I've thought about colors, I'm still sorta wondering of them. Kiel would be very orange, Naal would be a dark grey with black hair, Shinae would have white or very light lavender hair and be slightly darker violet than her coat, and with Kyo'nne I figure a lighter, cream color with blues and silvers in her mane. Chrys I'm still struggling with... Teal is in there though. I guess silvery hair with teal body? Hmm.

Yeah, I think I will, but that sort of color scheme seem ok with her?

I'd go with a black crystal and silver neck chain. I dont think we've seen too much gold on Chrys. And maybe black and silver hair bands? We're all so used to seeing Chrys in red its really hard to remember she ought to be wearing Sharen teal. So I dunno, I'd use black where ever feasible.

Yeah, I was thinking that as I colored it gold. Darker gem and silver it is then. I'll try to tint her a much darker teal too.

As for Kyo'nne, I planned a much more bluer mane and tail, but at this tone they'd look like I palette swapped them, so I do agree she does have something more Kyo'nne toned. My attention span being as low as it is will make this slow. :(

Next attempt! Darkened up Chrys some and changed that necklace as suggested. I think I'll still be altering Shinae's colors darker, I'm still getting a bearing on a good color scheme for her (might add a more bluer touch, especially for her cloak since I seemed to miss her in-comic color for it entirely!). Kyo'nne's cutie mark might get a slight re-color but I don't plan on messing with her much more beyond some cleanup of curves and lines. Also plan on cleaning up all their lines, so Shinae's leg there shouldn't look so weird when I'm done.

Did I mention I lack patience for vector?

Ah yeah Chrys looks perfect now. About Shin, maybe a bit more towards the grey end of lavender if that makes any sense at all XD

Yeah, I know what you mean with the grey. I haven't forgotten about this, been busy though. Next break I think I'll work on it more.

In the meantime, playing with copics:

I have a way to go with them, and I need more colors!

I like it(if Ariel gets any cuter Mel might huggle her to death-if she manages to beat Faen to it), though I can see alot of bleeding -I've never used copics but Ive read you have to use super smooth paper to stop that.

I also had some issues staying in the lines :( Paper I was using was some random drawing paper that is a bit better for pencils. I have card stock I plan on upgrading to once I figure out what I'm doing. :B

You might want to try using quasi-heavy copy paper(25-30lb) on top of a drawing paper backing? Its nearly grainless, and cheep as all kinds of hell(maybe 7 bucks for a 500 sheets) and it might be better for mastering technique on a smooth surface. -Its only a wild guess though, based off some minimal experience with non-water proof inks -youve got to tape it down to the drawing paper though (with the ink anyway) so it doesnt ripple(as much) as it gets wet.
