Family Enclaves, an Architect Time Skip Project

Postby Hetros on Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:28 am

Okay, with the time skip coming up, the Architects have no true project for it as of yet. I'm suggesting something that will kill two birds with one stone.

Family Enclaves, little mansions for the nobility, each with living areas and such, but in addition, a public function that will benefit the clan as a whole.

I'm compiling a list of things we need to have added to the clan that each Family Enclave could have built into them:

Signal Tower
Temple
Ti'ray Dojo/Arena
Theater
Golem Hangar

I was thinking they sounded more like the collective cast of Girl Genius myself.

Of those, only the Tir'ay dojo seems feasible, as there is support for various family dojos in the background of PtP. What is the reasoning behind making all the others family specific?

I didn't get the 'family specific' thing either... I am currently working on a stand-alone Tir'ay "Accadamy" (A single location Dojo/arena for ALL forms of Tir'ay)... I don't think it would be possible to incorporate the plans into a private residence...

I think noble families should just be families who paid for the option to insert EA actions. We don´t need specific buildings for each family, those should belong to the whole clan if build like the dojo or mana tower, etc.

Gee, I though he meant these were things we wanted built other than the Family things. However re-reading the wording, yeah the Mana Bunker should have no affiliation with any Family as its meant for the Mana Specialists to work and study in, not any one Family.

I will work on an outside view of my floor plan... *adds to list of things to do this weekend*

The reasoning is that we can include them ALL in a single action for the time skip unless you're going to let the architects submit to you a list of buildings they want to build over the time skip? >_>

If that's the case then Noble Family housing goes out the window obviously =3

That seems like a flawed reasoning. You're suggesting that it's better to make a number of identical houses that contain all of these facilities, however small they have to be to fit into each house, instead of creating each as a building in their own right. *hmmm*

It was my understanding that each family enclave would have only 1 of these things rather then all of them.

Why don't we just do things the easy way and build each place a seperate building? Work with the tried and true building methods instead of trying to get too creative and possibly making a headace for Thalar or Reza. We can always have family houses in RP, even if not in the macro game. It would be easy to build all the desired buildings over the time skip even if they have different designs (PM Thalar all the designs and have either an EA that says Build (list abbreviations of the building types/titles here) or one that says Build all archetict projects).

I love the idea of family buildings like this, but I think it's not entirely fair to make them house important buildings. It kind of excluded players who don't want to join families. :)
