Hey my name is name Durruti, and I joined PtP a couple of days back though I've been following Drowtales for years now. I'm a major lurker, but the concept of PtP interests me. Plus I have an affinity for community building. In some ways you could call me a community organizer IRL although it is very informal. I do a lot of part time work so that leaves me with a lot of time on my hands. I'm kinda a jack of all trades, and my interest and curiosity is large. I live in Holland but originally come from the States.

I still have to develop my character but I'm working on the concept of a forge worker with a hot temper. His name is Durruti, and is a Drow of great height and musculature. He comes from a family famous for it's skill with building and crafting, but also for it's notorious temper and inability to respect authority. That said however he is a sociable personality and will try to do what's best for the clan in difficult circumstances. I'll make a better concept later.

Konnichiwa. HorusRe here to say hi! I’m one part son of Isis, one part father of the entire Paut Neteru, but mostly I’m just a guy that loves RP and has this tendency to follow my fiancé' about (which would be your very own Jai'byrd) where ever she goes. It has taken me a long time to gather up the nerve to come here, this community is so tight, and the world so in-depth and well developed, that it reminds me a little of the first time I sat down to a game of Forgotten Realms and had to have all the names detailed for me as we went along. I just started looking into the story of Drow Tales (though I have seen the artwork many times and have always been a fan of the amazing talent of those that put the series together) so my knowledge is rudimentary at best. But I am a quick study and I hope to get up to chops soon enough.

I'm debating a variation of a Drow concept that got me through a Forgotten Realms Drow campaign setting. Raeth-zar would be a commoner by birth, and a male consort (to someone of rank) by training; specialist at massage and the concoction of oils/scents/lotions, pretty much what one would expect from someone that has spent his whole life groomed to pleasure the lady he was indentured to... and trained political assassin. For what better tool than some non-descript commoner, usually unseen by those of power, and completely disposable? So in addition to his skill with making essential oils (and the like) he is also trained in poisons and toxins, slight of hand, distraction, and disguise. Of course I don’t plan on any of that being applied to any practical purpose, Raeth doesn’t want to volunteer to be someone’s tool again. So really he’s just a guy that works hard, stays quiet, and knows how to concoct oils and other sensual mineral/botanical products.

Not sure if that will fly or not, I'm used to lofting up lead balloons, but I am hopeful. And flexible of course! So long as I can follow Jai'byrd around like the love-smitten-kitten that I am. ^^

...You would not believe how many times I deleted what I typed to be the first line of this introductory post. Cripes.

Hey guys, I would be one of those curious lurkers that finally decided to join after listening to the podcasts that the group put up - what can I say? I'm a sucker for peer pressure and yes, subliminal messaging. I am excited to be here, nervous about jumping into a plot halfway, but ready to sink my teeth into the first algae cookie I can find! And, you know, hold buckets of water for the builders, pile rocks, make string - all those useful things. (see, I WAS listening!)

About me - well, I am a college student working on a degree in professional writing and applied communications - this does not mean that I am a grammar freak or an anal speller by any means. Those would be the copyeditors, and if you speak their name too loudly they will come so sh! I'm still working out the details about my character - I have a bunch of forum reading to do before I want to make any permanent decisions but I have decided on the name Ka'taliyn, and quite possibly some dreadlocks, just to be different. I look forward to getting to know the community and look forward to many glorious hours here as well.

Welcome Picanet!!
Check out the Tei'kaliath census. It'll give you a quickie overview of your clanmates and an idea of what gets overused in character design and what is being overlooked. :)

Greetings clan Tei'kaliath and well met!

I stumbled upon this place quite by accident thinking PtP was just a plain old web comic. I got the link here off of https://www.deviantart.com after seeing some Shiir'fhayah fan art pieces. Now after reading through here I can see this isn't so much a comic but a role playing game where each character in the story belongs to a subscriber though not every subscriber has named a character yet. I also listened to the pod cast about creating a character so I may just do that since it was encouraged. I will have to think about what is needed right now in terms of new characters but I am getting some ideas.

A little bit about my background is I have role played in the past through EverQuest and Dungeons and Dragons campaigns way back in the day. I enjoy reading books about the forgotten realms especially the Legend of Drizzt series which got me hooked on drow in the first place. I can't really draw but I do use the "Gimp" photoshop to some extent.

Welcome!

I have to say, the drow here don't resemble the drow of the Underdark much anymore, so have a look around and don't hesitate to ask in the School thread in the Roleplay section :)

Kir'ima here. Love what Kern & Co. are doing with DrowTales and PTP, and hope I don't overstep or embarrass myself too badly at first, you know, like double posts in the shout box (insert "get the newbie" macro here).

In real life? Well, kind of like my character. Probably older than most, I have seen a lot of different places with close to half my life outside my home country, and held a lot of different jobs, from farmer/rancher and construction to professional student, sales, office worker, import/export trader, teacher, and even the dreaded 'bureaucrat'. Currently a freelance translator, who knows what I will be doing a couple of years from now.

My character is the typical never-settled-down jack-of-all-trades type, so add me to any war party in a crisis, and when it's over just throw me back into the general labor pool unless there is some special short-term project that I feel a particular need to do.

Hello everyone~

Mal'ithra here and I'm new to Path To Power. Ehehe, actually I just subscribed yesterday after much debate with myself of reading Drowtales and thinking whether I should finally subscribe to the other services provided. I believe I'm quite happy with the decision, as reading through the comic and some of the posts, I realize just how much I was missing out on. I hope to get along with everyone here as best as I could~

Heh, it would appear that like a few others recentely I've been reading DrowTales for some time and was drawn to suscribe after listening to the podcasts and being intrigued by the concept, well that and finding some free time as my course (Environmental Sciences) at university draws to a close for summer.

Much like Picanet said a few posts back I plan to poke around the forums a bit first, familiarise myself with it a bit more then decide what i want to do. I don't lay claim to vast experience in roleplay or community building, but i've participated in a few forum roleplays and have been in town councils or advisor type positions in MMO's for various reasons.

Welcome Kitab!
Once you're ready, post your character's vital stats in the Census thread and I'll enter (him/her?) in the Census. You might want to take a look there first. Right now there is a lot of repetition in character designs. See what everyone else has done so your character can make a unique contribution to the clan. :)

Hi, I'm Nastra. I only started reading Drow Tales a few days ago and liked what I saw so I decided to give Path To Power a try. It seems really interesting and it's a very original idea. What intrigued me the most is the capacity for players to become characters within the story. Nice to meet you all.

Hi Nastra! Welcome to the P2P forums!
Have a look around. This is probably the most active of the Drowtales forums. All members are considered clan members. If you want to assist a ranked member, put a character description in the (char. desc.) on the comic main page, so the ranked member can hire you. If you also post a drawing of the character you have a chance of being shown in the comic, too. :) There is a section for members to create and RP their own characters. Once that character is approved by the RP monitor Madea, you can join all the RP fun, too. :D
