Esablishing our home

Postby Q on Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:09 pm

Since the Ilharess asked for it and no one takes care of it like she asks, let`s poll for it. Since that`s what we need to know right now.
Let`s be efficient here a little bit....

you have a week.

I could hug you right now.
In fact.... **hugs**

Thank you, Q, this is pretty much EXACTLY what we need, and what the Ilharess asked for. :3

okay... no more hugs for Q... it causes him to turn into a slightly larger version of Gollum.
But thanks dude... the conversation in the other thread is strange as heck... Shana keeps saying village or outpost when I think she means alternate food source, still not certain though.

Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious what everyone wants anyway... 100% so far... even if it is only seven people (how many active memeber do we have after all?!?!)

Judging from the topology of the map, the river appears to flow from east to west (toward Chel'el'Sussoloth), not west to east as you imply in the poll. The east of the cavern is a series of steppes, so the river has either eroded through them creating a gorge upriver of the camp or goes over them in a series of waterfalls. :)

Well, it could be that there used to be an underground lake that would flood and fall, thus carving out the cliffs. >.> *whisties*

And so far everyone wants the ruins.

I may be wrong, but I think the only proposal for an alternative to the ruins was Dice's village by the river. We still haven't heard anything from Dice's early supporters for this idea, Anyone?

Well, that's because everyone thought it was supposed to be the post about what the Illharess asked you, and so they answered her question. *shrugs* They didn't understand your questions. (I'm still not sure I understand yours in light of what you were asked to do by the Ilharess, so I've completely backed out of the discussion.)

I'm sorry that you feel abandond. :(

*pats shana on the back*
don't feel that way, it's just this is the best option.

Besides the slaves, which will be easy to take care of, why would the ruins be a bad choice shana?

Wouldn't it be logical to build the clan's home, the Ill'haresss home, in the ruins of the old one and then build up a fishing village by the river to help supply the fortress with food?

As I understood things, that was what was implied in the page. :)

Yes. Everyone's problem is that Dice wanted to do it in the reverse order (or rather, build any other village first, as long as it wasn't the ruins) and everyone felt it was a bad idea.

And if Dice didn't want to do it first, he wasn't very clear....

(This post is for you, too, Dice, to illustrate where the problem came from. :3 I hope it helps. x3 Though I'm confused by your comment on feeling abandoned. ^^; )

That aside, its pretty evident where everyone wants to settle. :3

I'd have responded sooner, but I'm not getting any topic notifications, for some reason... weird.

Whaddya mean no more hugs for Q?? *hugs him anyways* Nyah!

Well, voting aside, we should think of what we'll need to do first, for setting up home base. Thoughts?

I think we're tackling the two most important issues already- a stockpile of food, thanks to Zorlond, and some defense to look impressive and, if need be, subdue the slaves by force.

A diplomat of some sort that can reason with the slaves would be nice as well. If we can avoid conflict, and thus casualties, it would be for the best.

When we get there, we'll want some sort of architect to asses the structure and figure out how to get about going to work and finding materials, but only AFTER the slaves are safely subdued or killed. :3
