Questions!

Re: Questions!

Okay, my question may stem from ignorance or just sheer curiosity.

As it stands, both campaigns are evenly teamed (Four on Campaign 1 and four on Campaign 2.) Greystone has to join one of these Campaigns and one seems to be at a natural spot for another squad to join in.

However, let us say (for my curiosity is piqued): What if a adventure finishes on both Campaigns (or another Campaign starts as another finishes) and a squad that finished the adventure glances over to another Campaign and states 'Oh. Well we have a better standing with Squad X, and it'd put the game in favor of House Y. Let's go over there!' Does the Squad that moves Campaigns (if it is even possible, I don't even know) keep what they have earned? Can a Squad simply leave a Campaign at some point and wait to join a different Campaign?

As I understand it, you're free to leave one campaign and join another whenever you please - howerver, the squad does it on the provisio that they are cancelling out all of their progress in the first campaign, and are entering the second campaign right from the start line, no matter how far head the other squads of the second campaign are (to stop someone just swooping in and snatching the prize that other squads have sweated and bled for). In the early stages of a campaign it's not much of a problem, but by lategame you're best staying where you are and fighting for what you can.
A clerk thought that Curzon's memorandum was balls. But he was afraid to say so directly, so he wrote faintly in the margin "Round Objects". Lord Curzon replied in a note: "Who is Mr. Round, and why does he object?"

I'm curious as to the limits of any particular action, I typically go by the common sense 'your limited to what you see in front of you'. So as an example in the Campaign 2 March 20th strip where we're approaching a door I'd assume our action would encompass 'open the door' in any particular way. However if we wanted to stay to learn more, what would our squad be limited to?

If we wanted to draw a rough map of the area, study and learn more about the door, and learn more about the sign outside itself, how many of these actions would pass? Are we limited to only one or is the fact that they all more or less relate to information gathering make it more tolerable?

Would a one-handed ax for a mana specialist be PC as a backup weapon? I checked in the thread and didn't see anything that specifically addressed it. Backup plan is a Genani-style hammer like weapon.

Edit: Never mind, answered.

This isn't an urgent matter, just a case of "something that would be nice", and not "the game is lesser without it". However, with the relic hunters suffering their first fatality, would it be possible to introduce an 'honour roll' section where the glorious dead can be listed to commemorate their passing? It needn't be anything elaborate, just the character portrait with name, clan, and manner of death, e.g. "Izz'ril, Sarghress, set upon by drider". As well as offering some consolation to players who may have invested a bit in their characters, It could also enourage more new players to join in with the reassurance that they won't lose their characters completely after making effort in a write-up, as well as adding a little more character to the front end.

Again, this isn't necessary, and ultimately it's just a cosmetic modification, but it's something that I think would go down well.

I keep trying to comment in my group shoutbox but my posts aren't showing up at all. Why is that?

More questions!

What happens to a squad when the squad leader perishes in the line of duty (or gets eaten by a tik-tikki)?
Can one of the squad members take over leader duties?
Does the player have to make a new character that can fill the spot?
Or is the squad dead aswell and has to reform under a different name?

Depends on what the squad leader wants to do.

The GM's currently have the ability to assign anyone into the squad leader position. This means if a squad leader needs to go on a leave of absence, they have to designate someone else as the SL to input actions and we'll make the swap, and then they'll just count as an absent member until they come back.

If a squad leader dies, the squad leader determines what they want to do with the squad. If they want to disband it, they're allowed to; the squad members have to join other squads. If all remaining squad members reform into nearly the same squad, Thalar and I have agreed to allowed people to petition the Clan (aka, us) for some of the items they had (mostly the trophy stuff) as starting equipment. The rest gets reclaimed by the Clan; it's handled on a case by case basis.

If the squad leader wants to remake a character, we can assign them as the new squad leader. Or, if the old squad leader allows the new squad leader to be designated from within the squad, we can easily promote them. So, it literally is in the hands of the squad leader player.

This may be an old question but in my skimming of the archive dose anyone know what the standard equipment lay out of a relic hunter is besides their two choice weapons. Just wondering because you know... the devil is in the details.

The two standard, and rope. You get no details to your character I'm afraid.

Is there something wrong with character creation? I'm unable to save a character profile.
