goal of Bpz VIB Könning-Tügger ! And then we will unleash a total sturm-krüg to all our enemies (and also to our friends, you know, just in case) !

Full support !

When we will start the testing ?

(Ha ! And the next project will be Fau-Ayn, a project lead by Vitus Werner fon Brown)

PANZER VOR!

Yes I have, but I'm also an avid WWII gamer and I do love my WWII history so this shouldn't come as a surprise.
(As an aside though, if there was a subjact based entirely around crewing tanks as a martial art and gives me triple credit in all other subjects, I would leap on that in an instant)

Tim, you're awesome you know that? I you don't mind, once we're airborne, I would like to help implement this. We seriously need to arm the ship with some combat capabilities

Hey tim, the only thing I could think that could use something extra is the grapple bolt.
In its current design it'd just open up on impact, perhaps adding a ballistic penetrating cap would allow it to go through light materials, whether this would work properly I imagine is up to the GM's. I'd also imagine partial penetrations would still defeat the grappling hook, but still in its current form the grappler would only work on contact and if there were anything to latch onto once tension on the line was applied.
Just a suggestion
