The Teikaliath Dvaraka Clan War.

Postby Anza'ka Anzo on Mon Feb 01, 2010 2:20 am

Our first clan war. List of events

The war started when the Teikaliath clan confronted the Dvaraka clan warriors that took possession of the Teikaliath clan's cavern exit and charged traders outrageous sums to use the exit tunnel. The Dvaraka claimed ownership of the cavern the Teikaliath reside in. Dvaraka were not interested in a peaceful path with the Teikaliath and the war began.

[*] Teikaliath Carven Exit is destroyed in the exit skirmish with the Dvaraka.
[*] Traders are now fearful of our territories.
[*] The Teikaliath Clan officially declares war on the Dvaraka Clan.
[*] The Dvaraka Clan raids the Teikaliath watch tower. No causalities on either side.
[*] A secret alliance is made with the Svart'elos Clan and five Svart mana warriors will join us in battle for a 50/50 share in loot when we attack they share information on the Dvaraka Clan fortress.

Battle For Ther'avare
First Battle of the War - Battle type: Surprise Attack! Attackers: Dvaraka. Defenders: Teikaliath.

Battle result: Close Victory
The Victorious - Teikaliath
The Defeated - Dvaraka
Summery Of Battle - The Dvaraka infiltrated deeply into Teikaliath territory taking advantage of the undermanned scouts and warriors of the Teikaliath. They first struck the watch tower outside of the clan city fortress and pinned down squad one. They then rushed to Ther'avare and attempted to kill the Teikaliath Ill'haress, she defended herself well and all Teikaliath in the city grabbed every blade, bow and crossbow available and fought the invading Dvaraka warriors. During the battle the Teikaliath Ill'haress was stabbed in the left arm. Two high ranked members of the Teikaliath are wounded Ar'lein and Katralya. Eventually the Dvaraka warriors were overrun by Teikaliath numbers and an outraged blood thirsty Teikaliath population. The Dvaraka start their retreat as the Dvaraka retreated they used their sorcerers to collapsed the watch tower and other buildings in Ther'avare.

Causalities
Teikaliath: 78 killed, 34 wounded, 0 captured
Dvaraka: 11 Killed, 4 mortally wounded, 2 captured

Battle Loot - 10 Dvaraka armors, 1 gemstone covered wand, 10 sets of clothes, 25 half Ada, 5 Ada and 1 pouch of mixed jewelery from Dvaraka dead and captured.

[*] All of Chel hears of the battle.
[*] The point of no return. No peace is possible between the two clans.
[*] Teikaliath Overseers at extremely dangerous low levels.
[*] Teikaliath Warriors in need for new recruits.
[*] In Ther'avare the mourning Teikaliath gather the dead and begin the process of rebuilding.
[*] The warriors pursue the retreating Dvaraka. Two Dvaraka and Two Teikaliath are wounded. Many clans see the battle and skirmishes between the two clans. One clan asked if the Teikaliath needed help, hinting that the Dvaraka Clan is not a friend of theirs?
[*] A Vel'Sharen has arrived at the watch tower ruins seeking an audience with the Teikaliath Ill'haress.
[*] The Vel'Sharen Anu'Ragi of Zala'ess Linage explains that there are other clans who have a claim to Teikaliath holdings. She offers a solution to this problem which is by having chelians resettle the lands under Teikaliath control. This will give legitimacy to Teikaliath claims and holdings. She also explained that her clan will 'undoubtedly' help in this project. The Vel asks Teikaliath Ill'haress An'jhali to consider her offer.
[*] The Teikaliath finish fixing Ther'avare and then prepare to launch a full assault on the Dvaraka home and fortress.

-------------------------

I feel that we need to take an offensive stand even though we are undermanned and many are wounded. We need to organize raiding parties to attack Dvaraka outposts and Dvaraka cavern exits. We bleed the enemy for a few days and then march on their fortress with our allies and any hired mercenaries and destroy them.

We should also engage in some Warrior and Overseer recruitment drives. Lack of warriors during war is bad and slave rebellion is very bad.

Ideas, comments and suggestions for tactics and methods toward the goal of winning the war.

I'll be the first to say that we are not in desperate need of warrior recruits. Our forces got spread to thin, making us vulnerable to attack. That's logistics, nothing to do with our total numbers.

That or downsizing our number of slaves.

I prefer quality over quantity. We won't need 2 squad escorts if 1 squad has the strength to do it. But Madea refuses to close the recruitment, so it's a moot point in that regard. Other than that, I believe that saying we desperately need them is off a bit.

Dude, we're in a war here... getting more warriors is a good thing! I mean come on! I know our forces were thinned out but you need to consider that maybe half or more of our warriors have been wounded and unable to fight until healed.

Once again, I shall repeat myself.

We don't desperately need warriors.

Madea will never close recruitment anyway, and we always have a flow.

We have all we NEED. I never said that more was a bad thing, though one should hesitate to increase our size, seeing as the enormous inflation of warriors was what made them nearly impossible to equip and train.

Alright drop it you two. You've both said your piece, and now you're just getting agitated. You can disagree all day, but policy won't change if only the two of you participate.

o_O

I'm not agitated in the least Nasfors. I was just clarifying my point.

Besides, we're being civil. The forum is for discussion after all.

Well, I have a few ideas of ways we could maybe up the odds, one of which, the armouring of the pack lizard, has already been realized. But the other one's, like shields and scouting ahead, we just don't have any time for at this point cuz it looks like Shiir's marching to war next turn. He wants to send the scouts ahead of the warriors as a vanguard to take out anyone who might warn the Dvara'ka of out coming, then just hit the Dvara'ka's main gate, the location of which was revealed to us by the Svartelos, hard and fast. I think the general idea is to just adapt to the situation once we get there.

Force will be made up of all the warriors, scouts, half the healers, Svartelos mercenaries and An'jhali. A militia of various production ranks will be left to guard Ther.

Nothing for either of you to apologize for, a simple, civil discussion from what I see. Miscommunication between Nas, and you two. I don't particularly agree with marching so quickly, but it's not my choice - I can see the need for striking them during a supposed time of weakness, but intelligence and wisdom decides it should be done with a sense of caution.

However I simply can not agree with recruiting more warriors, especially from an already limited body of `working` clan members. If we focus everything on our military we'll lose industry and production, and then everything will simply fall to pieces.

I read somewhere that the +EDIT+ This turn will be focused on our city and getting our wounded patched up and getting ready for the next round. An'jhali is wounded as well so from what i can tell she can't handle a weapon at this point or another battle.

Aye, our wounded come first. We take care of our own before we take care of them. The army protects the people, then it destroys what harms them. *slams fist into her palm* Death to the opposition!

Warriors will continue to unsubscribe, as a lot of very casual people join the warriors, pay for a few months then forget about it. Will need constant replenishing especially to get back up to 50 warriors with the real-time subscription monitoring in place now. Until we can get a button that makes everyone pick a profession when they join ptp as part of the sub process (which many people will choose warrior as default) we'll likely be short on warriors. Harvesters and Overseers will probably also have problems as harvesting is seen as kind of dull/boring and managing slaves has it's own unique set of problems being an attractive job. Kind of off topic but relevent to some of the discussion here.

IF we have the feeling that there aren't enough warriors we still can hire mercenaries as additional force in the attack. :)
