Re: Employment Opportunities - Help the Clan!

I just asked this in the shoutbox and then figured that here was a better spot:

a newbie question: I assume the ambassador and mana specialist aren't recruiting currently as they aren't listed in the employment thread?

I'm still quite undecided where to work, so I'm open to a good pitch :)

Mana Specialist and Ambassador are special cases. They cannot recruit, the Ambassador is a single person post and the Mana Specialist a dynamic duo. Kern has forbidden them from recruiting at the time, I wouldn't hold out hope for it opening any time soon though. ^^;

Apart from that, every other rank is recruiting, the first post on this thread is out of date, but a few ranks are short on numbers, so it is your choice where you wish to be.

The professions (that can recruit) with the least people at this time are: Overseers, Harvesters and Crafters.

I'm not sure how strained the Overseers are with the current number of slaves we have, but they seem to manage. Harvesters we are perenially short of.

That said, the builders have a number of large projects going ahead and would almost certainly appreciate the help. Miners are also always happy for new people.

The ranks probably least in 'need' of extra hands at the moment are the healers, techs, blacksmith, scouts and warriors. However, none are going to say no, if you ask to join.

So, overall, it's your choice to make. Just post in the ranked members thread in the Community Centre if you want to catch their attention. If you're stuck between one or two, some of the ranks have a description of what they do and their aims are at the start of their threads. Some of these need a bit of dusting off and updating (I'll admit mine does ^^;)

Also remember you can always change jobs later, you just need to ask to be fired and then hired by the rank you are moving to.

It hasn't been long since our last call for help, has it? ^^;

Well, whatever... The Overseers need help again.

And for those who need a little more incentive, here's our lovely Overseer Aeryll asking help from anyone unemployed and in need of a job, or willing to change professions in order to help. }:3

Ask the Slave Master to apply directly, or send me a private message and I'll relay the request to her. ;)

But I don't like slavery. It's so inefficient...

but we don't have other forms of energy to replace it yet. We don't even have steam power, so slavery is the tech of choice.
