I'm pretty sure no one is going to complain about infrastructure improvements...

The idea in chel seems to be that "I draw a circle on the map and declare it as mine. If I can defend it, cool, it's mine"

The problem rose out of us declaring the whole cavern our own and the other clans taking offense at that, believing that we were unable to back up our claims.

Well the thing is..we kinda crushed a clan to prove our point. The whole cavern is ours end of story. If another small clan trys to enter and claim a part of our lands. We are going to meet them peacefuly and try to settle this without shedding blood on both sides.

But with the way most drows in chel act we are going to have 1 hell of a fight on our hands. Until we have destroyed 2-3 more small clans in chel and parode with the corpses of their dead Ilhars on the streets of chel they will think we are just a insignifican insect.

Well it proves 1 thing about the nature of our clan, we are a very warlike and prone to extreme measures when pushed into a corner by a external force. As long as no one stirs trouble in our home we are very peaceful bears in semi hibernation minding our own business and eating our honey in peace. May the goddess have mercy to those who cross us. *bigsmile* Specialy those clueless chelians settlers who might try and break our rules.

the text reads, in summary:

Ideally, we should place a spot closest tot he water room.

i suggest between the crafter's area, and the water supply room, though i'd like to see some kind of garden thing in the area i arrowed.

we should pick a spot though, since it seems to not be ... well, unanimous.

*wee* we all want to build it but we don't know where! (i think? i dunno, i'm posting this instead of sleeping. did we come to a decision?)

What about all that empty space between the wall and the tomb? Nothing is there except stone. We could turn it into a quarry and then into a culture pool area.

And it's right next too the water source :D

Buildings that have running water:
Water supply room
War/Conference room
The fountain (which I think is hidden behind the war/conference room)
Anjhali's den ( the bath w/ hot water is near by, if not in the same building)
Northern Tower (next to Eat at Katralya's)

The Slave Interrogation Room has a culture pool on its roof, but no running water.

So we could start at the north tower and work our way towards the main gate with the culture pools.

Guys, okay, you have been talking alot about building these pools but no one has posted their ideas in Due'gar's thread where it belongs. He's the one who would decide where they should go and i'm not sure anyone's even mentioned the idea of in Ther Aquaculture to him yet.

actually, Ein, he is aware. We spoke about it on skype, that's how i got the notion we should build it close to the water supply room.

while you're right that this could be spoken about in due'gar's thread, i've seen it in katralya's too.

i'd like for us to just decide on picking a darn spot to build, i don't necessarily care how it goes about being decided or where.

I just lost my entire post. rats!

Well rather than repeat it here, the gist was the channel/canal plan can be modified as a straight shot from the upper to the lower plateau, running past the water works and incorporating shelves for waterplants and light plants. A new water feed line retains the garden area, and we can even make a moat channel across the front gate if we want to. Details if anyone cares and I can bring myself to retype them.

(Tohya's list was very enlightening, thanks)

(Get me together with Due'gar and a map of Ther'avare and I bet we could hash this out in no time with no roofs damaged in the process.)
If I knew what I was doing I'd be dangerous.

Hello? It's echoing in here.

So now that the Dva'raka are out of the way, how about we continue with resettling Chelians? ^^;

Oh boy, almost a month since it all was mentioned.

Facts:
We will probably recieve poorer folk, refugees and such
We can't keep people away from the river, thus can't prevent them from fishing it empty
Cavern is not ours, we don't own it but we do look after it

Ideas people came up with:
  • [s]Road to hell[/s] High quality road from Chel to cavern exit and to places that are important to us (mine, Ther'avare, river?) link
  • Keeping Chelians quarters out of Ther link
  • Build gates on the road and cavern exit link
  • Don't build gates on road and cavern exit link
  • Keep the cavern exit tax free link
  • Taking taxes for using the cavern exit link
  • Living and trading quarters near Ther'avare to stay in control of city planning
  • Shophouses (houses that have living quarters on second floor and shop on the first floor) - Xenon in shoutbox long time ago ^^
  • Don't tax merchants earnings link
  • Tax merchant earnings
  • Tax people for protection (obvious)
  • Choose the people that wish to live in our lands link
  • Keep protection tax low for some time to encourage people to settle here link
  • Give people work link and link
  • Don't give people work (aka are you insane?) link
  • Open a school for Chelians link
  • Only authorized building allowed link
  • Kill the ebil wildlife! link
  • About culture pools and other important stuff

Plan map: viewtopic.php?p=595623#p595623
Shows two possibilities for road and few other things
Road plan 2: viewtopic.php?p=595636#p595636
Road plan 3: viewtopic.php?p=595811#p595811
*edit*Ooh and this one from DD: viewtopic.php?p=604165#p604165 */edit*

Quite good post Kitab made: viewtopic.php?p=594740#p594740
And quite good post BlackFulcrum made: viewtopic.php?p=594749#p594749

Now i think all the trouble I went through is worthless but i did it just in case. Not everything is here, you need to read through it all to get all but trust me, you'll probably get a headache from it, just like i did. :P

Would be nice if we finally DECIDED what we WANT DONE right NOW. And then finally get things moving, no point in discussing ourselves to death. No offence. ^^;
Forum voting system is soooo bad in voting each thing separately.

I heard ranked have been discussing this lately, so probably their private thread is worth checking out.
