Metzger wrote:there was some time ago I saw the movie, so I need to ask, was it just a subplot to add depth to the movie, or was it the villains that was family and felt the need to pork? in case of the formers, include away, in case of the later, if done right, do so anyway...these are the drow we are talking about.. incest isn't as taboo as it is among humans

I recently watched this movie actually, and the incest is not really consensual... :/ So I am not quite sure if I want it.

If it's not consensual then, remember Syphile was in a horrific "relationship" with Mel, which meant that, Mel tortured and abused (including rape) Syphile for stealing Ariel, this treatment did wonders for how Syphile choose to treat Ariel *sarcasm mode*

, if it's non-consensual incest...try to skip that plotline and replace it with something else...like a rap-battle!

Well, that first part's not canon anymore, but yeah, incest-rape is something that hits a little close to home for me, considering one of my neighbors when I was 4 was the product of that.

The Nine had gathered in a smaller council-room in the Imperial Dome, standing around a truly massive table. Each Ill’haress had brought two companions, flanking her.
On the table was a detailed map, showing even the smallest alleyway. Currently a servant was putting coloured markers all over the surface, taking the location and colour from a pile of papers at his side. The nine Val-clans had their own colours, plus brown for the minor clans and grey for commoners.
“So, all of them were under two centuries old.” Nega’fanea looked at the map, arms crossed.
“And most were males or children.” Rel’lumia added, eyes glaring ahead from behind her fan. By the time the meeting had reconvened, the death-toll had risen again.
“Attacks depended on size of aura?” Asira’malika suggested, tapping the stone edging of the table with her fingernails. “Males have smaller auras than females, on average off-course.”
“It does make sense if it is an animal.” Quain’tana nodded, looking at her son briefly. “Predators go for the weak. If it can sense the aura in some way, it would naturally go for males and children.”
“Any pattern yet?” Diva’ratrika demanded of the servant, who had a better overview than the Ill’haresses by virtue of floating above the table.
“Only sectors that seem to be spared, as of now, Val’Sharess.” He answered, returning back to finishing it at her wave.
“What about the descriptions?” Shimi’lande looked over towards Waes’soloth, whose son was currently reading through copies of the reports of survivors behind her with Kel’noz and two others.
“They are mostly in agreement, but I am not sure if the variances come by fault of the describer, Ill’haress...” Nau’boloth looked at the papers he was holding. “From these, one would be inclined to think that there are several different individuals of similar species.”
“Some reports show a more... cat-like description, while others seem wolfish or even draconian.” Kel’noz elaborated. “Though they all seem to agree on the... creatures having unusual high amounts of eyes and legs, armour-like skin and joints where they should not be. Behaviour-wise they also all describe ambushes.”
“Is it possible to reconstruct the looks?” Waes’soloth questioned her son.
“If you do not mind that there are at least three versions, yes, I think we could get a general description from this.” Nau’boloth looked at the other three, who nodded in agreement. “Given a couple of cycles...”
Ash’waren counted on her fingers. “Recapping: we have at least three creatures each of whom attacks from ambushes, but with no clear pattern of attack yet aside from currently empty districts?”
“There is something that worries me though.” Sannindi’ligr spoke up, gesturing towards the map. “I can get commoners falling prey to this – let me finish, Quain’tana – but certainly Val and people from minor clans should have had the schooling necessary to protect themselves. Yet 54 of our clan-members actually died and even more were injured... How? One creature should not pose such a problem to a trained warrior.”
“That... is quite worrisome.” Ash’waren agreed, several of the others merely nodding.
“The armour-like skin would make it hard for weapons to penetrate.” Quain’tana mused, tapping her chin with her finger. “Unless you hit a weak spot, the sword is just going to bounce off with hardly a scratch left. Any particulars on what kind of armour?”
“Most seems to equate it to chitin.” Kel’noz answered his mother. “Kirisu’s and spiders are mentioned quite some time in comparison.”
“Hell to get through.” The tall Drowolath nodded briefly, in agreement with herself. “And most people don’t run around with war-hammers or maces, which might have a bit more effect on hurting something like that.”
“Is chitin also resistant against the arts?” Rel’lumia looked at Waes’soloth, who probably knew best about the combat-effectiveness of spiders and the like.
“Harder to get through, like all armour.” The black-clad woman shook her head. “Though not to the extent of making them un-killable by such means.”
“Several of the dead were Mana-specialists.” Zala’ess spoke up. “My daughter included. Yet she died...”
“We’ll have to figure out what that means.” Diva’ratrika darkly stated. “If those things are actually immune to mana-arts...”
“Preposterous.” Shimi’lande countered. “Only demons could achieve something like that.”
“There are nether-cults in the city.” Nega’fanea reminded her.
“None of those would be helped with this slaughter either.” Waes’soloth said emotionlessly. “They too have suffered losses already. I’d imagine that if someone is controlling this, they’d make sure their own are not harmed.”
“Could we not try to trap one of those things?” Snadhya’rune suggested from where she was standing beside her mother. “Surely when we can actually see it, we would get much further than with all this speculation?”
“Well, good luck catching anything in this city, Sharen.” Quain’tana snorted in disdain. “There are several levels, with hundreds of streets on each. You couldn’t find Zala’ess’ cunt in here, much less creatures who do all in their power to stealth around.”
“Quain.” Diva’ratrika sharply admonished the other, eyes narrowing dangerously. “Do not insult my children in my presence.”
“Peace.” The two-tinted eyes of Ash’waren were glowing a vivid white as she reached for everyone in the room with her empathy. “Dissent will just ruin us now. Keep your grievances until after we have secured Chel from this...”
For a while, only the sounds of the men writing and the markers being set down was heard.
“What sectors are spared for now?” Nega’fanea looked up at the servant.
“The Beldrobbaen-fortress-district and Sullisin’rune dome, the areas around the Imperial Dome and Orthorbbae.” He answered, floating up a bit higher for a better view. “Most of the upper levels of the rest, as well as busy parts of the lower ones.”
“Places they can sneak around and which are easy to reach, without much guards patrolling.” Sannindi summarized, glancing over at Shimi’lande. “Does make me wonder how they managed to get into the Kyorl’solenurn-lands with their double-wall...”

“Thank you for being my alibi again.” Mel’arnach briefly squeezed the male that was walking beside her.
“Am I not always?” Kel’noz rolled his eyes, chuckling a little. “I swear, at this rate you will owe me your liver or something.”
His sister pouted lightly. “You always make it sound like I force you to.”
“You threatened it the first few times.” He chuckled some more. “At this rate, mother will think I’ll be okay with being femalefied because I shop so much.”
Now she rolled her eyes, checking her outfit quickly. “She’s still drooling over Laele’aell. I think you are safe.”
He wanted to retort, but decided to keep silent instead. That Snadhya’rune had become somewhat friends with her mother, did not mean that Mel was in any hurry to try that out herself.
“Snadhya!” Mel waved into the distance. Coming up the street was someone in a long brown cape, a few strands of purple hair having fallen free and now bouncing with every step.
“Mel.” Diva’ratrika’s eldest daughter pulled down the mask, smiling gently. “Sorry if I am late, Mother was not that keen to let me go to Waes’soloth’s alone.”
“I guess that’s my hint.” Kel’noz pointed at the far-away Beldrobbaen step-up to the high-way. “Four hours, sister.”
Mel grinned at him, patting his shoulder. “You sure you can entertain yourself that long?”
“I’ll just go boink Snadhya’s mother if I get bored.” He stuck out his tongue, before marching down the street before someone could think up a retort.
“I don’t think your brother likes me.” The Sharen muttered, watching as he stopped to look at some merchandise in one of the few shops in the district.
“You know he is.” Mel hooked her arm around the one of her lover. “Now come on. We only have four hours.”
He watched them disappear into some back-alley, smiling somewhat indulgently. Then he turned to the display again, picking a small something and buying it in case Quain’tana would ask how the shopping had been. While wondering at the prices the Beldrobbaen-merchants demanded, he also disappeared down a side-street. Half-way in, there was a stairwell up to the second floor.
“I’m here.” He knocked on the doorframe, slipping inside.
“Alibi’d again?” The woman who was renting the apartment looked at him with amusement.
“Mhhmm...” He looked around the house. “Time for continuing that game of chess?”

“I do feel a bit guilty though.” Mel whispered, trailing her lips over the neck of the woman she was currently pressing against the wall.
“He wouldn’t be your alibi every week orso if he minded.” The woman she was pressing against the wall was attempting to get her off. “And do we really need to do it here? Who knows who’d walk in on us?”
“We’re at the Beldrobbaen.” Mel nipped at her jaw-line, pulling lightly at the cape wrapped around her shoulders. “Who tries back-alleys here?”
“Uh... people who want to use short-cuts?” Snadhya gasped lightly when her cape fell to the ground. She could bet money on it that the chance of being caught actually heightened her lover’s desire.
“You brought your summoning-gauntlets?” The Sarghress murmured, hands trailing down naked arms until they encountered cool stones. She looked at them, before looking up at the Sharen.
“My mother insisted.” The purple-haired Sharen pulled them from her arms. “Because of that Beast.”
“You think it’s that dangerous?” Quain’tana’s daughter took one of them in her hands, feeling its’ texture.
“Nearly five dozen Val-clan-members are dead.” Diva’ratrika’s daughter rearranged her collar. “I would be foolish to discard its’ danger this easily.”
“So you’ll protect me?” Mel cuddled close, smiling at the other female.
“Hehe, why wouldn’t I?” The Sharen proudly lifted her head, before pressing a kiss on the Sarghress’ lips. “That’s why I brought that dragon-summon you like so much.”
“Heh.” Mel grinned, returning the kiss gladly. “I’m surprised your mother did not insist on half an army.”
“She almost did.” The older female chuckled. “What about Quain?”
“Pheh.” She was surprised at the dark expression that appeared on the other female’s face. “Like she’d care about what happens to me. She has perfect little obedient Laele.”
“Maybe it’d help if you talked to her?” Snadhya suggested.
“Don’t you start as well.” Mel frowned, moving out of the embrace. “It’s bad enough Kel’noz and Laele are always insisting.”
“But it could really help.” She put her summoning gauntlets. “It did with me and Diva.”
“I don’t want anything to do with her.” The brown-clad female snarled lightly, marching away.
“Wait.” Snadhya pulled up her cape, half-running after Mel. When she was at her side, she grabbed her arm to stop her from walking down the road even further. “Don’t misunderstand me here.”
“What is there to misunderstand?” Suddenly she was grasping at shadows, Mel taking form a short distance away.
“Mel, please.” She followed her blindly, pulling up her skirt with one hand while clutching the cape with the other. It would probably be very unseemly if someone saw her like this, but she cared little for that now. She thanked her great-aunt when Mel took a corner into a dead-end. “Mel!”
Disturbed by the sounds, something stirred in the far end of the alley both had just left.
