from the topic of the week, to new ideas, and possibility's. Discuss anything to everything that you have on your mind. Just remember as long as it's related to Path to power it should be OK.

I'd like to be clothier... but that's not what I think we need most right now.

I think what we most need would be a warrior/war master type position. Everyone's worried about defense, and this seems the best way to address it.

I don't think 'War Master' is the right title for what we actually want.

'Captain of the Guard' is much closer. They'd only deal with clan security, both from internal and external threats, but not go outside our territory.

As for something new for a rank... How about 'Wrangler'? Would be responsible for the aquisition, care, and distribution of clan-owned animals, be they mounts, pack labor, or livestock.

Isn't that the beast master title?

And... well, at the moment, we don't have any livestock to wrangle. :P

Well we don't have much in the way of clothes or fabric now, do we? :P

Just tossing things out, and yeah, 'Beast Master' is a better title for that job.

Haha, yeah, that's why I said what I wanted could wait. ;P
(And hey, I'll have you know my position is very needed! Look at all those bare necks! You're dressing rather scandalously yourself.... :P)

I got my neck coverd. Hmmm a beer master would be a fun rank. but ya a Captain of the Guard will be needed soon. safty is somthing that we all need, and when the captain has enugh guards they can go to the ruins and clere out anything nasty.

Ves'xile overhears the conversation and adds her two cents:

Captain of the Guard should be next and be separate from Warmaster and of equal status. The duties of the two positions overlap little and the goals often conflict. Right now, security is next on the list of priorities after food and investigating potential immediate hazards. Once security is organized health and long term shelter can be arranged without constantly having to watch our collective backs.

Definitely Guard Captain (so much more concise than Captain of the Guard)...

just throwing this out there, but I'm all up for armorer... my character is a smith, and I'd love to design how our troops looked ^^, failing that... I just want a rank where I can draw stuff!
And food and scouting are being taken care of, no worries there.

Guard Captain and War master as separate... would that mean that soldiers and guards are two different things as well?

kinda, guards would be more vigilant, more focused on defensive abilities... Soldiers would be more focused on offensive styles of combat I would think. Guards would stay home, and with important figures in the clan.

Think about it, does a soldier in the military, and a guard for a government faculty receive the same kind of training? or use the same skills?

A guard for a government facility is probably expecting burglars, at worst.

We'd be the only clan to split the military like that, and personally, I think it's a bad idea. Training is one thing, combat experience is something completely different. The last thing we want is our last defense to be inexperienced!

It does depend, It could be something similar to have a singular troop pool. It would be that the Guard captain and War master would then have to delegate what percentage of the troops were out in combat while the rest were on patrol back home. <An example would be the Sarghress, those in the highland raiders can switch to patrols if they were needed to.>

Hmm.

Hardened Fortification, interior, and outer units under the same Martial Master would be neat.

Blackout units would handle assassinations and things that COULD NOT be done by strait forward military or the guild as a whole. Bond, James Bond...

Textiles, etc would be under the offices of crafts Guild.

Supply Master

Beast Master

Culinary Master

Historian/Knowledge Master

Slave master

... Thinking still
