This is a list of factions that we have encountered and discussion based around them.

The Nal'sarkoth [Drow] (Allies):
Description: These are a major drow clan that have been funding our colony and are major supporters of us. They are our allies and have treated us with respect for the most part.
Goals: They wish to make a profit from surface trade with us.
Suggestions: None at the moment. Let's keep up the friendly relations ehn?
The Itham Guir [Dvergar] (Neutral/Friendly?):
Description: After an initially rocky start, where we slew their farm beasts, we are beginning to work out a trade alliance. This relationship is still developing, but it looks promising provided we supply them with meat and such to make up for the slaying of their herds. They were driven away from their original underworld home because of an invasion of Drow, the fact we offered to help them rather than simply drive them off has lead to them being surprised enough to think much much better of us.
Goals: Survival for the moment, but they apparently wish to retake their old home.
Suggestions: Get them their food ASAP. After that, let's find out who they fought, and even if we don't help them with direct military support, then at the very least we should provide provisions, supplies, armor, and weapons in return for generous trade agreements once they've retaken their home and they're back on their feet. Seriously, this will be AMAZING publicity for us amongst other Dwarves if we pull this off.
Hanen [Human, Halme] (Friendly):
Description: Human village that sits directly on the route between our settlement and a local Nal'sarkoth outpost. We have used this village to rest and resupply in the past. We also offered them aid after they were attacked, which improved our reputation amongst the villagers.
Goals: Not certain.
Suggestions: Pursue further trade relations and keep them from being annihilated, as these guys are a major stop in what is currently our only supply line to the Nals. However in order to pursue further relations, we need Feral translators.
Unknown [Human, Halme] (Unknown):
Description: They live in a village to the south and west (At R-2). And we don't speak their language AT ALL.
Goals: Unknown
Suggestions: Make contact once we can can actually speak to each other.
Hostile Armored Humans [Human, Hermiones] (Hostile):
Description: Humans lead by a faction to the north armed and armored with steel.
Goals: Conquest and to erase us "Mist Demons" from existence.
Suggestions: Comfirmed. They're Hermiones. And Ariel kicked the bee's nest 7 years ago or something because they're back and they're angry. We need to bulk up defenses ASAP.
Unknown [Kotorc] (Unkown):
Description: They live to the north and west of us, presumably in the village in the marshes. Beyond this we know nothing.
Goals: Unknown
Suggestions: Avoid contact for the time being. Once we can be sure they won't try to raid us for resources, make friendly contact.
Unknown [Racoon Ferals] (Pests):
Description: So far we have little to no information about these guys other than that they've tried to raid our food stores and generally have made a nuisance of themselves from time to time.
Goals: Easy food apparently.
Suggestions: Figure out what the heck is up with these guys. If we can actually use them to communicate with the Humans, awesome, if they're nothing more than thieves and pests, basically just animals, wipe out the adults, train up the children for labor, guard duty, and pets.
Unknown [Feline Ferals] (Friendly):
Description: they acted as our guides initially if I remember correctly
Goals: Unknown, probably about the same as the Racoon Furres
Suggestions: We need these guys as allies again, to get trade flowing between us and the Humans, and even the Kotorcs, they also might be able to help us with the Racoon Furres.
