Dumb but Simple Question

Postby Bamawing on Wed Oct 26, 2011 11:50 pm

I'm a little confused as to the difference between actions in the events archive and actions in the game. I get that we can do some things in one and not the other, but could you please tell me what those actions are?

I'm also a little confused as to whether or not I can use the slaves in the EA. Before 2.0, three votes meant the slaves' labor was added. Now it "dilutes the result." I'm not complaining - I accept this, I promise - but I'm not sure what it means. Can I use the slaves at all in the EA? Or do I just need more votes to do it?

All actions using slaves have been covered in the map screen interface. Ergo it is pointless to do anything related to them in the EA. Thalar has said her piece and we must abide to that rule.

Min, read her post. The slave thing was more of an example of her confusion than a complaint. The real issue is her confusion over what can actually be DONE in the EA.

To Bama: Honestly I don't really know what the point of the EA is either, beyond trying to do things which go beyond the scope of what the map's system allows.

Gathering, building, and I think mining can all be conducted on the Map. In addition, slaves can be used to smooth this process, and not just overseers can use them. For example, Mana Specialists can use slaves. In fact, I don't even know what the purpose of an Overseer is for map purposes *shrug* An extra hand?

The Map system currently has very limited actions. For example, any large project like a hospital or school building or what have you cannot be conducted on the map, so I suppose that would be what the EA is for. But the more the system fleshes out, the less of a purpose I see for the EA altogether.

So I suppose the EA is intended for bigger projects? Family projects? To react on a clan level to special events? It's all still a little confusing to me as well, and I have explored the maps system a bit.

Overseers seem to be the only ones capable of training slaves, so that's probably the main purpose. Slave also seem to work more efficiently under an overseer.

The EA mainly seems to function for projects that fall outside of what's usual for map actions, though once we get the full wiki guide up it'll be clearer.

Thanks for the clarification, Min. Did Thalar post anything other than what was in the EA?

Like Cat said, I really wasn't trying to complain... I'm just easily confused. *blush*
