The Soviet March is definatly for Sarghress.

This one would be more Sharen.(Hell March is the Name: Main Theme of the RA3)

Or you could probably switch em. I personally like Soviet March better.

Alright, I listened to it again and it does sound like the translation on the RA3 website sounds correct. When I first listened to it outside the game I thought I heard "Evropy (Europe)" in the second verse...

Just remembered some other songs that reminds me of the Sarghress/Romans: Rome Total War theme and Rome Total War: Forever (credits).

Well when I first read all drowtales chapters available to me I listened to Villancicos y Danzas Criollas which is renaissance music of Spain and the new world. So every time since then, I listen to this CD I think of drowtales. ;)

Well for battle scenes the renaissance music is a bit too slow and beautiful but I think some tracks of Manowar are there quite fitting for the fight in the prologue for example, like this, this, or this song.

Yes, Rome is a great game with great music. Also the successor game Medieval II also has great music such as this.

I already stated that Manowar fits the Sarghress like an armored gauntlet :D I haven't gotten around to playing Medieval II yet (one of my brothers stole it). Speaking of Teutonic Knights...if anyone else here has seen Aleksandr Nevskij, don't you think that the Kyorl Templars look very much like the Teutonic Knights as portrayed in the film?

And the famous "Battle on the Ice" theme.

jrhindo:
That song (thanks for finding the name of it BTW) sounds very similar to "Regarding Sawyer" from the World In Conflict soundtrack:

Yes it is similar but it has a creepy feeling to it that goes better with DT than Regarding Sawyer.

The movie looks great and was unknown to me, but I think that movie itself was not so historic. This movie was made in soviet Russia and had messages for the viewers for the then present time. Quoting wikipedia:

wikipedia wrote:Alexander Nevsky was made during the Stalinist era, when the Soviet Union was at odds with Nazi Germany. Stalin directly requested that Eisenstein make a film that would warn the Soviet people of German aggression. The film contains many elements of political allegory that reflect the political situation of the 1930s. The helmets worn by the Teutonic soldiers resemble larger versions of German soldier helmets from the 20th century, while "in the first draft of the Alexander Nevsky script, swastikas even appeared in the invaders' helmets". The film portrays Alexander as a folk hero and shows him making peace with the Mongols, his old enemies, in order to face the Teutonic Knights.

That said, I find that the black / white color of the Teutonic knights mirrors the Kyorl armor design. The Teutonic Order was a religious crusader order too. ^^
To me the armor design of the Kyors are reminding me of a not so brutal version of the Uruk-hai armor in the Lord of the rings movie, The two towers, which might had inspirations from medieval armors also - maybe even armor from the Holy Roman Empire. ^^

This is an interesting movie I found about how the director used pictures and sound to create tension in this movie scene, surly revolutionary for that time.

Oh, and because I should not entirely wander off-topic, I also like the battle themes "Darker skies ahead" and "New Arc Ascending" from medieval 2 – kingdoms. ^^;

I was aware of the historic background behind both the events portrayed in the movie and the making of the film itself. Typical for Communist agitprop, the (anti-German/Western in this case) message is very obvious!

I think this song fits the Sullusin'rune pretty well!

A while back I stated that the theme to Conan the Barbarian should be the Val'Sarghress theme; Anvil of Crom; quite suitable
Basil Poledouris was a god among men when it came to composing music...
Riddle of Steel & Riders of Doom
From one of the more powerful scenes in the movie, Gift of Fury
One of my personal favorites
Battle of the Mounds

Another theme for the Highland Raiders or the Sarghress in general
Another song that's damn appropriate for everyone's favorite drow barbarian overlords
