Re: Steel delivery

I personally would like to see us deliver the ore, but even that hinges on several factors.

Now should the Sharen choose to, or offer to, escort the delivery I would be for it, but going to them

At this point i would say we have the capability of making the delivery in a single trip.. While it falls under the 'bad plan' category, simply having each forge worker carry 5 bars to the Sharen would work. Keep in mind that we do have one cart, and I still am planning on making one that has the size to carry all in one go. (now who or what pushes the cart, more logistics...)

Now most of this also depends on what information we can gather on the attackers. If it is a larger clan, then definitely we should be asking for them to come get it. But if it's common bandits, I'd say we go for it.

So in closing, Should we need to, or the Sharen offer, This sounds like a great proposal Nasfors.

Thank you for the reply Lady Smith.

Again, we're already on the same page. If we can make this is one trip, thus avoiding unnecessary vulnerability, it is clearly best to do it ourselves. If we're under attack from Vals or we need more than one, it is incumbent upon the Sharen and upon us to make this a joint effort.

I like the sound of this plan Nasfors, it definately seems to be the best means by which to complete this deal without fear of us being ambushed & robbed, or worse, killed. When the time comes for this plan to be proposed in LA, it will have my support ^^

thanks for the link to this thread ^^;

The downside is of course some people might not want us to do essentially a join patrol/transport/whatever alongside Sharen soldiers. That's inching a little closer to official ally status than we'd like. I personaally would rather they just pick it up and handle the transport entirely solo.

Thank you for the reply, Thaluka.

I think the enemies of the Sharen will believe what they want to believe. I think that they will judge us allies of the Sharen simply because of how often we've visited them already. Making the delivery ourselves or in a joint effort will not change what they already think to be true about our clan.

Hhhmmm....Thaluka does have a point though, if we have the sharen just pick up their order it can be excused as business deal even to those who want to believe otherwise, BUT, if we actually take part in the transport back to Sharen central we'd definately be seen as genuine sharen allies rather than just merchants making a deal (also, those sharen would have to escort us back afterward to protect us from being mugged again, making us look even more like sharen allies).

I still like your plan Nasfors and don't see any alternatives, but if we can avoid making our selves look like "Nidraa-pawns" then that would be for the best in the long run. The Sarghs, if they are the muggers, may have a low opinion of us, but the sullisins don't seem to hold us in contempt just yet (we gotta plan this out as a business deal rather than an alliance)

Was delivery apart of our agreement with the sharen? Everyone seems to assume so, but it's not stated anywhere (I think) so we may not have too. Probably too late to check though.

sometimes thier are things u have to assume like if u order from a reastraunt they will bring the food to u and you don't have to go to the kitchen ..im pretty sure kern exspects common sence on this when people normaly order something they exspected delevered it would make little sence for us to send someone to them just to turn around so they can pick it up? infact if we send one person to tell them we are done then we would have to gicve that person escort then they and the worriors with them would be seen walking with the sharen ...and i think they want it as soon as posible as well so...

*tosses in two ada*

the only people we can truly rely on are ourselves. yes they should take in intrest in protecting their own goods.. but at the same time they would want it delivered to them.

so i say give most of chel a big old two handed, two fingered salute and deliver the steel ourselves. I feel its a step forward in us takeing a chunk of chel for ourselves. after all.. a journy is nothing but a grouping of many steps. this is but one step.

Hmmm, you've got a valid point. We do it ourselves. They want to offer protection that's there business, but we'll do it ourselves to tell whoever is screwing with us to f*** off.
