This is a Drowtales x Fallout NV Crossover
That’s Right, ever since Shady'runes said something like "Remind yourself that they destroyed the World twice above, Twice", well my brain just capitalised on that moment and i thought about Fallout and Drowtales.

The Courier, through means unknown arrives in the Drowtales Universe instead of going to Big Mt
And that is the Premise of my Story

Chapter 1

The Courier awoke in unfamiliar Territory; he saw what appeared to be multiple moons coursing through the sky ever so slowly, he then craned his head down to see what looked to be an endless desert spanning every direction. The Courier then noticed that his leather backpack was covered in sand. His Winchester City Killer, the Combat shotgun known and feared by Pre-war soldiers for its Rugged features, its 12 12Ga round Bullpup magazine feature and its awe-inspiring capability in urban combat and close to medium range combat, its accuracy and lack of recoil, its auto-loading feature fired one shotgun shell per trigger pull which enabled soldiers to fire accurate single shell fire or supporting bursts of shells could be delivered down range, it was feared by the Chinese During the Alaska Invasion until the New T-45d and the T-51b suits of Power Armour and the New Laser gatling guns and the Fatman Tactical Nuclear Catapult were introduce years later, was set about two metres from his side

‘Where am I?’ thought the courier who banged on his helmet to ensure that he was not in a dream, he realised that he was not and so he began to look around from his prone position.

The courier then began to push himself off the sandy floor and righted himself, he then looked around the area with more precision, searching every nook and cranny for enemies or other such things, when he was certain that there was nothing awaiting him, he then detached the Oxygen hoses attached at the back of his helmet, he then turned off the magnetic seal attached on the back of his Power armour, then pried the helmet from his face

“Agghh” exclaimed the Courier as he took a breath of fresh air, it was an improvement over the slightly metallic tint of his Power Armour suit’s Rebreather

The Courier then quickly unslung the gigantic Leather bag that hung around the back of the Couriers Power Armour, he then began to brush off the sand that began to gather on the rough edges and sides of the bag, he then did a quick items check
His camp supplies and bedding where all there, assembled cans of pre-war goods were still in fine condition; his fire starter kit was still in mint condition, His collection of assorted shotgun magazines for His Winchester City Killer were there in mint condition, each one filled with either standard 12Ga shotgun shells or 12Ga flechette. The Courier hated scanning out new weapons with his Pipboy 3000 on his wrist as it left him open to attacks, Thus the Courier decided to always carry his first and most prized possession with him at every opportune moment when he left the ‘civilised areas’ of New Vegas and out into the Wastes.

The Courier than reached out his Winchester City Killer and unloaded the magazine and cleared the breech, he than examined the barrel, then knocked it against his knee to remove any excess sand that could have gotten clogged in the gun or the stainless steel stock. There was no sand at all

The Courier then replaced the 12 round magazine back into his Bull-pup City Killer shotgun and then he re-examined every fine detail, the Stainless steel stock, the nicks and scratches gained over its many… many usages over the years in the harsh and Perilous Mohave desert, from the harsh Californian expanse, to the beaches of San Francisco and its relatively large Asian population, to the perilous rocky desert land of New Vegas, The Courier had seen it all from his journeys, both as a tribal, and as a Courier. He had experienced the large and heartless government of the NCR, and the Slaver Empire under the mantle of the Romans, the so called ‘Legion’, and he disliked them both, those who used the ‘guiding’ influences of past civilisations to subdue and conquer vast territories in their name. The Courier ended their civilisations in but a touch of a finger during the Lonesome road, he had shot Ulysses dead and pressed the Button which launched multiple nuclear payloads on the respective lands of the NCR and the Legion.

With the Aid of the citizens of New Vegas and Free side, with the Help of the boomers, The Great khans, the Enclave Remnants and the Brotherhood of steel, he lead the many fine men and women to freedom from the so called civilised Nations and set them free. Every step of his journey, the courier had his trusty shotgun by his side, ever since his Father bequeathed it to him as he lay dying out in the wastes of California, three days and two nights north of the Great boneyards of Adysium, the fabled city of Fallen angels.

The Courier then stopped reminiscing and began to quickly restock his back pack and re-holstered his Winchester City Killer to his back on the right side of his back pack for easier access.

For now the Courier had to find a place to set up camp and rest, although it would be hard to see in the dark and his Power armour Helmet’s night vision would be good for detecting sources of light in the desert wasteland, however the difficulty lay in finding land marks or other such reference points that would help the Courier find his way if he was ever to be lost, then he would be able to find his way back. No, it would be better to navigate this desert by day, then to lose his way and get lost in this desert.

The Courier then replaced the Helmet on his face and reset the Magnetised plate locking the helmet in place; he then reattached the oxygen hose to the back of his helmet. His helmet was now attached and he could now set about the task of finding a camp site, thus the Courier switched to Night Vision mode as tones of green now flooded the Couriers vision.

What did the Courier see?

A continuous plain of Desert stretched around for many miles, fortunately in the great distance there was what seemed to be a light emitting source, possibly a campfire or light bulb, it was to the east, or what the Pipboy said was east as the Courier had no idea if the multiple moons overhead would affect ‘this’ worlds magnetism to such lengths as to render his compass inoperable. For safe measure the Courier than swiped his Pipboy across the sand to check the Background Radiation, it was even lower in count than most areas in the Mojave Desert.

The Courier was surprised by the readings

‘I must either be in a different universe, or I was sent back in time, or I am dreaming’ thought the Courier
Quickly turning away from his thoughts, the Courier quickly decided to visit the source of the light and see if there was a native population nearby. The Courier then began to walk at a steady pace but quickly turned his head from side to side and listened to his surroundings every fifty to one hundred metres or so.

I think I am going to keep my Fanfics to 1000 words per post, so that it will be quicker to see people’s input and not bore potential readers…

So what did you think?

What should I name the Courier?

This is what my Couriers Power Armour Looks like, that's right its a pair of Advanced Power Armour, made by your friendly Neighborhood Enclave

Image

And this is what the Winchester City Killer Looks like, if only it was a real gun

Chapter 2

The Courier was barely sixty metres away from the Campsite, He sat behind a small boulder fiddling with his Pipboy 3000, he then went to his Ammunition list and selected twenty shells of Dragons breath round (don't know what that is, check it up }:3 ), he then tapped the button and twenty shotgun shells Teleported out of thin air.

He then scooped them up and unloaded his current Shotgun's magazine and manually loaded up the other Magazine's stored in his backpack, so that eventually all five of his Magazines were loaded in such a way that one of every four shots was a Dragons breath shell to three Normal 12Ga Shotgun shells.

All in all that took him about four minutes, but The Courier had decided that it was better being safe than sorry when it came to contacting the Unknowns not to far away.

It had taken the Courier seven hours to reach this point, heading east towards the Camp site. The Courier knew that it would be impossible for him to return from his point of origin, fortunately the Sun was just now about to arise, unfortunately for him though, the inhabitant's from the Campsite where alerted to his presence by the smells coming upwind, and they pounced on the opportunity for prey

RROOAARR!!

The Courier heard that sound behind him and he quickly loaded up his shotgun, to him it now seemed that the Diplomatic idea had failed, now it was time for the voice of his gun to speak words of death

He quickly rose to his legs and peered over the boulder to see what opponent's he would be facing.

What Opponent was he facing?

large, feline animals about 2-2.25 metres tall, and there were about eight of them, each one armed with what seemed to be spears fashioned from stone or broken bits of fashioned metal shards, lashed to a wooden stave about two metres tall, they prepared them, either for throwing or for thrusting, either way the Courier did not care, he knew how to deal with large, Sentient animals about twice their size with claws the size of machetes, this would be a field day compared to those monsters

The Courier quickly crouched low and prepared to ready out his firing line over the cover of the boulder, he would fire when they reached within twenty to twenty-five metres of his firing zone

It took less than eight seconds before the First creature had crossed his zone, The Courier took aim and fired his shotgun twice, aiming for the center mass of his target, the first shot sent eight lead balls flying through the air until three hit the target, the Shot had severely damaged his target but it was the second shot that killed her, when five balls penetrated through its body, one of them tumbling through and hitting the spinal column, and it fell down dead.

The Other creatures where shocked by the deadly firepower of their foe but they continued to charge head long.

This time two of the creatures entered the Killing zone, they were trying to flank him from the sides, that wouldn't work, not against someone with such experience as The Courier, He then lined up his sights to the one on the right and fired one shot, hitting it center mass and delivering a fatal blow which killed it outright, he then quickly switched to the one on the left and fired his shotgun once, and instead of the usual eight lead balls fired from a Normal shogun shell, a plume of highly flammable Magnesium pellets and even smaller pellets of White phosphorous and Thermite where sent out directly into the fur and flesh of the other creature, setting it aflame and it halted its charge and ran away, burning quickly before it died in massive roaring flames

The five remaining creatures decided to Attack head on, with three of them trying to flank him from the side's.

The Courier stood up and fired a burst of three shots into the two creatures who charged him head on, he then turned to the lone one on the right and fired twice, unfortunately he missed both shots by a very small margin of error, he then paused and decided to let his enemies come closer.

When the one on the right was within ten metres he fired again, hitting the creature center mass and killing it outright.

He then turned around to face the Two creatures who decided to attack him from the left flank, and fired his last shotgun shell into the biggest creature center mass, this one being set aflame by the familiar plume of Flammable metals and chemicals, singing the creature until it died.

The courier was now out of bullets in his Magazine, The Courier grimaced at the fact that he had wasted two of his shots, but quickly prepared his Winchester City Killer for close quarters combat, he held the solid metal frame and prepared himself.

The Creature thrust its spear toward The Courier, who quickly dodged the attack and prepared to strike the creature with the Steel Butt-stock of the City Killer, using gravity and momentum, it struck with a great amount of force, it barely even stunned the creature.

The Courier then used the ranger spinning-kick he learned from the Ranger in Novac to floor his opponent while he quickly fiddled with his Pipboy 3000 and scanned out a Super-sledge. he then held the super-sledge up as his opponent had quickly recovered.

The Creature quickly hurled it's spear at the Courier, but it did nothing to the Power Armour's ceramic plating based on tank Armour.

The Courier took the Opportunity to strike and hurled a huge strike forth on his target's chest, which promptly caved in the rib-cage and crushed the heart of his opponent.

Drowtale x Fallout NV

No reviews yet, I shall take this as a good sign

Also, I was originally going to have The Courier being unable to understand drow language, now that would be awesome if I wanted this story to be realistic, but the Language barrier would have screwed up my story massively.

My theory on how the Courier can understand and speak drow?

The Aliens implanted a device in his head…, I don’t know, I leave you, the reader to come up with an idea or a solution as to why the Courier can Understand Drowish

Chapter 3:

The Courier had continued on an eastward journey for nearly a week, his food had run out a day ago and he was now a day away before he would consume all his water. Thankfully the rumblings that came from his stomach distracted him from his lingering thoughts of death or starvation.

Only two days ago had the Courier left the Desert, and watched as it had slowly been replaced by rocky land and fog, as large voluminous swathes of fog that covered the land. The Fog skewed the blue sky to a misty green-grey colour, similar to irradiated land of the Divide, or searchlight.

The Courier could barely see ten to twenty metres in the Thick fog, but the technological innovation brought During the Pre-war, Night Vision and Thermal Vision and Infrared Vision that were inbuilt in the Power Armour where a god send, allowing the Courier to atleast navigate his way through and find plausible landmarks or places of more level ground that was easier to traverse.

Every ten minutes or so, the Courier would stop his walk and would check through every type of Ocular Goggles. He repeated this action thirty or so times before he actually caught sight of something in the distance.

He stopped walking for his thirty-sixth or thirty-seventh time and viewed through the Fog in his Night Vision goggles and saw nothing. On the second sweep he switched to his Thermal Vision goggles, this time though, he received faint heat signatures about one kilometre away, three yellowish signatures moving in a line about ten to fifteen metres apart, The Courier knew this would be a caravan, but was it a military caravan or a trading caravan?

The Courier quickly weighed his options, and he decided that it would be better to make contact with these strangers than die of Dehydration or starvation, thus the Courier quickly set up a rapid pace, eager to meet these strangers.

He met them, eight minutes later; the courier quickly jumped out of the fog and next to the caravan. The Caravan guards quickly took notice and the small group quickly grabbed knives, swords, spears or cudgels, and a few held out rather sturdy looking crossbows to the Courier, their steel tipped bolts strained taught ready to be fired.

The Courier, his gun already raised and ready to fire, slowly tilted his City Killer up vertically and held out his left hand, the universal figure for wait or halt, and apparently these figures knew the signal as well and they halted as well, however their hands remained strained on their selected weapons, or their crossbows where lowered but still ready to fire at a moment’s notice

The Courier quickly took the time to investigate the figures as he quietly switched his Vision to normal, and the heat signatures vanished in a flash, replaced by fog and darkness.

From what The Courier could see, the convoy was made up of seven or eight large reptilian creatures, their backs covered in various trade goods such as apples, furs and freshly logged wood.
The People that crewed the backs or walked on the sides of the Reptiles were strange as well, most stood at six and a half to seven feet tall, their skin was black and their ears where large and sharply pointed, similar to the Elves seen in issues of tales of Chivalry.

But amongst the ‘elves’ stood what seemed to be a regular human, short at about five foot five, roughly five inches shorter than the Courier, he had white hair and appeared to be about twenty eight- to thirty four years old

The Courier then held out his left hand to the back of his Helmet and unlatched the Oxygen hose; he then turned off a nearby power slide to turn off the Magnetic slide that attached the Helmet to the suit.

The Courier then placed his City killer in its side holster whilst he used both his hands to pry his Power Helmet from his head, he then removed his right hand and swathed it through his reddish hair to remove any stray bits and pieces of dessert sand and perspiration, both from his own sweat and from the Fog.

The Courier then felt self-conscious when he realised that he was gaining the attention of the ‘elves’, most gawked at what they saw.

Drow POV

What did the Drow see?

They observed as the figure held out his head defiantly to the crowd, as if he were showing his facial scars with pride. The left half of his face had been burned whilst the right side of his face had a healed over hole mark just above his right brow, and his right eye was different from his left eye in that it was made of metal and featured a red iris, not too dissimilar from the Ver'drowendar, the Tainted.

Dhal’zin, The Leading Trader for the Stone Company studied the ‘Hermionne’ carefully, she had deduced that the figure before her was a Hermionne by his height and by his red hair, she had seen one once but had never seen one close up before.

Dhal also took notice of the figures armour, It looked just as advanced as a suit of Balvhakara power armor, especially on the helmet, as she observed the glowing yellow eye slits present on the armour, The design of the Armour had a menacing look and feel to it, it was big, bulky and imposing but the armour plates where shaped and angled to provide additional protection.

Whoever this Hermionne was, he obviously had stolen it or scavenged it from an old ruin

Before Dhal could continue her thoughts though, she was interrupted when the Figure before her pointed out a thumb to his chest and spoke in perfect Chellian, surprising the many Drow Escorts.

“Courier Six”

The Drow where surprised, what the hell was a ‘Hermionne’ doing as a Courier, Dhal took the initiative and spoke up in a rather amused tone of which she was known for

“I am Dhal'zin Illhar'dro, of Clan Illhar’dro, Why is a Hermionne speaking in perfect Chellian?”

The figure scratched his head for a second then spoke

“Chellian? I am speaking English, What the hell is a Hermionne? is that some kind of creature?”

Dhal and the rest of the Drow laughed for a moment before Dhal spoke up

“No, A Hermionne is like a Halme, only larger and with red hair, like you”

This ‘Courier six’ then again scratched his head as he thought up a question, he then spoke again

“I am not a Hermionne, I am a human, I come from the Mojave Wasteland, if you will allow me to prove it to you”

This ‘Courier’ then reached for his strange crossbow like weapon again and aimed it up into the sky
The Drow where put on edge again but the Courier just continued to hold it up, he then turned his head and spoke

“Allow me to prove to you that I am different”

he then held down the Trigger as they watched the ‘human’ fire the gun once, The Drow were impressed that he had a gun, as they thought that only the Dvergar had that technology, but they were hardly convinced that this being was special, or rather they thought this until without pausing, nor the visible action of reloading, the Human fired off another round, he then fired off two bursts in quick succession without pause for reloading

He then turned his head back to the crowd and grinned, and then he spoke up

“So, where are you headed?”

Dhal rather enjoyed the Cockiness of the human, so much so that Dhal just smiled and turned to face Kai, the Halme trader from the Stone Company, and Fen’s grandson

“Kai, ready your Tik for another passenger, this Courier will be staying with us as a guard”

Dhal then turned her head to face the Courier

“Chel, we are headed for Chel, that’s if you can handle a Civil war and crowds of rowdy rioter’s”

The Courier nodded his head then spoke “I have killed hordes of fiends, I have blown the heads off of many a Deathclaw and I was the sole leader of New Vegas for a year, and if anything I can handle a few rioters!”

The Courier then readied his Back pack, he was then lead by the short Halme he had heard was called Kai. Eventually the Courier mounted a huge reptilian creature apparently called a Tik, and he was ready to leave

To be Continued

This story, as well as my Norman and Viking fanfics will all be on an indefinite hiatus, unfortunately.

Fear not, though, for if i ever get around to it, i will probably be dropping down several large chapters once every half-a-year or so.

Unfortunately, i also happen to be a pretty lazy writer. :c

Ah hell, here's an update!

The Darkest Night.

A Drowtales x Fallout NV crossover.

Chapter 4.

Courier six could not help but feel nauseous after being on such a large, unsteady beast, a Tik, or so the ‘natives’, the Chellians called them. It had been a day now, but even in all that time, he had barely gotten used to riding such a large beast.

The Courier had changed his attire, necessary due to the fact that the weight of his power-armour would have greatly exceeded what the Tik’s could carry. For now, he was wearing his leather duster-coat with a ballistic torso plate held underneath it. On his face was a gas mask, where it’s main purpose was to cover up his facial scars. He was very glad that the Pip-boy was capable of storing his power-armour.

The gazes afforded in his direction by the elves were, in a way… off-putting. He could tell that there was some unspoken issue going on behind the scene, but whatever it was, Courier six knew that he would have to face it at some point. If he had to put a gun in someone’s face to get his point across, so be it.

Kai, the little man of the group and one of the only humans, noticed their gazes and spoke quietly, so that none other than the Courier would hear what he was saying.

“Don’t be bothered with them, they just don’t know you… i don’t know you either, but… well, it takes some getting used to, being with Drow, but that’s all.”

Courier six simply nodded his head, then shrugged.

Kai spoke up, curious for a moment. “This may sound bad, but… uh… how did you get that scar on your face?”

Courier six sighed, then after a moment, spoke.

“The hole there… a bullet hole, given to me by a man called Benny. He is dead.”

“What is a bullet?”

Courier six took the effort to phrase his answer in a way in which Kai might properly understand him.

“A small projectile, shaped in a certain way and often made of lead. Like a sling, you send them flying out… except with a device called a gun, you can send them out at a much, much faster speed.”

Courier six stopped for a moment, bringing back the memory of the next event.

“Now, to the burn mark on my cheek. There was a man, a vicious, cruel psychopath… tattoos across his face, a scar on his right brow, his name was cook-cook. I took a blast of fire to the side of my face, though i managed to get out of the way before he could shift his aim with the flamer. In turn, i put several forty-four magnums in his chest. He wasn’t a pretty sight, but after… well, i think i made a vast improvement.”

Kai visibly shuddered for a moment, and then offered an apologetic remark.

“Wow… i don’t know what to say.”

Courier six spoke again. “There is nothing that can be said that will make it better. It all happened, the burn, the bullet to the head, and i live with it… it makes me… me.”

Courier six felt more than a little asphyxiated at remembering his dreadful ordeal, it wasn’t something that he liked to remember, and he tried his best to repress that memory, to shelve it back beneath the box of other horrendous memories stored up in his lifetime.

“We are a day off from Saosh. Remember, no bad business when we get there, that goes to you too Kai. Now, let’s call it a day and set up camp.”

With Dhal’zin’s announcement, everybody halted their tik’s, before then unravelling small textile bundles and setting up a makeshift camp.

Everybody but the Courier had their own tents, so he had nothing to do but watch as the others began hitching up their tents.

Dhal’zin arrived from behind with a small cloth object held in her hand, she was trying to catch the Courier off-guard, trying to test him… it did not work.

“Are you hungry? We have rations though i am afraid that they are not that good though.”

Courier six nodded his head. “I can eat almost anything.”

“Catch.” Dhal’zin threw the cloth bag towards the Courier, who caught it in the palm of his hand.

The Courier found a level spot that was free of rocks before he sat down on the floor. He unravelled the cloth parcel and found a few chunks of well-salted meat. The courier then removed his gasmask and leveled it down to one side.

The Courier took one bite out of his ration, and he could notice the taste almost immediately… it was very similar to pork, but it had a slight tinge to it that meant one thing… it was made from a human being. The Courier had eaten human corpses before, he did not relish doing so, but sometimes it was a necessary evil that had to be done in order to survive in the wastes.

Kai approached, and like the Courier, sat down to eat his meal.

“You know, i heard that some of these are made from Halmes…”

Kai had thought it was some cruel joke that one of the Drow had told him, but didn’t believe that it was true. The Courier offered a faint grin, then told him the truth.

“If it tastes like pork but has a slight tinge to it… you’re eating people. I would know.”

Kai spat out his meal all over the floor, gathering the attention of the rest of the trading caravan.

One of them spoke aloud. “I think he found out what the rations are made of.”

Great update! Though I would like to ask whether you are going to include stuff from other Fallout Games, Like fallout 4 in particular specifically because there are teleporters in that game and that is the perfect excuse to bring stuff over.

Unfortunately not. I don't think i will add in any of the cool teleporter stuff, if only because it might make the Courier too overpowered (Well, he's in a suit of freakin power armour and what not, but still).
