I'm sorry, but remind me again: what is Star Trek?

Oh, and who would be the Borg?

Star Trek is a popular Sci-Fi franchise, but beyond that, I have no idea. I think the Borg is one of the races in that show but I'm not sure.

It was an uncommon but notable threat in Next Generation, and the first movie for that particular series, but became more common and less individually threatening during Voyager, I think. Maybe Black Sun would fit them best? There's no real good counterpart I can think of.

I should clarify:

The Borg are demons because they share the same theme of "assimilate or die", including changing physical characteristics and mental processes of the victim. Intelligent demons fit the bill even more because they can recall their origins before possessing an individual. Drow are infected by demons, humans are "infected" by Borg, and there is no way to completely remove Borg influence--even Seven of Nine had to deal with lifelong issues associated with it. The only thing missing is the "Collective" part of the Borg.
