But that only applies once the armies choose to face each other in battle. We want our leader to seem powerful and confident without ever having to touch a sword. (For that, yes, she does need to know how to use one, but there's a hell of a lot more to it than that.)

I'm just glad we made it on time, and hope that we're not overly worn from having to book it across the cavern. Good and quick work troops!

Do you think they're the former owners that closed the mine down?

I'm presuming squad 5 is on bodyguard duty since we're not there.
I'm also gonna assume Shiir's abs are made of steel considering he has no armour XD.

Time slows to three updates a day?

Supply Master: Smelly and slimy, Kirisu. It's what's not for dinner. :x

Arichitech: After the Kirisu, the balcksmiths aren't so bad. Lets let them back in the ruins.

Warrior: The warriors have used up their quota of faces for the rest of the month. Oh, wait it is the end of the month. :p

Nurse: Anyone seen the clothes pins?

Blacksmith: We need string. :3

Tech: Aw, nobody gets soak this time. }:3

Crafter: Doh, slings make poor sling shots. *upset*

I had noticed the lack of Shiir armor, but let's face it, he doesn't harness the power of the abs with them covered.

As for what to do with the Kirisu. I appears to be inedible to Drow or tiki, but what about the fish? Another alternative is to use the kirisu meat as bait for other insects in the area, some of which may be more edible. If all else fails, we could probably grow mushrooms in it. (Get the slaves to carry it home. That is what slaves are for!) Also, the Kirisu exoskeleton, which is hard and chitinous, could maybe be used to make something? I know that kerotin (mammal hair, fingernails, a horn) softens in hot water and becomes pliable; I don't know if chitin does the same thing, but even if it doesn't, the scales may be useful in making shields or something.

Well, business is about to pick up again. ^^; But just to make a note, if we intend for the Ill'haress to help deal with this situation (and we probably will), that means we'll have to put her training aside for awhile.

Hopefully this week's session will go through before she is informed of the visitors and decides to help, but I'm afraid we may or may not have time to squeeze in any other visits for a week or two.

Well, we are about to deal with our fourth encounter, what will it be this time?

In order it was:
1. runaway slaves
2. low end slavers
3. small scale traders

Because they are armed I don't know what to think, but I hope that our overwhelming show of force will make them back down. Also it looks like our leader's lessons are about to be interpreted, hopefully not for long.

:) A good page. Wish we had a heads up about the slow-down though. Or if we did, I missed it. That's possible.

Better slings are made, but hopefully we'll get some real distance weapons.

((Probably a safe assumption that whenever we have 'guests' to attend to, time will slow down. Shouldn't really affect EA actions though. If a full day action gets cut into multiple parts, just makes the subsequent actions easy to write unless there's something the rank needs to directly address.))

So does this mean that the crafters and the forge assistants will be working together to make bow string?

Well, what would we make it from? I doubt the algae can be made into a rope that's both thin and strong enough. Historically bowstrings were made of sinew or certain long plant fibers. Does kirisu have sinew?
