A long voyage home. (Privet)

Following close behind Vithar and also looking down at the floating body in the shallow water. It was gross but she didn't really care for the human but looking at the ship between these rocks, she couldn't really help but wonder; how the hell did the ship stay intact?

"You Dumb Ass, I thought you were joking when you said you got it stuck it in the deck." Mae said to Uuera as she walked along the edge of the ship, looking for a way down. Those damned sailors must have had their own way down unless they jumped.

Then something shined along the shore line, it looked like a mana light. "Sir I got a net over here and I see what looks like a Mana light, it must be that Pariel guy." tugging at a make shift ladder and waved back with her own Mana light.

* * *

Somewhere farther in land. Pesty led the group of survivors further in land. They traveled light, all except for a large man named Cotten, who was bold enough to take a small keg of water strapped to his back along with his supplies.

"There must be a city near by. There has to be!" "Shut up thats what you said an hour ago!" Pesty got in between the two squabbling seamen, "Thats enough, since the captain gone, I'm in charge and they'll be no more fighten between here and civilization! If you don't like it you can go back with the black devils."

The crew grunted in repose. They were tired and were pushing their bodies to the limit. Non of them wanted to go back.

"What was that!?" Some one hushed. The crew froze in place, expecting some one to appear. "Theres nothing here you damned fool. Now lets--" There was a sudden snap as the sailor fell forward, an arrow stuck in his head.

Looking around at her situation, Uuera'unkara was stumped. "This is the last time I use mana art to stick this axe into something like this," she thought while quietly hanging. Then Vithar called up to her and tossed her a rope.

She caught the rope, swung it around the handle and proceeded to climb back down to the door to the lower deck. Halfway down the rope she saw Mae climbing across the ship's edge whom gave her a prompt, "You Dumb Ass, I thought you were joking when you said you got it stuck it in the deck". Uuera smirked slightly but then returned her expression to the stalwart tone it usually carried.

Once she reached the door and set her foot on (somewhat) stable ground she nodded to Vithar, "Why don't we search around for anything left that would be of good use?"

Leaving the net alone for the moment, Mae wondered back bellow deck "That sounds like a good idea. why waste what the humans left behind."

She wondered around the storage area and made her way towards the captains quarters. The humans for the took everything of value in the captains place, even all the maps. Now they had no real idea where they are or where the next human city is.

"I've got bad new and good new. The good news there enough of biscuits, salted pork and drink able water for us to last us a while. The bad news is they ransacked the captains place pretty hard and took everything of value." Mae said as she returned from the hold with some supplies.

"Can we get the hell off now. Dont make me beg for solid ground."

Vithar nodded as Uuera'kara descended the rope and landed on the ground, immediately checking the area to make sure Uuera and Mae were clear. "Stand clear, I'm going to get that axe back," he said before bracing his feet and giving the rope a firm tug. The Am'saag grunted as he put all of his strength into pulling the axe free from the dense wooden deck, breaking the weapon free with a loud crack. It tumbled end over end, passing through the open door before landing head first at the base of the stairwell. "There you go. Let's search the ship."

Vithar jumped back down the stairs, meeting Mae soon afterwards. "You and me both. Take all the goods you can carry. We're getting off this wreck," he muttered. The food was getting old after having the same thing the whole boat trip, but it beat starvation.

Uuera took up some of Mae's findings and carried them then after Vithar pulled the axe free she cranked it out of the floor and slung it onto her back with a sash. Some of the goods that Mae brought, Uuera carried in her helmet. They climbed up to the deck and searched for a way down to the shore together taking care of their meagre bounty recovered from the ship.

Uuera'unkara thought to herself as she climbed down the ship, "Humans have always been strange to me. Preferring to take the more valuable gear and leaving the necessities behind even when one of them would starve long before hunger could even begin to be a problem for us.."

Climbing down that net with all her gear was nerve racking. It didn't feel stable and her fee kept slipping or getting caught.

"Maybe the ones at sea are more stupid, then the ones on land Because who would spend their life doing that?" Mae said as she dropped down beside Uuera in the waist deep water, "Oh shit that cold." she cursed as the cold water seeped through her armor.

After a trudging through the water they finally made it to shore. "Well Isn't it Pariel. You just couldn't wait for us to get ashore and to build yourself fire. Cant blame you."

Shortly after the group get settled in, Pesty and one of the young sailors comes running out of the forest as if being chased. "Theirs people here and they have a giant! a giant I tells you!" Pesty remembers it well, one moment the group was arguing and the next they are attacked.

These people looked human but they spoke like dark elves.

Pesty and the young man must have ran for hours because when they finally reached the shore they both collapsed from exhaustion.

Pariel just shrugged. "You're raiders, no? What's a little shipwreck to the likes of you? Of course there's this whole playing with axes in the middle of a storm." He added as he wiggled one of the few stics with roasted crabs in it he had been able to rummage as soon as he hit the shore.

"The halmes all ran inside the forest. I thought it twice. Had a hunch you know?" He added as he twirled with one the few crabs he had managed to catch in the meantime they reached shore. "Roasted crab?" He offered.

Uuera crossed the chilled water alongside Mae as they came upon Pariel tending to a fire.

"You're raiders, no? What's a little shipwreck to the likes of you? Of course there's this whole playing with axes in the middle of a storm."

Uuera smirked at Pariel's comment and rebutted chuckling. "Well," she began, "You never know when enough is too much in a situation like that".

~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~

After a short time the first mate and another shiphand came bolting out of the forest shouting about giants that spoke a Drow language. Uuera looked to Vithar and Mae quizzically as if thinking about the implications of a Drow giant, "Did I hear that right; A giant that can speak in Drow Tongues?"

The climb down the net was a slow one, hampered by the shifting of the wreck. At a few occasions, Vithar was afraid that the ship would break under the strains of the tides and send the Highland Raiders plummeting into the ocean below. Fortunately, all three of the Sarghress reached the waist-deep water safely and made their way to shore, where Pariel awaited them with some roast crab.

"Yeah. Thanks for the food," Vithar muttered as he took a seat and one of the crabs. "Any idea what the humans were after?"

Just then, the first mate and another sailor ran out of the forest onto the beach, shouting something about giants. "One at a time...what happened to the others?"

"No thanks, I just want to sit down and enjoy the fire, and solid ground." Mae said with bit of a sigh of relief as she sat on a rock. "Just what the doctor ordered."

But her rest was short lived, as the remaining sailors seemed to jump out of the bushes, causing Mae to jump like a startled wolf, bearing her teeth and almost drawing her sword on them. "What?" Mae returned Uuera puzzled look. "Giants?... Could it be the Black Sun's here?!"

The younger sailor doubled over from exhaustion, his body wasn't built for running over a long periods of time. Pesty on the other hand was in better shape, even for a man his age but even he was short of breath. "They took the crew." He said, almost out of breath.

Pesty told them the story about the ambush. About a man twice as high as any hes ever met. He wore no clothing and was naked, his body was made of steel and his arms broke tore the limbs of every made man who stood against him. Then he told them about the elf men, humans who spoke elf and fired bows and used nets to capture the sailors.

While the telling the story, Pesty looked back at the forest time and again. He was afraid.

The younger sailor, the same young man that tried to woo Uurea, gave a shout and pointed towards the sea. Several sharks began to swarm around bloated corpse floating in the water, feasting on his rotten corpse.

It looked like to Mae that there was no turning back to the ship at this point. "Well shit, what now?"

"Serves you guys right" Pariel added as he took a bit. "There are far scarier things in this world than these black devils" He remarked as he tossed the stick that had been his food. He pondered as he saw some kind of sharp toothed fish eat the remains of the sailors that didn't make it.

He attached his sword to his waist as he checked on his armor. "As much as I hate it, It's either facing that giant-man-golem-thing or trying to see if we can be rescued in a dinghy raft." The blacksmith said.

"Unless..." He eyed the fire, and then the forest. "Nah, that'd make one heck of a ruckus, wouldn't it." He added, thinking on how the mix of forest and fire would be.

Uuera'unkara listened to the options Pariel Listed as the young, flirtatious sailor shifted closer to her. She considered the beastly fish and decided it would be best to prepare for the seemingly less dangerous journey through the forest.

"Perhaps if this giant is hostile we should prepare some kind of plan," Began Uuera while looking down at the short, frightened male; her third-eye gem catching a glare from the sun overhead. The Azure Wolf then asked the sailor in Irmionisk, "Can you run well?" The young man seemed confused while Uuera went on in Drow to Vithar, "How do you feel about attempting a bait-and-catch, captain?"

"Bait and catch huh." Mae smiled at Uuera and looked over at the increasingly nervous young man. "I think you just made this youngs day."

* * *

He didn't know how they talked him into this but he had to keep running back to the beach. The young sailor ran for his life, as arrows whizzed pasted his head and shouts cursed at him.

When he got to the beach, the only one waiting for him was the camp fire. He froze unsure what to do next, and that cost him dearly. Several of the Elf men caught up, tackling him and forcing him on the rocky beach.

There were no signs of the Iron Giant, but the men capturing the boy, spoke a language that was clearly a descendent of ancient dark elves. Most of them carried spears, while the few others had bows and the fewer older, and more experienced ones were giving orders, and were armed with copper swords and breast plate.

The odds didn't seem to be in the drows favor when it came to numbers but they had the advantage of being organized and the element of surprise. Mae's job was to clear out and keep the archers busy in the back. Slowly she rose from her hiding spot and lashed out with black steel. Lopping the head off of one bewildered looking archer and nearly the other. The near headless body was left with a stretch of skin to dangle his head. If she could help it she would bring in one alive.

The poor sailor was chased down and pinned to the beach not far from where Uuera was hiding. From her secret position she could see the struggle not five yards from her. In the distance Mae sprang from hiding to assassinate an archer, Uuera took that as her cue to bolt into action as well.

Uuera'unkara had covered herself in rock and sand; she lifted herself to her feet as the sand crumbled away from her armour. She focused her mana to gather some of the warm gentle breeze coming from across the ocean and threw a hand full of rocks in the direction of the scuffle. Each rock was picked up by Uuera's mana and blown toward the enemy elves with enough force to cause lacerations.

While they would be busy with the barrage of rocks, Uuera readied her axe and begans pulling the wind around the head. The breeze was not strong enough for her axe to cleave the beings in two, but it was enough to increase the danger of her swings.

Vithar looked back at the endless ocean behind them and the sharks that currently feasted upon the corpse of the sailor floating within. The sharks were the least of their worries, however. None of the Highland Raiders present would be able to swim for long clad in heavy armor.

"To hell with the open seas. If we are to die here, it would be better to do so fighting those men rather than drowning," grunted Vithar. He'd be thrice-damned before he agreed to such an ignominious end.

"Bait and catch?" Vithar said, stroking his chin as he thought for a second. Yes...the humans would make great bait to draw out the natives. "Those of you who are armed...get out of sight. We'll be luring them out onto the beach in an ambush," he advised the sailors.

~~~
As the sailor returned with the strange men capturing and attempting to restrain him, Vithar gave a savage war cry and charged in. Vithar's two-handed war sword scattered blood as if it was water as he cut in wide arcs. One more of the unfortunate men fell to the ground, his unarmored body nearly cloven in two by the Highland Raider's sword.
