Rough Guide For Overseer Actions

To contribute to actions, select the square you want to move to. Once there, hit "Contribute / Slave Workforce" to add slave from your backpack to an action. This increases the speed at which an action is finished. At the moment 5 slaves are shown to increase an action's speed by 5%. One trained slave seems to increase the speed by 5%.

Bug Alert: If you cancel an action after contributing slaves to an action, the slaves you brought disappear.

It does not appear that having items for the slaves (shackles, hoods, uniforms etc.) in your backpack has any effect on the game at the moment. This may be subject to change later.

I feel kind of bad for starting this before Khanz'alika, but she hasn't made an account in the new system yet.

Given the new system, this thread will probably mainly be used to coordinate who has how many slaves and where.

So, as far as I can tell one overseer can oversee one group of slaves at a time, and we currently have 4 trained slaves and 47 untrained slaves. I know the trained slaves increase how fast an action gets done, but I'm not sure of the untrained ones since I haven't tested it yet. And though we have four trained slaves I currently only see 2 in the inventory, and haven't figured out where the others went (it's possibly a bug, stayed tuned on that). They were at F20.

Laserkid has said that he intends to get some work started at E20, so if there are no objections I'll take some of the slave workforce there to assist. Amount to be determined, though I'm thinking 5.

I was thinking of inputting an action for training some of the slaves for skilled labor once the event archive clears.

(Also, we should have 69 untrained, some are just in people's backpacks. I have 10, and was taking them to F20 because why-the-hell-not.)
If the above post makes no sense, just assume I've been drinking. It's a pretty safe bet.

Good idea! Hopefully there is a mechanic to train more of them.

And thanks for clarifying that you have some and the real number, I think another bug is that I can't see non-standard items in other people's backpacks, so until then this topic really will help tracking who has what and where.

At least I now have a "train slave" option in my action menu, so it might be a good idea to take a group of them for a few turns and do that. Looks like the maximum we can do at a time is 5 untrained slaves each. We should also do it in a free square not being used for any other action, such as E20 (which may have plans) or F20 (which, as far as I know, does not). Anyone wanna join me, since my guess would be that more than one overseer at once will increase the speed?

Right now I have 5, and there are 74 in total. The other overseers have the others. I've been using 5 at a time for the moment, but we can figure out later how much we should split them by. Since we have 5 overseers right now an even split would around be 15 per overseer.

As far as I can tell, one overseer can only train 5 slaves at a time, hence why I want to try and get two or three overseers doing it at once.

It is imperative you overseers send someone in sector E17 to speed the rock mining process to get the architects the resources to complete construction in their various efforts and to concentrate on food producing sectors. We will have a massive famine in 2 weeks at the rate that we are consuming the food each active turn in the map screen.
A survivalist should not be a pessimist, he should always be positive, happy and enjoying life more than anyone else because he understands that each minute of peace we have is precious and unique, and he never takes it for granted.

Okay, can do. I'll take as many slaves as I can there once my current turn is up, and as I ask that any other overseers who can spare any slaves do the same. I'd much rather spend time that when we can train when things aren't as dire.

ETA: On my way there, though it's supposed to take me a while. Eugh, hopefully I can speed it up somehow. Anyone care to join me?

Guess who's back in the saddle again? XD

I'm glad to see that people have kept things alive since I've been gone. 8P Since things have really changed I think it's time I tried helping again. I don't have much free time to spare, but I'll try to recreate my character and lend a hand when possible. I'll also see if Miburo can still be reached.

Hope ya'll can be patient with me. 8P

Lor! *glomps* We are glad to see you, and we understand that people have lives, so do what you can.

And for now I'm at E19 helping with the road, since we ended up with enough at E17 before I could get there. I do hope to train some of the slaves in a few turns.

Thanks for the welcome, Tor. 8P I kind of wish I hadn't been gone for so long, though, because from what little I've seen since coming back alot of stuff has changed. ^^;

Still, I guess it's time I did my part. I'll clearly need alot of catching up to do with the comic (months, probably), but in the meantime I can at least act as an assistant. It's a serious step down from my previous role, but as long as it helps get the job done that's okay. XD

Glad to have you, Nova.

Minalia suggested in the shoutbox that we appropriate F17 for training slaves after we've depleted the coal from there in 2 or so turns, or about a week.

I'd also ask that any overseers, or really anyone else who has slaves at the moment, please list how many you have here so we can keep track of where they are until the inventory gets un-bugged.

I recently just joined too, and don't have any idea what to do... ^^;

Any advice on what to do and where I'm needed, or should I just sit back and watch for now? :w
