Fen Wolves [OOC]

Postby Pariel » Wed Dec 23, 2009 11:48 pm

So, you want to be Highland Raider? You want to see the world above and live glorious adventures? DO you want to be part of one of the greatest clans under the greatest leadership of all time?

If so, you've come to the wrong place. We're not glorius. We're not even important. Ours is a life in the borders in civilization. Ours is a replaceable existence. Ours is a risky endeavour. Welcome to the Fen Wolves, fellow Sarghress. I am Nili'shaun, and I shall be your squad leader. Ask about my past, and you'll get it. Mess with your teammates and you'll get it. Do something stupid and you'll end up dead, or if not I'll make you wish you were. I will ask no questions about you. I will not ask for your creed. All I will ask is what you can do and how can you help. The lone wolf dies. The pack survives.

-Okay, trying to set up a squad here since most people lean towards Nals. If I'm satisfied, I'll push this forward.

Greetings Pariel, I am very interested in your squad and know of three others who share this interest ^^ . My character is an empathic mana specialist with healing abilities, always helpful to have a field medic handy when things go wrong, and carrying a naginata (i can ditch the spear if its not allowed in mana specialists or if you know of a weapon better suited to one of my class). Izz'ril is ambitious but respectful of the chain of command so he would serve Nili'shaun well and do whats expected of a soldier in dangerous wilderness territory. I promise to do my all for the squad and follow orders to the letter, if you allow me entry of course ^^

Hello pariel, sir! Just expressing my interest in a spot in your squad, danger and risk sound good to me! Perhaps it'll satisfy mother a little this time. Could you exaggerate the ways I might die to her a little more if she'd ask? In any case, if you need someone to stand in the way or a raging dragon running straight towards you, I'm your man! I might even survive!

***
OOC bit, made the description.
As the fourth son of a mercenary captain, Gi'dion had the opportunity during his youth to slack of a little, as the brunt of the pressure was on the first three sisters, and learn some of the more fun things in life. This was quickly cut short when he was found out, or rather betrayed by said sisters, to have a little to much fun with one his mothers preferred mates.
The consequence of this was being send just about everywhere he would meet an ugly death, as painfull and horrible as possible, something completely unfair was the end conclusion. Miraculously surviving a few of these expeditions he'd convinced his dear mother that he could go with a Relic Hunter expedition. After all, how bad would it be? And perhaps he'd find something that'd distract mother enough to be send on something easy afterwards.
Standing a 5"9' tall Gi'dion is a care-free character with more actual battle experience then he'd like to admit having. He usually hides his loyalty under witty remarks and sometimes biting criticism. His most favourite weapon is a two meters long halberd, with which he brags he can kill Drow in a dozen or more different ways and a dagger or two as back up in close quarter situations.

Feel free to send the invite.. or do you want me to send a joining option to you? Anyway, also willing to make changes/additions (preferbly additions) to the description if it makes the squad more cohesive :]

It seems we're facing a dilemma here. If you say what is true, durlyn, you'd make four applicants... plus minalia, kalandrin, and the owner of Bro'toh , it is seven people trying to fill all slots. Of course I don't want to prevent anyone from joining me, but I'll have to wait on who will be joining in the end. Meanwhile, if I'm not mistaken, Madea is also making another Sarghress squad.

Here are some tips that I hope it'll be helpful.

Keep your character description concise. In the old RP we had two paragraphs. One for description, one for personality. Here I suppose it'll be an overall description in one paragraph. Descriptions of characters appear in popup windows, and for convenience it's best if they're kept short and concise, leaving only the essentials.

Second. Characters are "first level", or in other words, just a step from complete newbies. You can claim highbreed in your background as far as I'm concerned, but keep in mind your character would be more or less an average joe in the drow world.

Third, the gear issue. You beat me. I have no idea as to what we'll be given, so don't assume you'll be given anything. You'll be not disappointed. Weapon specialists shall have weapons, but I'm not sure what will they be given, so be ready to expect ending up with other weapons. Mana specialists aren't for swinging weapons around, so don't expect we'll be given fancy things. We might be given fancy things, but that i cannot guarantee.

Fourth. My proposal.

My proposal of team is something between three weapon specialists and two users (myself included) or two weapon specialists and three mana users, in order to keep things a bit balanced and flexible. Bear in mind with that.

Other than that, I'm thankful... (and terrified) of having so many people interested.

Understood Pariel, I'll take your advice and try to tweak my character bio accordingly (gotta cut some stuff, XD). And I understand what you're saying, you gotta pick people who are best suited to helping the unit, so the friends I mentioned and I may not all get to join, but at least we'll have somewhere to go if Madea starts a squad as well. Still, I'll make the changes you suggested and let ya know when they're done for your approval.

Edit: Bio is complete, hope it meets with your approval (otherwise there's more stuff i can cut or reword if necessary)

Name: Izz'ril Noa'muth Sarghress
Clan: Sarghress
Class: Mana Specialist
The elder of a pair of drowolath twins born to Devess Astarte Noa'muth Sarghress, Izz'ril is a 78 year old highland raider. The Noa'muth subhouse is known for its proud tradition with the raiders & is charged with the duty of breeding & raising the Koa'naka. He and his sister Mira'linn were fathered by a Sullisin'rune scholar named Khur'zon, who would later tutor Izz'ril in the ways of sorcery & dark elf lore after his empathic affinity was first triggered by bullies (his fear attracted a nearby dire wolf who scared the brats off). Thanks to these lessons & the raiders' training, Izz'ril is skilled in combat mana arts. His empathy enables him to sense the emotions of others as well as heal injuries, making him a handy field medic. During his time with his father Izzy became aware of the gender dispute between the teachers of Orthorbbae & the rest of drow society, and has determined to prove a male can do anything a female can do if he works hard & puts his mind to it. Boyishly handsome thanks to his father's blood, Izzy is armed with the fighting spirit of the wolf and the charisma of the tiger. 5'8'' tall, Izzy has dyed his hair Sullisin blue but with Sarghress red tips and has mismatched eyes, one golden yellow like a wolf and the other crystal blue. He is respectful of his superiors & looks out for his teammates, taking his duty seriously, but has a playful side to him too, especially around Mira & cute females, >;3

Hi Pariel, internet has been down at my house so I'm trying to get as much done as possible while I'm at a cafe. Here's a cut down version of my bio:

Name: Mira'linn Noa'muth Sarghress
Clan: Sarghress
Class: Mana Specialist
Mira’linn and her twin brother Izz’ril are the children of Astarte Noa’muth Sarghress and Khur’zon Tia’fett Sullisin’rune, a highland raider and Sullisin’rune scholar respectively. After her brother’s empathy manifested her mother sent him off to their father to learn to control it, and Mira managed to shanghai herself along by throwing a fit and shaking the room for emphasis with her earth sorcery. Once there she instantly fell in love with the scholarly Sullisin’rune ways, and took a particular interest in dark elf history and why some of their settlements succeeded while others did not, and focused on mana-based skills as part of her general training, specifically earth sorcery, which she had an affinity towards. She is often somewhat aloof and mysterious, and despite her propensity for reading others she rarely lets on what’s going on in her own head. She does occasionally show a more vulnerable side, especially to her brother, but usually keeps this under wraps and prefers to remain an enigma. 78 years old, gold eyes, and light blue (dyed) hair, usually kept in a braided bun. She is 6' tall, slightly taller than her brother. The pince-nez she wears is purely decorative and serves no purpose besides appearance.

Looks like everyone in my group is thowing in their Bio's so I'll toss mine in as well, hope it helps you make a fair decision whether or not to let me in. Slightly expanded.

Name: Bro'toh Sarghress
Race: Drowoloath
Hair: White that he lets drape to his shoulders
Eyes: Brown
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 140 pounds
Age: 63
Melee specialist Martial skill: Brotoh wields a short sword and buckler, a wiry fighter, he tends to go for quick attacks over power
Affinity: Metal
I got no noble background. I had a mother, the local medicine woman of the neighborhood, who taught me some basic first aid and a father I barely knew, who spent his days working as a miner to provide food for me and my six siblings. A bit of a runt and with a mouth, I fell in with a street gang where I learned how to fight and steal. Mom didn't care for my choice in lifestyle and disowned me for being such a disgrace. I did alright in the gang until a bad territory dispute ended the gang and I was lucky to make it out alive. Having no place to go home to I decided to try my hand as a mercenary, my combat skills being sufficient enough I ended up joining the Sarghress.

Important notice!

Post your profile TODAY. And SOON. I'm on CET. If I don't see it today, you'll be excluded from the final decision. No keeps for other people will be made as this is urgent. That means you personally apply or ask me in the RH website.

Edit:

Here's mine.

Name: Nili'shaun
Clan:Sargh'ress
Occupation:Mana Specialist
Bio:
A former summoner of the Val'Sharen clan, Nili'shaun fled in the aftermath of war following Sillice's kin. She found her niche among the Highland raiders, where her noble upbringing would pay off in the form of leadership skills, summoning and academic knowledge. Haughty and bitter, she now aspires some day to rebuild all what is lost.

Nili'shaun is a taller than average drow (but not too tall), with a definitive feminine figure. She usually wears her hair well groomed, a natural shade of purple. She has green eyes.

Okay. Given the perspective, this is my decision.

Since Kalandrin nor Maria have shown up yet, they're excluded from the squad for now.

Squad members are: Durlyn, LP, Aeryll, and Athena.

Incidentally, all your characters are guys. Isn't that fun?
