Forget both, the Mk2's are best, we'll keep them and forget making new medium armor entirely.

Medium Armor Questions and Submissions

Postby Hetros on Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:01 pm

While the Mk2 armor is a good stand in for the moment in terms of medium armor, we could do with something that's more appropriate for our healers, explorers, and such. We'll be using the Mk2's for the moment, but submissions of more general medium armor would work perhaps?

So the question is this.

Do we keep the current mana spec armor as our medium armor design?

Or do we make something entirely different?

Mana Spec armor up for the making soon:

Thalar mentions the following about this armor:
Thalar wrote:If you compare that with the suggested inspirations, or even just the MK2, you'll see that you're actually downgrading the amount of protection. It's built as a standalone mana specialist medium-light armor, but that's not what's on the table now.

I will not take it down from the options because it WAS voted for before now. And as such it is still valid, and would be unfair to the voters and to Jaibyrd to take it out of the running without her permission.

On top of this, I need to know -now- do we adjust our forging plans? Do I skip the creation of the new medium armor entirely to focus on the making of the anti armor weapons and then Anji's and Badai's special swords? Or do I keep going as we have been after the new sabers are finished, make the new design of armor, and then proceed to the anti-armor weapons, THEN do Anji's and Badai's swords if there is time?

Poll closes in 2 weeks, as does submissions

Submissions follow the usual rules. It has to be made FOR this, it can't be ripped off from another source, and it has to be submitted by a current clan member, things made by former clan members not for this occasion will not be accepted, things resubmitted by current clan members will be.

Thanks for your input Thalar. I'll alter the beginning post to mention this. But I won't remove it from the running. It was fairly voted for, and it would be unfair to simply get rid of it (also it would reset the votes x_X)

Do you mean one type of medium armor for all classes or medium armor in different look for each class that´s allow to carry them? Cause then i rather lead forward to the latter. I like the armor for the healers, so maybe we can reuse the MK2 to armor the other classes?

Look, if we're going to be making separate armors for each and every one of the classes listed, then I have to protest and simply REMOVE them from the forging schedual because we don't have any bloody time for it D=<

We have 3 types of armor now, light, medium, heavy. They apply to all the classes now, there are no separation of armors for classes beyond this. I suppose there could be colors and modifications like what type of shoulder padding they have for distinguishing the various classes from one another, but this is the medium armor contest, one size fits all.

I should mention that if within the two weeks we don't have submissions then I'll head hunt someone to draw up medium armor specifically for this situation and then use it as the base, provided Jaibyrd has permitted me to forgo using HER armor.

Thalar, would the MS armor work as light armor if we removed the foci? Cause then we could still use the armor for our light combatants while using the MK 2s or a new design for the mediums.

No, it's too heavy again for that. See the "suggested inspirations" and read the description of the light armor in the armor information thread.

I thought it might be, pitty about that. It would have been a rather neat solution.

If we have the option to give our MS better armor then what Jaibyrd presented, I say we do it (I love the design but it is technically light armor and I'd rather give everyone as much protection as possible armor wise)

Also, another question, the healer armor we already have, that's still good right? Or should we make new sets and designs?

I'm amazed that this keeps cropping up. Was I unclear? There will only be ONE MEDIUM ARMOR DESIGN AND ONE LIGHT ARMOR DESIGN IN ADDITION TO THE HEAVY ARMOR DESIGN. Is that clear enough? *hmmm*

If what I drew is under-par, then let us not use it. It's not gonna offend me in the least. ;)

I will work on a new design based on this new information and submit it this weekend, time permitting (I'm kinda working on a little project for Kern...). ^^;

So, in short, dump my armor ideas, and let's open up the playing field again! XD Let the best armor design kick butt!

Luanar could you do a variation on Silice Val Sharen armor?
