@ Programmers: Game Mechanics Suggestions

Postby laserkid on Tue Nov 22, 2011 2:33 am

This is a thread discussing game mechanics and the maths involved for those of us who are technically minded but not in charge of programming.

Combat:
GM assigns damage to a sector in either building or personnel class or both.

    Building Damage:
Damage Assigned Building - (Warriors Guarding ability x support percentage) - Soaked 100% by fortification until fortification HP reaches 50% representing a breach in a wall)

    Personnel Damage:
(Damage Assigned Personnel - (Warriors Defend Civilian ability x support percentage) / number of characters in sector) - Defend Self l

Commoners:
Gm assigned as resource to sectors with housing

Taxation:
Tax ratio x Y number of commoners x skill of tax collector = ada gained, + Y taxed commoners

Tax ratio x Y number of taxed commoners x skill of tax collector = ada gained, + Y over taxed commoners

Tax ratio x Y number of over taxed commoners x skill of tax collector = HP Damage personnel, HP damage building, + Y rioting commoners

Farming:
Fields and Gardens are able to produce some seeds very slowly over time. It would be a slow process, maybe as slow as 10 seeds per action. But it wouldn't deplete the field or garden entirely. This would let us actually expand our fields or at least our gardens such as mana plants (which we really really do need multiple fields of).

Dycle, I am not sure about the taxation due our form of economy, that is not money-involved *bigsmile* . I think it might be used in a far future when we will be strong enough to protect our neighbours or allow them to travel our roads ;)

Or statements in the making of things.

For example. For making steel, you could use raw iron or iron bars.
For making a building, you could use stone or wood planks
Etc.etc.etc.

They follow that somewhat...we need to be a bit abstract though to not kill it in the details.
