Tower of Druaga - stairway to the skies

"Right then." John started to move with the group, falling back a bit to bring up the rear. He casually looked around, having played rearguard often enough to know his eyes and ears were important to his role. None of the nearby climbers seemed to be threatening, but you never knew.

Actually able to understand the danger of the climb, at least to a certain degree, Burk opted to take the vanguard. He figured that the one who wore the dress would be even unhappier if he got killed.

((OOC: Burk is a big guy, certainly intimidating to anyone who doesn't know him, thus allowing the group to clear an easy path through the crowd if he is in the front. :OOC close))

((So, taking duke's point, nobody does anything else there now and we can head forward?))

Everyone reaches the bottom of the large stairs, and you take your first steps on them. It feels... Weird, to be walking them right now. Like a small shock of electricity going trough your spine. As the group heads up, pretty soon the stairs enter into a tunnel breaching higher level's floor. It gets rather dark, and you can just barely make out your allie's forms in the dim light. You can't really see other Climbers in front of you nor behind you.

After what feels like an eternity of climbing, you reach a doorway to more light area. As you step out, you see you're stepping out of a larget cave, and the landscape opens before you.
It's rocky wasteland, with no grass and even nearly no sand around. On to your left, you can see high pillars of stone rising up maybe two hundred meters away, and in fron of you stands a low mountain range cutting from side to side as far as you can see. There is small valley in it bit to your right, but it seems to be rather far away. This place really disorients your sense of distance. There is no sky, no clear centrum of light, but still it feels like it would be day here. The sides are bit misty, like there is a heavy fog on the walls of this giant tower, and high up over you you can see beams of rocks and iron cutting the air before everything disappears from your view.

You can't see anyone else. Not even the people who were right in front of you, and nobody else is stepping out of the doorway behind you.

-----

Zakarias graspes heavily for air, looks around the whole place, and falls to his knees nearly fainting out.
"...It's... So large..."

"Thats what she said."

Ray was rolling the the floor clutching his sides before slowly getting up, wiping tears from his face.

"Unless Zakarias wants to do another imitation of John's mother on the weekend i suggest we try to get the lay of the land."

Mouth agape Burk stepped forward, taking in the barren surroundings, the dark emptiness, the utter lack of life. Barely sand, just rock, nothing that could serve as anything to provide survival, just unforgiving wideness.

Falling to his knees, Burk screamed out "I LOVE THIS PLACE!"

Han sighed. Ah, nostalgia. This region resembled the landscape around the temple. "Ah, for want of any skill in drawing," he said to himself. "This would make decent landscape."

John snorted, not stooping to reply to Ray's antics. He turned to Ramirez as he went down.

"This fellow's gonna be a problem if he passes out every twenty minutes."

He dropped his bag to the ground and pulled his spear free, then replaced the bag.

Ray ran to Ramirez with his first aid bag, checking his vial signs and trying to revive him.

"Come on Ramirez, stay with me. Nows not the time for a nap."
Ray checked his vials and, to his surprise, he seemed fan. not even a cold sweat.

"I have no clue why he's out, he should be fine. eventually."

Ray gingerly lifted Ramirez up and placed him over his shoulder, removing his bow in the process.

"Lets keep moving, he should recover on his own. I wouldn't want to get lost in here."

Burk, having been busy mentally writing love poems to the wonderful terrain, or at least something he considered was worthy expressing, or rather impressing his infatuation with the barren wasteland, just now noticed how the one called Ray lifted the unconscious form of nice-man-called-Rami over his shoulder.

Worried, he made his way over, asking whether he could help.

((OOC: Burk IS a big guy. Might as well use him. OOC Close))

Zakarias just stayed there when the party around him went on and on, doing their stuff.

Then, suddenly, he slapped himself into face. HARD. And the kind of a slap that's sound makes you think "ouch, that's gotta hurt!".

"Guys, we need to focus! We are inside the Tower! The bizarre unknown man-killing pit full of deathtraps!"

With this said, he jumped up from the ground and headed toward a mountain half a kilometer to the... Actually, at this point everyone realizes that you have NO IDEA which direction is north.
So, he headed "to your left from the large cave entrance". Clearly trying to get to some cover, or to a spot where you could actually see around you.

"What is the deal with you and your sleeping sickness?" John said as he watched Zakarias start wandering away.

He shook his backpack better into place. Not waiting for Ramirez's answer he raised his voice and pointed his spear. "Let's follow the crazy, my friends. He seems to have a plan." Having ensured all knew what was going on, he began to follow the mage at a slow careful pace, eyeing the nearby wilderness for signs of life.

Han remained as serene as ever, though he did pull out a notebook and begin taking notes on the terrain.

Ray placed Ramirez back on his feet, giving him a quick once over to check for signs of...whatever the heck just happen to him.

"I'm glad your awake but what in the world was that fainting spell? and how did u get that info about the terrain? are you somekind of druid?"

"Oh Oh! I like druids!" Burk's voice rose up.

Thirty seconds later

"What's a druid?"
