Hello... was doing a google search for drow images and came across this site. It seems neat, not standard D&D stuff, and I'm a sucker for unique settings.

See you around.

Salutations to one and all! It's good to (finally!) be here.

I have to admit that I'm a little miffed over it taking fully a week after registering just to be able to post, but it's nothing to get too wound up over - no harm done in the end. Now that all of the paperwork has been squared away I'm looking forward to plunging myself into the Drowtales community with gusto.

I first encountered Drowtales last year, when it was advertised on the Rob and Elliot webcomic. Back then I contented myself with a quick rifle through the archives and subsequently lost interest once the campaign on R&E ended - I spend enough hours checking for updates on the vast number of webcomics that I do read as it is! Since rediscovering Drowtales through the recent advertisements on Starslip Crisis, though, I've decided to take up spelunking as a serious hobby; registering for a Path to Power account as well as planning on joining the Visual Roleplay once a space becomes free.

I find Drowtales quite an interesting beast. The business model is novel, and I quite admire the contrstruction of an original fantasy world with its own particular culture - and the art's lovely too! :)

With regards to the issues of the remakes that came up on this thread a couple of pages ago - I have to say that I wholly approve of them, and they only enhance my enjoyment of the comic. It shows Kern's commitment to the integrity of the comic to invest such effort in them, and frankly it's plain to see that four years of practice and an expanded team have produced a superior product over the slightly scrappy earlier versions: you only have to compare pages like this to this to see the palpable benefits of the new editions. I hope that Kern doesn't rush through these remakes and lets them roll out as a natural story would, because they genuinely are of a superior quality. I have read through the entire archive, but I look forward to seeing the new spin on events - it's still fresh.

I hope the Drowtales staff keeps up the good work, because I'm looking forward to future adventures!

I was bored and browsed several webcomics(Elf Only Inn was the last before this one) when I found this place.

I'm actually 22, Spanish, and with an unique lust for literary stories, specially fantasy ones. I must say that this Drow Tales is quite a nice attempt on working the drow outside D&D and the hellspawn that is Drizzt (gah! they're everywhere)

Don't be alarmed. My hatred for Spanish is long gone and it was a product of cultural bias.
Besides, the fact that you speak fluent English is more then enough to like you as a Spanish. It's not an offense, but I already saw how the common Spanish deals with foreign languages. Can't say we're very different, though...

Say, you're living in Spain or somewhere else?

Ah, yes. Drowtales has 5 out of 5 due to the fact it doesn't have a Drizzt clone in it. Or else it'd be 4 ou of 5. (Sorry Kern, but hey... No Drizzt, happy times?)
He's... Annoying. I don't really like him - Nor the fact that he destroyed the only couple that interested me in the Icewind Dale setting.

Drizzt must die. He's not even a good character. He's an overly hyped-up, shallow, angsty, pathetic excuse for a meaningful protagonist. And the rip offs? It's worse than ripping off Barney, at least Barney was good for something!

Well, I do live at Santiago de Compostela. I don't speak fluently though, my typing is the product of years of English forum browsing. Plus I actually need English in my field of study (Physics).

Apparently the forum doesn't like my French *sigh*

LARP is for Live Action Role Play

We disguise ourselves and go play our characters for real. Of course it takes a lot of imagination but it's really fun to feel what your character lives instead of just writing, drawing, thinking it, etc.

In French we call that "Grandeur Nature"

Hi! Technically I'm not a new reader since I found the website a few months ago, I just finally decided to join the forum.

Anyway, I first found Drowtales through another webcomic (Can't remember which one it was any, sorry) and fell in love with it. That's about if for me.
