Is the Make Barley Beer action up yet?
Cause if we do get a Apple blossom festival only vine would be boring, some dark barley beer is needed as well. XD

This is my concept of a Water Mill intended only for the Farmers. It can handle many agricultural tasks and I've added a provision for an additional water wheel that can be installed to only lift water to fill a large tank that would be used to operate a gravity fed irrigation system. A similar building (on the outside) would also serve the Crafters (without the second water wheel).

I don't know if under the current rules of operation it's really worth it, but here is my presentation. Specific internal machinery can be drafted up if required.

Al right an Important development happened some what. Thalar gave me the go ahead to hunt down and root out holes in our chain of supply and attempt to pass a promotion for multiple actions that have to do with missing items and resources in a production arc. The restriction being, don't go overboard.

This is a sample on what I'm talking about. I'd like to delegate this one out to the famers to add bees/honey/hony jerky to the chain. Click the tiny link for more info.

I am helping to dry meat right now, anyone know when we will be able to start planting?

Is it just me, or am I one of the few people who wants to be a farmer because I want to be one, not because it is needed?

Okay, the Ri-ris aren´t the children of the flying horror. Looks like they live wild near the feral village too, but for them its weird to domesticate animals aka building houses for them so that means they steal eggs/feathers from them and hunt them as wild animals.

So the Ri-ris are an agressive falcon/hen crossover, right now we´re still at the while falcon part, but i think we can get closer to the hen one if we can control them via food like we did with the pigs. :)

I have. The most effective action is pick squeeze berries 3 turns for 300 food. Next is pick apples 3 turns 60 food. Then Gruel and Bread come next each giving 50 food but requiring different amounts of flour. Source http://pathtopower.wikia.com/wiki/Farmers

Hmm, Gruel and Bread ... let me think on that.

Plant 1 Barley field (because in the long run you will have to) ... 6 turns / -6 food
Harvest 1 Barley field (gives 500 grain) ... 5 turns / -5 food
Mill 100 Barley flour (to mill the whole grain from one field) ... 100 x 5 turns / -500 food
Make 125 Gruel (because that gets us more food than bread? use the whole flour again) ...125 x 2 turns / -250 food

vs.

6250 Gruel Produced in about 96 turns (with 8 farmers doing nothing else, not taking into account that action time doubeling bug and at skill level 1 to keep the math simple)


Actually that looks pretty good. With 5489 food surpluss. It will get even better once you gain some levels, especially for making that flour and then processing it into gruel. Gruel! Yum yum!
Still making that much gruel takes ... pretty much forever? Even with all the farmers slaving away at it like mad (to process the complete output of a field with lvl1 skills about 96 turns ... during which just the clan members with jobs might need 143 x 96 = 12960 food (if they work all the time, farmers not counted)
)? Actually maybe it doesn't sound so good after all? We need more farmers? With better skills? *gets a headache thinking about it* ^^;

o_O I'm not quite sure what you are saying here but I think the important thing to consider when choosing farmer actions is food per turn (FPT) of various options. (all math assumes 1 farmer with 100% efficiency)
Warning Math ahead:
basic equation is food/number of turns. If an action requires multiple steps those must be taken into account as well.

Pick Squeezeberries: 300 food/3 turns = 100 FPT

Pick Apple: 60 food/ 3 turns = 20 FPT

Make gruel: 6250 food (amount created by processing the output of one grain field into gruel)/ 761 turns (amount of time it took to fully process that field) = 8.2 FPT

Make bread: 4165 food/ 761 turns = 5.47 FPT

Conclusion: even assuming the need to eventually replace the bushes squeeze berries are the most optimal choice.

FPT ... yeah thats the better way to put it. ^^; Thats just about what I wanted to say. The FPT for Gruel and/or bread is too low as is. The production process would have to be speed up either through more farmers, better skills, or better/more tools for more speed bonus. Of course we can keep with the apples and squeezeberries. But we would need some way to replenish those resources. Something besides explorers wandering about and psooibly finding a few bushes/trees?
