Path to Giftmas

Postby choby40k on Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:42 pm

Hello everyone,

i would like everyone's help to make this year Wednesday December 26 an event devoted to a made up Christmas like holiday. not having a real name for it ive been calling it giftmas.

how do PtP players save giftmas spirit? simple when the polls open up on friday dec. 21 only submit different ways to celebrate the holidays.

i can list suggestions here for giftmas events and even people who are faceless in the comic could have the chance to be heard

(remember "you may send a PM to Thalar. She is the one enabling the ability to make a post for you. Please include your character name (whether it is Faceless<number> or you've created a character already) in your PM to her, so she'll know who you are.")

Ideas for Giftmas include -
a band playing giftmas carols
people opening there secret gifter gifts
Bobbing for Berries
Bind the Boar (this one i'm looking forward too. Rodeo style!)
Snow drow! Could also include an ice sculpture contest.
SNOWBALL FIGHT
make glog

Make Glog

Twas the night before Giftmas, and all through the flat
Not a creature was stirring, not even a drain rat.
The armor was hung by the fireplace with care,
In hopes it’d be dry when the morning was there.

The children were snuggled up warm in their beds,
While versions of tiray moves ran through their heads.
And mom in her tunic, and I in my wrap,
Had just cuddled up for a good winter’s nap.

When out in the yard there arose such a clatter,
I thought the militia were engaged in some battle.
So off to a window we dashed like a flash,
Unbolted the shutters and unbarred the sash.

The moon on the branches all covered with snow
Made them sparkle and gleam like a mana spell’s glow
When, what to our bugging out eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny trideer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
We knew in a moment it must be St Tik.
More rapid than horrers his cervidae came,
And he clicked, and he teeked, and we think called out their names!

“Teek Teek! Teek Teek! Teek Teek tik tic Teek!
Tek Teek! Tek Teek! Tek Teek tik tic Teek!
Tic tek teek teek teek teek teek! Tek tic teek teek teek teek tek!
Teek tek tek! Teek tek tek! Teek tek tek tiek!”

(*"Now D’sher! now, D’ncer! now, Pr’ncer and V’xen!
On, C’met! On, C’pid! On, D’ner and B’tzen!
Up over the bushes! Up onto the roof!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!")

As wild ferals that before a pursuer fly,
When they meet with an obstacle leap for the sky.
So up to the roof-top the cervidae flew,
With the sleigh full of stuff, and St Tiktikki too.

And then, in a twinkling, we heard on the roof
The clumping and scrambling of each little hoof.
As we drew in our heads and were turning around,
Down the chimney St Tiktikki fell with a thud.

He was covered in scales, from his tail to his snout,
And his hat was held on by a string round his throat.
A bundle of objects had followed him down,
And now they lay scattered all over the ground.

His eyes were unfocused! His attitude vapid!
His nostrils both twitched, while his breathing was rapid!
His large pinkish tongue lolled out in a show,
And the fake beard he wore was as white as the snow.

His stump of a tail waved about to his rear,
And scattered the packages lying back there.
He rolled his round head, with his paws on his belly,
But stopped when he spotted, an old jar of jelly!

He got himself up, and waddled up to the bar,
And we laughed as we saw him with his tongue in the jar!
A flick of his eye and a twist of his head,
And quickly we knew we had nothing to dread.

He made not a sound, but went straight to his work,
Placing presents ‘neath mana plants, then with a snerk,
Laid his claws ‘gainst the fireplace mortar and stone,
And giving a snort, up the chimney he crawled!

He sprawled in his sleigh, to his team gave some signal,
And they slide off the roof like a tray full of dishes.
But we thought he exclaimed, ‘ere they faded from view,
“Teek teek teek tek teek teek, tak tic teek teek trew!”

(alternate ending).

But we thought we heard yelled, by some neighbor nearby,
“Timotheus, get yer lizard! He’s been in the squeezeberries again!”
