Absence Thread

Postby Pariel on Tue Apr 28, 2009 9:49 am

I think it's a good idea we set one of these.

I currently had my laptop suffer a severe case of spark madness and now it smells burnt. Needless to say I may be cut off a few an unspecified amount of time.

Cheers.

I agree.

At the moment, Im currently on my sister's computer typing this trying to figure out what the heck happened to my hardrive/monitor/mobo/whatever it is, which keeps me from booting up my own comp. *hmmm* Couuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuld be a while before im back in action. :B

*EDIT*

Werid problem, but i think i have it fixed. I disconnected my monitor and reconnected it to another comp to make sure it was still working; it was. So, I decided to boot up my original pc without my monitor. It started booting up like it was supposed to originally; what a weird problem. :B

Anyway, with the monitor back working like it should be, the computer up and running, and everything seems to be fine again. Weird. o_O

Sounds similar to what happened to my old machine before it died for good. Did the power lights and fans come on but no sign of booting up? If so then i'm 90% sure it means the hard drive starting to go.

The power and computer processing lights came on like it would, except at the time, the customary beep before any computer powers up did not sound off like usual. Even the power supply fan came on, as did the cpu fan.

I suspect that sometimes my newer monitor and older system does not always get along when I run certain programs. *shrugs* Weird and strange is all I can say that it was.

Yeah that sounds exactly like what I had. I fear that you will have this problem happen again every once in a while. I found that turning it off at the plug and leaving it for a good half hour usually got it to go again. You should probably back up anything you don't want to lose if you haven't already!

Like I said, i'm only 90% sure it is the hard drive...what I had was certainly nothing to do with the monitor tho.

Absence thread! XD

-Pariel, yay for your new toy! I am happy to see you alive and kicking.

As for me, I'm not absent or anything, but I am now living in Japan. We arrived yesterday, and so I'm adjusting to the time change. It's 7:14 in the morning as I type this and back home it's 3:16pm yesterday. I feel like it's late as hell but it's early as crap. It's been giving me a pretty good headache.

So if I seem sluggish or weird in my postings I apologize!
