Update! Thoughts, everyone?

My current thought is- we can scout those participating in the tournament to see who'se best suited to encounter the slaves when we go to speak with them. (That, and I'm jazzed Ys'sa showed up again. )

Lady Tenkage- my thoughts exactly. :3
Well, almost exactly. We still want to find someone to serve as a diplomat, but those who do well in the tournament will make a good guard. ^.^
(Plus it gets around Kern's 'no fighting experience' thing. >;3 MWAHAHAHA)

However, I think we should attempt to give them a day to practice with the weapons, when we're ready, unless something happens that requires us to act faster.
Still, they should have at least some very basic experience on how to hold, use, draw their weapons etc before sending them off to potentially fight with them, otherwise they could be more hindrance then help.

Still, weapons won't be done for a while yet.

I know Kirio's been worried about the slaves- when the tournament is out of the way, and our guard practicing, I fully support a lookout keeping an eye on the slaves, if that doesn't fall under the scout duties to assign.

Soooo, would that make them "escorts"? Hah! Okay, I can laugh at my bad jokes another time. But, yeah, once it's done, we can scout through the participants for a half-way decent defensive unit! I love loopholes!

Hmm, well aside for a one or two lookouts keeping a watch on the ruins to make sure the slaves don't sneak off on us, I don't see that there is much to suggest to the Il'haress until we know (officially) what Q has seen.

The events update and the map that Thalar linked to took a big load off of my (kirio's) mind. It's very unlikely anyone from Chel'el'Sussoloth is going to bother to come way out here by chance. Other escaped slaves might come this way, but if they had any knowledge of the city's outskirts they would know that there are many much more promising places to go than this out of the way abandoned cavern with no connection to any major trade route.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the slaves in the ruins ended up here because they were fleeing in a panic and got lost.

Combing back, eh? ;P It's good you think of hygiene, even in a time like this. :D (I know, terrible joke.)

Anyway... to the matter at hand.

The lookouts for the slaves aren't much of a priority to ME, personally.

More so, I'd like to, after the tournament, post something along the lines of-

"Train tournament winners for fighting/gaurd force."

I'd mention something about the weapons, but I feel they wont be finished. Also was considering something along the lines of 'find diplomat to reason with slaves,' but again, it could wait, and also, too many different things per post might be unhappy.

PErhaps the one after could be 'Arm gaurd force and have them practice for a day' and then 'find diplomat to reason with slaves, escorted by guards'
Or something along those lines. (Those two have not been tested.)

(Note- this has been tested to fit the suggestion box. :3)

Any alterations/suggestions? Post-tournament, hopefully we can start getting

Well, thing is I don't think they should immediately got to meet the slaves- first they have to practice with the weapons, and wait for them being finished. During that time they can train, and once they're done they should get used to the weapons before confronting the slaves.

So, have them practice, then maybe after that would be a good time to have a diplomat found for dealing with outside clans and slaves. (Especially as it should coincide nicely with Quel's return.)

Or even reverse it, or do both at once. :3

We may know after the next events update whether there will be any weapons to practice with. I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait quite awhile since in the last update it was mentioned that tools need to be made first.

One thing that would make watching over the ruins (and possible slave escape) easier would be to post one of the lookouts we already have where she can see the area between the ruins and the light easily. This wouldn't interfere with her primary duty to look out for trouble and give us ample warning in case the slaves try to give us the slip.

Yes, Iknow. But you don't need weapons for the gaurds to train, though their training with weapons recommendation will of course wait for said weapons to be prepared.
Until then, I Still think they should be trained to be the gaurd, and a diplomat found.
