Okay. I'll just have to suck it up. Far be it from me to interrupt your story line. I'll have my character on your desk before morning.

Slight clarification: Tutunendo Colombia is the region the game takes place, not the town.

For now, you start as Humans, and for now, you eventually becomes Vampires only. I've never played Werewolf, so I know nothing of how they work.

Equipment:
Weapons: Smith and Wesson 9mm semi automatic handgun, bowie knife.

Other: Safe house filled with various clothing articles and other necessities, saving of eight hundred dollars cash, cellphone, picture of his old girlfriend, Rolex watch, and small plastic figurine of a howling wolf.

Background: If you could describe Kent Jefferson in two words they would be unlucky and hardy. It seemed that he was cursed from birth, born in a rundown Bronx clinic to a drug addicted mother who died giving him life he was immediately off to a bad start. The only family that the hospital could find for Kent was a vicious harpy of a cousin who was not overjoyed at adding another kid to her already overcrowded household of eight. Kent grew up in squalor and extreme poverty. The youngest out of his cousins he was often teased and abused, leading him to become a silent recluse. From an early age Kent was an observer, the mean streets were his classrooms and the most hardcore criminals his unwitting teachers. By the age of fourteen Kent had an eye opening experience. He had just committed a larceny which left him with little over eight hundred dollars, more money than he knew what to do with. He decided to hide it in his bedroom, but unfortunately the stash was found by Kent’s oldest cousin who immediately seized it. When Kent protested his cousin knocked him out cold. When Kent awoke he laid on the grimy floor running his epiphany through his mind: the world wasn’t a nice place. The world wasn’t a good place. The world was a place where the strong reigned and the defenseless suffered.

By the age of twenty two Kent had grown from a scrawny no name underfed silent boy of African American descendent, into a six feet two muscular grave man with a malicious streak. His hazel eyes bears the hard look of a man who have seen the world at its worst and can never forget it. His long black hair he wears in dreadlocks and tribal tattoos covers his brawny brown arms. Kent had fought his way up from the slums of Bronx using terror and violence as his only weapons. He was now one of the most feared men in the New York underworld, his great talent was the fact that he could commit a job of murder singlehandedly which automatically meant that discovery and persecution from the law was almost impossible. And despite having no schooling whatsoever Kent had a head for numbers and marketing, it was no surprise when he entered into cocaine distribution. For a year business was good, he received his shipment through a complicated smuggling ring branching out from Tutunendo, Columbia to Miami and then finally to New York. But then something happened, Kent’s shipment started coming later and later until finally they stopped. He tried to get in touch with his contact but the man could not be reached, that made Kent nervous. This associate was one of the few Kent trusted enough to actually call him a friend, he had proven his loyalty time and time again so the fact that he had cut off all communication could only mean that something was terribly wrong. Kent decided to see to the problem himself so after settling the affairs that needed attention he charted a private sea vessel to Tutunendo, completely unaware of how this simple action would change his life. He arrived in Tutunendo and made his way to a small out of order bathroom on the dock, as per his instruction a plain box was hidden in one of the broken down stalls. Kent checked to make sure the box contents were to his specifications. It was, a handgun with the serial scratched off, a razor sharp bowie knife, and the key and address to what he hoped was an apartment with warm water. He hid all the equipment on his person then set out, intent to find his associate no matter where the journey led him.

Personality: Kent’s personality is a complex one mostly forged by his upbringing. He prefers to operate by himself or with a bare minimum of people, believing that everyone you know will betray you inevitably willingly or not. The amount of friends he has ever made can be counted on one hand. Kent applauds strength and despises weakness, especially in himself. He is quiet, speaking little but when he does speak it is always frank and to the point regardless of who he may insult. Kent can be a cold bastard when it is necessary but most time he is warm and giving, especially to those impoverish. He has a warped twisted outlook on life created by his own experiences, seeing life as an enemy who he both loves and despises. Above all Kent is resilient, he prides himself on never ever giving up no matter what is thrown at him he overcomes. He has killed repeatedly, but still feels some regret for his actions and wished that he had a better life than the one he has.

Damn. This took forever but I don't regret a second of the time spent. At the very least I now know how to properly set up a VtR character sheet. :D

Been kind of curious about the newer edition of WoD, so if its cool thought I'd jump into this. Also, playing Alan Wake has really gotten me in the mood and mindset for a little supernatural horror.

Equipment: When Kevin travels he travels light, usually with just the minimum changes of clothes he needs, a bathroom kit, and an ever present set of journalist tools; notepads and pens, digital camera, audio recorder, video recorder, and a pair of sunglasses. If he's going on a camping trip he brings the bare essentials but little else. No fool to the dangers of being a man always traveling he does own two firearms; a hunting rifle and a light caliber revolver. The rifle is usually in the trunk of his aged and beat up faded blue Ford Charger, with the pistol in the glove compartment. He does have a license for carrying a concealed weapon but he rarely bothers unless he's out snooping for information in a bad part of town.

Background: Kevin Cole was a child who loved monsters. It didn't matter if it was in a scary movie or in a book, he just seemed to like the idea critters, spooks, things that went "bump" in the night. Part of this was just childish fancy, but the rest was just a general need of an escape from reality, where the "real" monsters of his life were his parents. Both were substance abusers, his father ex-military and unemployed and his mother a waitress at the local diner of a small rural town in Idaho. Kevin had been an unplanned child and the family's tenuous financial state was made worse with the addition of a child, so Kevin was rarely treated as anything other than a nuisance, and often with severe abuse.

As he got older Kevin was able to find more and more ways to escape from the poor reality of his home life, branching out from a simple child interest in monster stories and starting to get into the regular trouble a young boy and later a young teenager could be expected to get into. Frail and thin in build he was something of a target for bullies in school but he managed to carve his own niche with some of the more adventurous kids whom he convinced to go with him on excursions into the wooded foothills outside town. As he got older his interest in monsters spread out from reading stories and watching movies to taking a hobby interest in the classical myths and legends alongside some of the more recent hunts for supposedly extinct or unknown creatures, leading to his first forays into studying the often considered "crackpot" field of cryptozoology.

His home life got worse with the death of his father from an overdose of opium, which pushed his mother into a mental state that made he all but impossible to live with. Kevin had only a year left to finish high school and he spent most of it away from home, crashing at various friends houses when possible, or sneaking into the rooms of one or more of the various girls he'd begun to sleep around with at the time. He barely graduated and almost immediately went into the military as a means to get out of his hometown. Joining the navy he became a cryptology specialist to be trained in Korean and serve as a interpreter. However he only performed that job for a year before he ended up being transfered to a different task, that of a mass communication specialist, after he showed promise for journalist writing. During this time he continued to independently research cryptozoology as a hobby, tracking various real world experts in the field and reading their published research.

His libido got him into serious trouble however after three years in the navy when it became known that he'd been having a relationship with an officer at his base. He was dishonorably discharged after a court martial. He used what little savings he had with some student loans to go to school to get a degree in anthropology and a minor in biology, hitting upon the idea that he'd start turning his hobby into a full blown career as a cryptozoologist. At first he had a lot of trouble just making ends meat, and found that in order to keep money in his pocket he'd have to find a decent day job. His skill at writing provocative articles got him a job for a national tabloid, which he's worked at for the past six months now. However this is just meant to fund his private excursions into the field of studying and researching leads on undiscovered species, the "monsters" that captivated his imagination as a child. His work for the tabloid pays well enough and sends him out to all sorts of places to get material and he takes occasional vacations with a few people he knows who works as cryptozoologists to help with their research. Most recently his editor has sent him off to Tutunendo Columbia, with the idea that the recent rash of sensational murders in the area will be a gold mine of material for the tabloid.

Personality: Kevin is a open minded and energetic sort, but always a little erratic and at times rudely unconcerned with other people's feelings. He has a strong flare for the dramatic and has an air of the dreamer about him, always willing to either fuel the flames of other people's imaginings or start them up himself. He's friendly enough for the most part but rarely connects with people beyond the surface level, having never made any true lasting bonds with anyone. Like most adults who suffered abuse as a child he is afraid of close attachments and has trouble relating to others outside of base social situations. He does, however, have a fiery libido and has left a string of intense if meaningless love affairs behind him. He lives primarily in the moment, either seeking to satisfy his intense curiosity and romantic love of seeking the "truth is out there" or just finding a quick night of pleasure. Though he doesn't quite fit the stereotypical image of the crack-pot scientists or journalists who chase after big-foot or lake monsters he does steadfastly believe that there is more to the world than meets the eye, though he'd never openly admit to believing in anything supernatural. He's steadfast and stubborn once he's set a course for himself, to the point of being pig-headed and the easiest way to get him to do something is to suggest he shouldn't.
