Orthorbbae Traning for An'jhali

Postby Anza'ka Anzo on Sat Jul 03, 2010 4:32 am

I posted an advice in the AL - "Please get some training at Orthorbbae your ranked can take care of things." VOTE for it so that this discussion has meaning later on, thanks. :3

I say this because things have settled down for a bit and there is good reason for her to get some very much needed training. Training in what? I don't know maybe whatever you guys feel would benefit her and the clan. Since we are a warrior clan in a way, so lets consider her getting some mana FIGHTING skills OR Nether Summoning (Demons) Though I very sure that won't happen :D

The purpose of this discussion is to identify the training we want An'jhali to learn at Orthorbbae. Let the debating begin!

I've advocated in the past that An'jhali should learn some diplomacy since her skills in speaking can be sometimes lacking. It's essential for her to learn to speak cooly and confidently, tell lies with a straight face when necessary, be respectful while maintaining pride, and be able to sense when she's being manipulated. Such skills are far more important for a leader than swordplay, unless our aim is just to turn An'jhali into a battlefield general (which we don't need).

As for the belief that we're a Warrior clan, that's been said in the past and seems to be wishful thinking on the part of many Warriors. I don't think that's the way we should mold our clan's mentality. The Siksa'santi are a Warrior clan, and outside of combat look they seem to be very incompetent.

Guys, okay I don't remember EXACTLY where it was stated, however, Ahnji CANNOT GO TO ORTHO(pedic center).

The reason for this is simple.

She is our leader, anything she has to learn will be learned though her people. And as our leader she cannot go to school, to do so would mean that Ahnji our Leader would be away from home for who knows how long. the last time this happened (during that meeting with the great clans) the clan decended into chaos and lolorder.

not to mention the political lulz that will be had by other clans if they know Ahnji is going to school.

So she CANNOT go to school.

have you read the past pages at all? if you did you'd know that Ahnji has had Extensive training on all of the things you are suggesting, with her teachers being the members of the clan.

Going to ortho is not needed.
EDIT:

Oh, I didn't mention anything about Orthobbae. An'jhali doesn't need no stinkin' Orthobbae. }:3 I was just discussing the ol' "skills debate."

In regards to her speaking skills An'jali is adequate, but is far from great, and at times I think many people give her a little too much credit. She speaks more like a Warrior than the politician that she is supposed to be, although that's not really her fault since some people have over-emphasized teaching her combat related skills in the past.

As an Il'har her words should be as effective as any weapon, and while she might be good at making small talk or public speeches when no one talks back, until she can help solve a crisis using only her words as weapons (apologies don't count ^^; ) I don't think she can ever be considered truly "good" at diplomacy.

It have been stated a few times that An'jhali can't go there. So a advise sending her there (once again...) is not really the most intelligent thing to do. No vote from me this time.. once again.

The question was popped in the past already, if An'jhali wanted to go there to learn.

Basicly the short end of it is that as Ill'haress she shouldn't leave the clan alone.
The best option to get her training in mana arts is sending the MS to ortho, so they can learn and then in turn they learn it to An'jhali.

If the goal is to make sure An'jhali has a "ranged attack" to contribute to a battle without being at the greatest risk, then we can see if the Mana Specialists are able to teach her one. An alternative would be some bow or crossbow training.

I may add to that point: Teaching her can be done by those who have knowledge. We can't afford to send her there and Kern might just outright say "no" to it, no matter how many votes there are.

Well. We have now an ambassator. If you wish, we can try and teach her the tricks of the trade like warriors, scouts, etc have taught ti'ray to her. It should work and doesn't put her at risk.
