OOC - suggestion?

I would prefer a closed thread for discussions - it would be a little more open. OK, and I can't get Skype to install. *blush*

But if I ever do, I'm interested!

Closed thread seems OK, though I do worry that we cannot be open on our thoughts. If we have critique, but don't know how to put it nicely, since we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, then we'd have to resort to things like PM's, which I want to avoid.

And I'd be more than happy to help you install Skype. ^^ What's the problem?

It's very possible to critique without being nasty (though it is true that some might just take it the wrong way).

And what's the problem with Skype? On my computer(s) it simply installed itself after I downloaded it. Did it give some sort of error message?

Oh, I have no doubt. I just really want to avoid misunderstandings. ^^

And I've heard of folks who have trouble installing Skype for some reason... Are you a Mac or PC?

I'd prefer the only reviews people would have to read through to be my initial review, and the text review based on this. People can and will get upset over reviews, as my Inbox can testify to, so in the interest of keeping this as smooth as possible reviewer(s) should ask for assistance via PM or if we can get a Skype channel running, in that channel, in order to remain unbiased.

Any word on the guidelines Thalar?

I know a good number of folks are very anxious to get RPing. Sooner we get this up and running, the sooner we can get those who've been waiting so long approved.

Just for a little update; I am done with the easy parts, and I am working on the hard part of the guidelines at the moment. Just so you don't think I've dropped off the face of the Earth. :L

I had another idea while I was mulling this over before sleep last night. I was thinking that a character who gets approved (not conditionally, though) in my preliminary review would at that point become playable.. This would shorten the waiting time for those whose characters are ready to play. I can see one downside - the player might not bother to check the full review for feedback. But at the same time, how necessary is the feedback if a character got approved? In most, but not all, approved character sheets, there is very little to comment upon. So I was curious to hear what you think. Sorry for the false alarm again *upset*

:L :L :L Why Thalar? Why must you torment me so? :E

As for your question, I think that it has merits. Most of the time, approved characters really don't need a full review. Though, I think we should reserve it for folk who we all personally see really understands the universe.

Yeah, if a character is approved, then there usually isn't much wrong with it...but I'm sure with most there is at least some room for improvement.

It's not a false alarm, Thalar, it's a good idea! And I think that most of the people playing here will be happy to see "approved" and not worry about it. After all, we're an RPG, not a creative writing class! And if anyone wants further suggestions or feedback, they can request it in the classroom thread, even if they have been approved.
